Come meet me at one of our two Adoption Events this Labor Day weekend! 💜 Trove Brewing in Burnsville on Saturday, 9/5 from 2-4pm 💚 Washington Square Bar & Grill in White Bear Lake on Monday, 9/7 from 4 - 6:30pm Age: Estimated DOB 6/16/2026 Dog friendly: Yes Kid friendly: Yes Potty trained: No, just a puppy Crate trained: No, just a puppy Graham is the runt of the litter, but he has never let being the smallest stop him from being in the middle of everything. Graham is happiest when he's following along with his people or his siblings. His tail seems to have a mind of its own and rarely stops wagging, especially when someone gives him attention. He's an affectionate little guy who loves to be part of the action, but he's also perfectly happy to settle in for some serious snuggle time. Graham is great with kids and other dogs, although he's also a very typical puppy who is still learning that fingers aren't chew toys and that the world is not one giant thing to investigate with his mouth. He hasn't started formal training yet, so his future family should be ready to teach him all the basics with plenty of patience and positive reinforcement. Based on his appearance, our best guess is that Graham is a Terrier mix, potentially with Jack Russell Terrier, Fox Terrier, or Dachshund in the mix. Breed identification is only our best guess, and we expect him to be small to medium sized when fully grown. Every s’more needs a Graham, and this little guy is ready to be the missing piece of your family. Apply to adopt Graham and give this sweet boy the forever family he's been waiting for! 🏡 Adoption Fee: $625

She's hard of hearing and possibly deaf, but that certainly hasn't stopped her from having a good time. We've noticed that Fluff is likely deaf or very hard of hearing, something our veterinarian agrees with, although she has not had an official hearing diagnosis. She may experience the world a little differently than her siblings, but she doesn't seem particularly concerned about that. She loves to play, is especially interested in our big resident dogs, and is still plenty vocal when she's having fun. She also tends to sleep longer than her siblings, but once she's awake, she's ready to jump right back into the action. Like all of her siblings, Fluff is wonderful with kids and other dogs, but she's also a typical puppy who hasn't had formal training yet. Her future family should expect plenty of chewing, exploring, playful nibbles, and puppy antics while she learns how to be a very good dog. Based on her appearance, our best guess is that Fluff is a Terrier mix, potentially with Jack Russell Terrier, Fox Terrier, or Dachshund in the mix. Breed identification is only our best guess, and we expect her to be small to medium sized when fully grown. Fluff's future family will need to be comfortable teaching her through visual cues, touch and other communication methods rather than relying on verbal commands. Her deafness doesn't mean she can't learn, it just means her people will need to be a little more creative and intentional about how they communicate with her. If you're ready to give this special girl the patience and understanding she needs, apply to adopt Fluff and give her a forever family where she can keep doing what she does best: having a really good time. ❤️ Adoption Fee: $625

Age: 6 years old Weight: 16 lbs Dog friendly: Yes, requires companion dog in the home Cat friendly: Yes Kid friendly: Older/Considerate kids Potty trained: See below Adoption fee: $525 Meet Slim Jim 🌭! Slim Jim is a dachshund who spinal walks, wears diapers, and has somehow decided that none of those things are nearly as important as making sure everyone knows exactly what he wants at all times. 😂 He is a very typical doxie when meeting new people. Slim prefers a slow introduction and needs a minute to decide that you’re not a murderer. Please don’t take it personally. He’s six inches off the ground and the world is a scary place down there. Once he decides you’re safe though… ohhhhh buddy. You now own a wiener dog. Or, more accurately, a wiener dog owns you. Slim is a MAJOR Velcro dog. He wants to be touching you at all times and sleeping in bed is basically his reason for living. He is an absolutely incredible snuggler and will happily spend hours tucked under the blankets against you. We even have a bedside bassinet for him because sometimes we have the audacity to do things that require both hands. 😂 He’ll wiggle his little body into it and go to sleep next to us until we remember our actual job is holding Slim Jim. He lives with a giant pack of dogs and LOVES his friends. His best friend is another paralyzed dog because she is the second-best snuggler in the house. We did not conduct a competition. Slim just knows. He gets around by spinal walking and has gotten pretty damn good at it. He uses a ramp to get down from furniture and we are currently working on going UP the ramp. Slim’s current position on this is: I have seen you pick me up before. Fair. Because of his paralysis, Slim does not have control over his potty. His bladder needs to be expressed 3–4 times a day and he wears a diaper. We’ll teach his adopter everything they need to know. And yes, changing a dachshund’s diaper will eventually become so normal that you’ll find yourself having a full conversation with another adult while wiping a wiener and not even notice what your life has become. 😂 Cats are fine. Slim has no beef with the kitties. He would prefer a home without small kids. He doesn’t hate children; he just finds all the running around VERY exciting and gets himself way too worked up. Honestly, same. He also does not need a fenced yard, which feels like one of the very few perks you should get when your dog requires multiple diaper changes a day. 😂 Slim Jim needs someone who will be patient while he gets comfortable, learn his pretty simple care routine, let him sleep in bed, and understand that once he loves you, personal space is over. He’s a tiny, opinionated, diaper-wearing sausage with questionable leg function and absolutely nothing wrong with his ability to be dramatic. We love him so freaking much. ❤️🌭

