Location: St Michael, MN Franck is a sweet boy that was surrendered from a reservation. He has a long body and short legs. His breed is a total guess, but whatever it is, he is cute! He is potty and crate trained but might have an accident if he's nervous. He's still figuring out love from humans so takes time and then will come up for chin scratches! He is great with the dogs and cat in the house! He might whine for a little bit in the kennel but does calm down! ----- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (Distemper, Rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $400 plus taxWalter is a goofy and cuddly guy who wants to be near his people. He loves laying in the sun, going on walks, treats & toys and being under the covers.    Walter needs a fully fenced yard as he can be quite the escape artist. He likes to run for short bursts in the yard and find smells to roll in.  Walter gets along with his two resident dogs, but is still learning polite greetings with new dogs.   Walter is very curious, and needs someone who can be patient and reassure him. He is still working on leash training and is currently demonstrating some reactivity with other dogs. Based on the fosters observations we beleive that Walter may be hard of hearing.   Walter is left home with the resident dogs for a few hours at a time. He is known to be a snoop and counter surfer, so he is put in a room with our resident dog. He will settle when left with a doggy friend.    Walter picks up on patterns and routines quickly. He is not a quiet boy and will express his needs.   At this time, we do not how Walter does with kids or cats. Walter tends to be curious, cautious and skittish around new animals and meeting people outside the home.    Currently we are working on basic obedience and leash etiquette. Walter seems to have some reduced hearing and vision. We suspect it's genetic/congenital. He does not seem to be in any pain from it and we are working with MARS Vet to keep tabs on it. We accept Credit cards, Debit cards as well as cash. Welcome Daisey to CCPAL foster program. She is an 8-year-old Dachshund/Corgi is our best guess. She has a longer body and upright ears. She is a scenting breed for sure. She is active and social and not the couch potato dog. She weighs 25 pounds. She is good with a dog smaller and a dog larger. The larger dog is a pit Bull and she does good with that more dominant dog as well. She is around children and is a great dog for a family with kiddos. She has a 5 year old and a baby in her home. This family has found they have to move into a rental house. The rental house will only allow 2 dogs. They are sad but there is no other option. Pit Bulls are tougher to rehome so she is rehoming her favorite dog. She was crying telling this story. Daisey is potty trained, good on a leash, good in a car, good with other dogs, kids and strangers. She will need a fenced yard or walked on a leash. She can catch a scent and wonder off. She has a nice sturdy body and will make a great companion for an active family or active senior. She can be an only dog or go with another dog. This dog has a lot of good years in front of her and is by no means an old acting dog. She is in good health, vaccinated, spayed and ready for her forever home. She is a shedding dog but only moderately. She is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to help get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Welcome Chopper to CCPAL Rescue. He is a 3.5-year-old Dachshund mix pup. He is Black and tan and weighs about 12 pounds. He is getting neutered next week. He lives in a home with a number of other dogs and does great. He lives with an older woman and he is very loyal to her. We are working with him on a harness and leash. He doesn’t know how to walk on leash at this time. He needs to find his forever home. The person he lived with since he was a puppy has had a change in her living conditions and the neighbor has mentioned harming the dogs. When she told us this, CCPAL stepped up for 3 of the dogs. They are all under-socialized but we will work hard to get them used to new things, leash walking, crate training and more. They are a wonderful breed and if you love this breed you will like any one of these pups. These dogs would make great companion dogs and love to be at home with their person. They would already be wonderful for someone who loves the breed and maybe is a person that wants a companion but doesn’t need them to be a dog you can take everywhere. These dogs would be ok around children. We like them to be 10 or older with the smaller dogs. Chopper is in CCPAL Rescue in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get this gorgeous dog to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the east Coast. Welcome Lil Bit to CCPAL Rescue foster program. Lil Bit is a 2-year-old Mini Dachshund mix. We think maybe mixed with Rat Terrier. She has the long low body and she does not have the barrel chest. She has one ear up mostly and one down. Sometimes the wind will catch the down ear and will stand it up. She is the ultimate lap companion. She gets along with other dogs and lives with a cat. She does not know how to walk on a leash at the moment. We will be working with her on that and will get her in a good harness and give her some experience. She weighs about 10 pounds and her teeth look nice. She won’t need a dental anytime soon and if you brush them, you may be able to keep them good looking. She was a fantastic momma dog to 3 adorable puppies. They are getting weaned now and as soon as her milk dries up, she will be able to be spayed. She is quiet in foster care and she is around other dogs and a cat. She is fine with all of them. She is good in a crate and on car rides. She is adorable and will make some Dachshund lover a wonderful companion. She could go with a family with children but we like them to be 8 or older. She would be great with any moderately active person looking for a lower energy lap companion. Dachshunds are very loyal and usually become attached to a single person in the home. She came to us when one woman lost her home and had to move the new landlord will not allow the dogs. She either has to go or the dogs have to go. This woman came to CCPAL to help her. We took the momma and the 3 puppies. We will post the puppies when they are older and have had 3 rounds of vaccines. She is currently in Texas waiting for her forever home. She could be adopted locally in Texas or we could work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. This low-riding charmer gets along wonderfully with big dogs, small dogs, children, and adults alike. He hasn’t met a cat yet. WadeWilson is already potty trained, leash trained, crate trained, and even enjoys car rides and splashing around in the water. After they undergo treatment for their condition they will be completely healthy again, and heartworm is not a contagious disease. They will get heartworm treatment at one of Ruff Start’s partner veterinary clinics in St. Cloud, so their foster will need to be comfortable getting them to and from the appointments. She’s likely to grow into the perfect lap dog, as she loves to snuggle and enjoys quiet time on the couch. As a stray, she’s still adjusting to home life, but her Texas foster can already tell she’s incredibly intelligent. The way she looks at you when you talk to her is truly unique—it's like she’s hanging on every word. Mabelline’s routine includes a morning potty trip followed by a meal and a short walk or a game of fetch. She isn’t housebroken yet, so she goes outside every two hours, but she’s making great progress. She’s crate-trained, sleeping peacefully through the night after just a few minutes of fussing. During the day, she enjoys resting in her bed near her foster mom's office chair, and she loves to be held and even gives little "hugs" with her front paws.  Though she was initially shy and timid, Mabelline has blossomed into a loving, curious companion. She’s very responsive to commands, including “sit” and “no,” and would thrive with someone who is home more often to give her the love and attention she craves.
