Story
Age: 5 Years Weight: 19lbs Good with dogs? Yes Good with cats? Yes Good with kids? Yes Energy Level: Low/Moderate Adoption Fee: $320.00 Any other info: Meet Jasper. Jasper is a special needs pup in need of a loving home or foster home to bust him out of the shelter. Jasper may have faced challenges, but he refuses to let them dim his light. At just 5 years old, this special boy has embraced his new set of wheels with boundless joy, zooming around with a heart full of determination. Though he’s still building up his endurance, every step in his wheelchair is a triumph—a testament to his unbreakable spirit. Jasper is paralyzed from the pelvis down, but that doesn’t stop him from soaking up life’s little pleasures. He adores his stuffy toys, cherishes human companionship, and gazes at the world with the most bright, animated, expressive eyes. He enjoys the company of dog-friendly pups his size and has done well with kids and cats alike. Due to his condition, Jasper is urinary and partially fecal incontinent, and while there’s only a slim chance of improvement, he’s adapted beautifully. He tolerates belly bands to help with his incontinence, takes his medications with ease, and most importantly—never lets anything dull his enthusiasm for love and adventure. But what Jasper needs most right now is a foster home: a safe, comforting home where he can continue to thrive outside the shelter. Jasper is 5 years old, neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, and kept on prevention here with us. He’s ready to roll into someone’s heart and remind them that resilience, joy, and unconditional love come in all forms. Will you be the one to give him the second chance he deserves? If you have the perfect home for this sweet special boy, apply through the link below. https://form.jotform.com/201977724595065 Once your application is processed and approved, our adoptions team will reach out to schedule an in person meet and greet with Jasper. ------------------------------------------------ Our adoption fees include the pets spay or neuter, microchip, up to date vaccines, heartworm/tick disease testing and fecal check. Story
Meet Winnie – A Little Diva with a Big Heart! Say hello to Winnie, a petite bundle of personality wrapped up in a sleek Dachshund frame. At just 2 years old and 12 lbs, this sweet and sassy girl is ready to find her forever family—one that will love her for the confident, playful, and affectionate pup she is. Winnie was lovingly surrendered when her previous family could no longer care for her. She’s been well cared for and is both house-trained and crate-trained—the total package in a pint-sized pup! Winnie is used to being the star of the show and prefers to be the only dog in the spotlight. She’ll let other dogs know with a bark or two that she’s the boss, but she is currently learning how to politely coexist with calm canine friends. She hasn’t met any cats yet, so we’re not sure what she’d think of them. Winnie has lived with young children and truly enjoys their company. She’d thrive in a home with dog-savvy kiddos who understand she’s both delicate and a little bit of a diva. She LOVES toys and playing fetch, and has the playful energy to keep you entertained. An active family who’ll include her in adventures, walks, and plenty of playtime would be a dream come true for her. Winnie pulls on leash (hey, there’s just so much to see!), but with some consistency and training, she’ll be a fantastic walking buddy. A fenced yard is a request that her previous family had for her as she enjoys her zoomies and outdoor time safely off-leash. Winnie can be shy with strangers at first, but warms up with love and patience. She is an affectionate and cuddly girl once she knows you. She can be vocal when excited or uncertain, but is generally a quiet dog. She is smart and eager to please. Winnie may be small, but she has a giant heart and is ready to share it with a family who will adore her—and include her in all of life’s adventures. Could this little queen be your next best friend? Apply to meet Winnie today—she’s waiting to rule your heart! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Romeo, oh such a suitable name for this goofy, loving dog. Romeo is a 9 year young Dachshund mix. He is great with other dogs and very sociable with humans. Very food motivated and he can hear the cheese wrapper from any distance. Romeo is looking for a permanent home, preferably one without stairs. The coordination in his rear legs is not perfect, but on flat ground he is as fast as the other dogs and he love to run and play wrestle. Romeo is not an early riser, he likes to sleep in on a soft bed close to the warm air vent.  Romeo is incontinent. Romeo has limited bladder control. He leaks urine when his bladder is full. He walks as he pees and is unaware of this, he could wear doggie diapers but he would need to be trained to keep them on. Romeo will not be able to become 100% housebroken due to his neurological problem.** If Romeo is let out often he keeps clean inside most of the time.** Romeo loves his human with ALL his heart . He has lots of needs but lots of love to give. This guy is definitely worth the work. If you think you're that special person who can help Romeo and give him a forever home fill out an application. Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to  Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $69.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.  Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