Story
Your future best friend just spun her way into town, and she’s ready to steal your heart (and your leftover wet food).   Meet Lucita (or Lucy, or Lucy Lou, or just "The Potato"). Here is the lowdown on this Dachshund-mix masterpiece:    Her Signature Moves The 360-Degree Spin: Why walk in a straight line when you can twirl? Lucita literally spins through life. She can walk straight, she just prefers to put a little spice on it. (Bonus: The more relaxed she gets, the less she spins!)   The "No Teeth, No Problem" Smile: Thanks to a wild underbite, Lucita recently had 17 teeth removed. She’s fully healed and totally unfazed. She can still crunch kibble, but she will absolutely sing you the song of her people for some wet food.   The T-Rex Hops: When playtime hits, she does these adorable little bunny hops and pounces on her toys. She can get a little mouthy when she’s hyped up, but since she has no front teeth, she really just gently gums you.    Social Status & Vibes "I love humans. Other animals are... fine, I guess." — Lucita's Review of Life   The Fun Police: She currently co-exists with two dogs and three cats. She’s totally fine sharing a roof with them, but she’s not looking for a party animal. If other dogs start playing too loudly, she goes into "Mommy Mode" to break up the fun.   The Management: Lucita excels at micro-managing her humans. If you aren't giving her enough attention, she will lock eyes with you and give a tiny, dramatic whine until you fix your behavior.   The Routine Queen: She is a car-ride champion, quiets down like a dream in her kennel, and is semi-potty trained. Keep her on a good routine, and she’s golden! Because of her spunky play style, older kiddos are best.   When she isn't busy being a total comedian, Lucita just wants to be your 27-pound weighted blanket. She is perfectly content to curl up in your bed, nestle into the couch cushions, or trot along with you on a walk.   Ready to add some literal spin to your life? Apply to adopt Lucita today!        Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee:  $450.00Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 6, 2026, 10:33 pm

Story
Welcome Drummer to CCPAL Rescue. Drummer is an 8-year-old wire-haired Dachshund. He was adopted out by us 4 years ago. He was 4 at the time. He has been loved and bonded deeply to the woman that adopted him. He would love another home with a quieter home that would allow him to get the attention he needs and deserves. He has found himself in need of a new forever home. His owner has been put in hospice and can no longer care for him. The immediate family cannot care for him so we stepped up and will find this precious boy his new forever home. He is trying to adjust to the Rescue again. The treats from our friends in New Jersey helped him today along with all the nice gifts. His owner has been put in hospice and can no longer care for him. The immediate family cannot care for him so we stepped up and will find this precious boy his new forever home. 5.5 may sound out but it truly is middle aged in Dachshunds lifespans. They can easily live to be 17 years old. If you love the breed, you know how loyal and bonded these dogs are to their person. They are a single dog person dog. They may love other people but they are loyal to one. He sheds some but not over the top. He is a good weight and his teeth are not too bad for his age. You can tell he was cared for and that he is disoriented with his new arrangement at the Rescue. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Story
Welcome Annabelle to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 20-pound sweet Dachshund/Havanese is our best guess. She has a curly coat and curly hair on her tail. She is about 5 months old. She is very sweet. She was found on the streets. She doesn’t jump up, is good with other dogs, good in a kennel, very non reactive around lots of dogs and a busy shelter. She is a very mellow and lower energy dog. She is what we call “perfect” temperament in Rescue. Since she is relatively quiet, she would be fine in a condo, apartment or shared wall situation. She is sturdy and would make a great walking companion. She won’t need lots of walks or exercise to be happy. She is getting spayed soon and is topping up and getting her vaccinations. She could go to a moderately to lower active family. She would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states.
