Location: Blaine, MN Leah is the definition of Ride or Die, she is extremely loyal, and ready to be your life co-pilot. Leah is always up for a good play session of catch with her tennis balls, stuffed toys or a tug of war match. She LOVES toys!!! Your living room will become a stuffie graveyard on a daily basis. She does love her toys so much, she wants them all to herself. She is willing to share, but her inner spoiled child feels like they're all hers. Leah loves to be on the go. Leah is currently in a foster home with a dog, cat, children (9-14), female and male, and she's doing great! She did start off chasing the cat, so the cat has decided she does not trust Leah. Since then Leah hasn't paid much attention to the cat, but does still chase from time to time. The situation is manageable. Leah does have a strong prey drive (bunnies, squirrels, etc), so this is something to keep an eye on. If your cat is dog savy, and willing to stand their ground against Leah, the cat situation might be manageable, with the proper supervision and a strong leader. Leah and our resident dog get along great, they wrestle for hours throughout the day. Leah has met many dogs and has done well but she needs slow intros to make sure she feels comfortable. She does resource guard (only) high value treats from other animals (not humans). This has been very easy to manage (with supervision and verbal reminders). She does fine with hand fed treats and food. Her and the resident dog have so much fun playing and wrestling together, so she would love to live with a dog sister or brother. She does well with the kids in the house and loves when they play fetch with her. And she's not scared of men. Leah is so smart. She's very trainable and loves to please her people. She hasn't had any accidents and she's crate trained. She LOVES long walks and car rides. Julian is an amazing little guy. He might not be pure doxie, but he has all the character of one. He is working on potty training and is doing great on a schedule. He doesn't seem to know basic commands but he is smart, willing and treat motivated so he should learn quickly. He already learned not to door dash. He doesn't love his kennel but does settle down after a bit and keeps it clean. He would prefer  to sleep with his humans. He loves kids and does great with our resident dog. He is kind and gentle. He loves toys and snuggling under blankets with his people. Overall he low maintenance but is super fun and very sweet. He loves walks, does well on a leash but had a little trouble picking one direction. As a typical Doxie, he will let you if anything is going on you should know about but he isn't obsessive about it. ##2043216##

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Roxy & Penny are bonded 10 year old mini dachshunds who are needing a new home, due to the death of their owner. They have a few years on them, but that just makes them more interesting! Penny is the brains of this dynamic duo and Roxy is the beauty, with her blonde, flowing mane. The ladies like a good meal and Penny can hear the musical tones of spoons clinking on stainless dishes faster than anyone!  The gals love going for walks - Roxy will occasionally break into a light jog, so be prepared to keep up with the little speed demon.   They both do well with outside potties now that they have a routine. They go out every 3-4 hours during the day and no accidents at night (approx 7-8 hours). They have a small enclosed gated area at their foster home, with fluffy beds and fleece blankets to burrow under. Roxy and Penny enjoy their naps too of course! They come and go as they please from their gated area, and sometimes Penny wants to be the adventurer and look for goodies (any kind of food item) while Roxy goes looking for a lap to curl up and take a little nap.   Roxy & Penny's other h obbies include snuffle mat searches for delectable tidbits, peanut butter licking contests, blankie hide and seek, and king of the mountain.  Penny always wins king of the mountain since her favorite spot is sitting directly under her fosters chin. Roxy has a cataract in her left eye and Penny has dry eye on her right eye.  They are very good about putting on their fleece vests to go outside.   These little ladies have a lot of personality and love to give. They have done well with the resident senior dogs, so we would recommend similarly aged dog(s) as housemates. They have had no issues with kids, especially since these ladies are “ever hopeful, under foot”.  Interested in adopting? Please CLICK HERE to sign up to foster! Hi! I'm Tootsie. I'm from Missouri. From his foster: Tootsie is a super sweet Dachshund who bonds very quickly to his person. He hasn't had an accident in the house since his arrival but we do go out frequently. Tootsie loves to go on walks and waits patiently by the door for you to put his harness on, once walking he is a meanderer, no straight lines for this boy. He's starting to go potty on leash but a fenced yard would be ideal for him to sniff around. Tootsie gets along great with my dog, a 13yr. old mini Doxie. I'm sure he would love to have a younger playmate around his size. He sleeps through the night in his kennel in my bedroon without a peep. Tootsie would love to sleep in the big bed but my dog's not having it. Tootsie does have stranger danger and will bark when company comes over and at people and dogs on walks, he's never mean just scared. He also gets upset when left home and will protest- so probably no shared walls for Tootsie. He hasn't figured out toys but likes chew bones and treats. Commands are a work in progress but he's smart and will catch on. If you're a Dachshund lover you'll love Tootsie and he'll love you back with all his heart.

He loves people and is a good playmate with dogs. He is very smart and picked up sit and shake right away.  Wishbone really likes to be close and cuddle with people. He can be a goofy guy when he wants to play, and he likes chew toys and plush toys. He really likes to crawl under the covers and let’s out some good snores.  Wishbone could use some more leash training, but he is a fast learner! We are still working on getting him comfortable in the kennel, but he is able to be left alone in a spare room with a baby gate and will settle quite fast. Walter may bark when left alone for a few mins, but will settle fairly quickly. Wishbone does not bark at people or dogs or when someone knocks on the door. Wishbone would love a home with another dog to play with and someone to play and cuddle with him.
