Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Introducing Maverick, the 10-month-old Dachshund puppy who is—quite literally—a tiny, wiggly miracle being imported straight from a faraway land to the frozen tundra of Minnesota. Why? Because Minnesota needs him. Humanity needs him. And frankly, his cuteness levels should be declared an essential public service. Picture this: a happy, silly, wiener-shaped ray of sunshine who wiggles like a caffeinated earthworm and smiles like he knows he’s the main character. Maverick is that guy. A little sausage with big dreams. A walking giggle. A pocket-sized comedian ready to melt the snow off a whole Midwestern winter. This boy isn’t just cute—he’s dangerously cute. Your heart? Gone. Your lap? Permanently occupied. Your bed? Now legally his. (Don’t fight it.) He will lighten your life like a lightning bug on steroids—zooming, glowing, wobbling, and wiggling his way right into your soul. Maverick is a seasoned expert in the following disciplines: Lap Sitting Until Legs Fall Asleep Bed Cuddling at Maximum Snuggle Density Worm-Wiggling Olympic Freestyle Looking Adorable Instead of Apologizing He’s happy, he’s silly, he’s loving, and he’s on a very serious mission to find his family and stay with them forever. If you’re ready for a lifetime of laughs, cuddles, and long, low, wiggly joy… Maverick is ready for you. www.uniteddobermanrescue.org Adopt your tiny worm-shaped wonder today—your winter will never feel cold again. My name is Betsy, and I’m a very special pup with a heart full of love. I was born almost completely blind, but that doesn’t stop me from living life to the fullest! At first, I can be a little timid with new people, but once I recognize your voice and your scent, I’ll become your most loyal friend. My blindness doesn’t hold me back—in fact, I can be quite the little stinker! You’d be amazed at the things I manage to find. I love to collect toys and hoard them in my room—it’s kind of my thing! Living with a blind dog is a bit different, but not difficult. I can get startled easily, so I need you to tell me what you’re doing—like when you’re about to pet or pick me up. I’m learning to go potty outside (it’s a work in progress), but I do great with puppy pads. I've already learned the layout of my foster home and can zoom around like a little speed demon! I can be a bit bossy with my foster dog sibling, but we play so well together—and I adore the cat, too! I would do best in a home with a securely fenced yard and another friendly dog to show me the ropes and help me feel safe. My foster family had to “baby-proof” the house for me a bit, which helped a lot. I think I’d do well with older, respectful children who can understand my special needs and learn how to interact with me gently. I already know a few basic commands like “no,” “stay,” and “drop it.” I love to play with toys—especially hiding them—and I rely on my excellent sense of smell and hearing to explore the world around me. I can get nervous when other dogs bark because I can't tell what’s going on, but a calm, reassuring home would help me thrive. I may require a little extra care, but I promise I’m worth it. I’m sweet, beautiful, and bursting with love to give. If you open your heart to me, I’ll fill your life with joy, loyalty, and a whole lot of tail wags. Adoption Fee: $695
