He is the doggy definition of an Everything Bagel. He starts out a little shy, but give him a moment and you’ll discover a loyal, snuggly sidekick who loves his people with his whole heart. Bagel is one of our long-term fosters and deserves to find his forever. *Click through his photos for DNA results!* Personality: Shy at first, but when he opens up he's playful, sweet, eager to learn, and full of teenage puppy zest! Bagel is an active boy who loves adventures and is happiest when he’s exploring with his humans. Best Home: Bagel would thrive with another confident dog to help show him the world isn’t so scary. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. // Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $400 plus taxWalter is a goofy and cuddly guy who wants to be near his people. He loves laying in the sun, going on walks, treats & toys and being under the covers. Walter needs a fully fenced yard as he can be quite the escape artist. He likes to run for short bursts in the yard and find smells to roll in. Walter gets along with his two resident dogs, but is still learning polite greetings with new dogs. Walter is very curious, and needs someone who can be patient and reassure him. He is still working on leash training and is currently demonstrating some reactivity with other dogs. Based on the fosters observations we beleive that Walter may be hard of hearing. Walter is left home with the resident dogs for a few hours at a time. He is known to be a snoop and counter surfer, so he is put in a room with our resident dog. He will settle when left with a doggy friend. Walter picks up on patterns and routines quickly. He is not a quiet boy and will express his needs. At this time, we do not how Walter does with kids or cats. Walter tends to be curious, cautious and skittish around new animals and meeting people outside the home. Currently we are working on basic obedience and leash etiquette. Walter seems to have some reduced hearing and vision. We suspect it's genetic/congenital. He does not seem to be in any pain from it and we are working with MARS Vet to keep tabs on it. We accept Credit cards, Debit cards as well as cash. At this time we do not accept checks. Welcome Mutz to CCPAL Rescue. Mutz is a 3-year-old Daug (Dachshund /Pug). He weighs about 12 pounds and is full grown and a nice weight. This dog came from the hoarder or overabundance of dog situation. He has an adorable underbit and has really blossomed at the Rescue. He is a quieter dog and has learned to like to be held. He is definitely a lap companion. He is playful with other dogs and has the sturdy body of the Pug. He would love to be a companion for a person that is retired, partially retired or maybe someone with a household that wants a dog with a lower energy to join in. He would be ok with a smaller condo size yard. He is learning leash manners and getting used to commotion of the Rescue. He hasn’t experienced a lot of different things so he isn’t sure yet but he is really really nice. He is not a big shedding dog. He is fine with nail trims and baths and will make some lucky family a great companion. I would say anyone moderately active would be fine for this dog. He bonds deeply and he warms up with affection nicely. He would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. He is getting vaccinations, neutered and he will be ready for his forever home soon. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is $200. Kokache was found as a stray in Texas and has turned out to be one of the sweetest, easiest dogs to have around in her Texas foster home. She is house trained with a doggy door and willingly goes into her crate. She is quiet, gentle, and even-tempered, and she blended into her foster home almost instantly. She quickly figured out the household routine! Kokache is incredibly affectionate and truly wants to be a lap dog. She loves to cuddle and will happily sleep in the bed if you let her. Most of the time she is relaxed and content, though every now and then she gets a little bouncy and playful. Kokache does well around other dogs and would likely adapt well to many types of homes. She is a simple, loving companion who just wants to be close to her people and be part of everyday life. Kokache is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 03/07/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 8:30am and noon. Meet Ethel! Snuggle bug Ethel is a Chihuahua-Dachshund mix with an adorable floppy ear! This senior pup is a low-maintenance snuggle buddy, perfectly happy to just laze around and meander the house with you. She is trusted to be left alone and is not destructive in the slightest. She loves to follow her foster around and humbly asks for cuddles with a head nudge and a wagging tail. All this sweet girl desires is a soft home, gentle cuddles, and head pats - and maybe some window time to watch the birds and squirrels! Ethel’s used to a doggy door to go out as she pleases, but she also indicates at the door when there isn’t one available. She can be free-fed or schedule fed. Because of the Dachshund in her, she also does the most adorable thing ever - she burrows! She will look for blankets and pillows and constructs her tiny nest to be cozy. Ethel is a quiet companion; she doesn’t bark, doesn’t have interest in many chews or toys - she just wants to relax and be around you. She will get extremely excited when you arrive home or offer her a walk, though - she does an adorable excitement dance! Ethel has four legs but her back left leg doesn’t work well. She uses it for support and climbing, but carries it when she walks or runs. Despite being basically a tripod, this girl can climb stairs and hop on and off couches! She also is a fantastic walking buddy and LOVES walks, staying right at your side. Her leg doesn’t slow her down at all! Ethel is looking for a loving, cozy home with plenty of head scratches and blankets.
