Story
🐾 Meet Itzy 💖 📍 Age: 9 years ⚖️ Weight: 8 lbs 🐾 Breed: Dachshund/Chihuahua 🐶 Dog Friendly: Yes, happy solo if humans are mostly at home or with a furry friend 🐱 Cat Friendly: Unknown 👶 Kid Friendly: Yes 🚽 Potty Trained: Yes, good on a schedule 🏠 Crate Trained: Yes, does well in the crate when left alone 🌳 Fenced Yard: No, can potty and exercise on leash Itzy is a 9-year-old Chihuahua–Dachshund mix with a tiny body, a big personality, and an even bigger heart. With only a few teeth left, her little tongue tends to peek out in the most adorable way—one of her many charms. Despite her petite size, she fills every room with warmth, sweetness, and quiet devotion. A certified cuddle expert, Itzy lives for snuggling under blankets, burrowing into soft beds, and curling up with her favorite humans. She’s happiest when nestled against someone, especially on chilly days—because if there’s one thing she absolutely cannot stand, it’s the cold. Fortunately, she gets to show off her stylish winter wardrobe of cozy sweaters, which she wears with surprising pride. Itzy is perfectly potty trained and wonderfully quiet in her crate, though she’d much rather be following her family around. Curious and observant, she pads after her people from room to room like a tiny four-legged shadow. Being apart from them, even for just a few minutes, can make her whimper softly—but that only shows how deeply she loves. She gets along beautifully with other dogs and enjoys peaceful companionship, preferring gentle interactions and shared naps over rough play. Above all, Itzy is a devoted, affectionate companion who brings comfort, sweetness, and laughter to everyone around her. With her cozy sweaters, snuggly habits, and ever-present tongue, she’s the definition of irresistible. 💵 Adoption Fee: $425

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $400 plus taxWalter is a goofy and cuddly guy who wants to be near his people. He loves laying in the sun, going on walks, treats & toys and being under the covers.    Walter needs a fully fenced yard as he can be quite the escape artist. He likes to run for short bursts in the yard and find smells to roll in.  Walter gets along with his two resident dogs, but is still learning polite greetings with new dogs.   Walter is very curious, and needs someone who can be patient and reassure him. He is still working on leash training and is currently demonstrating some reactivity with other dogs. Based on the fosters observations we beleive that Walter may be hard of hearing.   Walter is left home with the resident dogs for a few hours at a time. He is known to be a snoop and counter surfer, so he is put in a room with our resident dog. He will settle when left with a doggy friend.    Walter picks up on patterns and routines quickly. He is not a quiet boy and will express his needs.   At this time, we do not how Walter does with kids or cats. Walter tends to be curious, cautious and skittish around new animals and meeting people outside the home.    Currently we are working on basic obedience and leash etiquette. Walter seems to have some reduced hearing and vision. We suspect it's genetic/congenital. He does not seem to be in any pain from it and we are working with MARS Vet to keep tabs on it. If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption. We accept Credit cards, Debit cards as well as cash. At this time we do not accept checks.   Our Adoption fees for all animals cover required vetting: which includes, Rabies, Distemper Vaccine Series, Bordetella, Deworming, Heartworm Test as age appropriate, Spay or Neuter and Microchip and registration. Adoption Fees are Non Negotialble. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history. //

**🐾 Meet Oliver – Your Gentle, Goofy, Future Best Friend! 🐾** Oliver is an adorable **11-week-old dachshund mix** with the sweetest little heart and the softest soulful eyes. He may start off shy when meeting new people, but give him time to warm up and you’ll discover the playful, silly pup hiding just beneath the surface! Once he feels safe, Oliver LOVES to romp around with toys, chase soft, crinkly, or squeaky things, and wiggle his tiny tail in the cutest full-body happy dance. He’s a gentle, affectionate boy who is learning to enjoy curling up next you just as much as he enjoys playtime. Oliver is also wonderfully dog-, cat-, and kid-friendly, making him a great addition to a family of any shape or size. For such a young pup, he’s doing an impressive job using potty pads, and with continued guidance he’ll only get better! What Oliver is looking for: * A patient family who will let him blossom at his own pace * An attentive, loving home where he can build confidence * Lots of reassurance, snuggles, and positive experiences - and TREATS! * Someone who appreciates a sweet, slightly shy pup with a playful streak * A family excited to continue helping him learn and grow Oliver is still a baby, so he’ll need continued training, socialization, and plenty of encouragement—but he promises to give you loyalty, love, and endless puppy joy in return. If you’re ready to help this precious boy come out of his shell and shine, Oliver can’t wait to meet you! 🐶💛 All CSHS pups are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, 4DX negative (if older than 6 months), dewormed and microchipped. Story
Ernie is a 6 year old dapple daschund. He is a pure bred and has his paper work. Ernie is a wonderful dog, he has lived on a forty acre hobby farm. I had to move to town and he barks to much when I am gone, he has separation anxiety. He would do well in a home with room to run and someone who could love him and not be locked up all day. He really is a sweet boy.

Story
Welcome Mutz to CCPAL Rescue. Mutz is a 3-year-old Daug (Dachshund /Pug). He weighs about 12 pounds and is full grown and a nice weight. This dog came from the hoarder or overabundance of dog situation. He has an adorable underbit and has really blossomed at the Rescue. He is a quieter dog and has learned to like to be held. He is definitely a lap companion. He is playful with other dogs and has the sturdy body of the Pug. He would love to be a companion for a person that is retired, partially retired or maybe someone with a household that wants a dog with a lower energy to join in. He would be ok with a smaller condo size yard. He is learning leash manners and getting used to commotion of the Rescue. He hasn’t experienced a lot of different things so he isn’t sure yet but he is really really nice. He is not a big shedding dog. He is fine with nail trims and baths and will make some lucky family a great companion. I would say anyone moderately active would be fine for this dog. He bonds deeply and he warms up with affection nicely. He would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. He is getting vaccinations, neutered and he will be ready for his forever home soon. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Maybelle is a goofy, affectionate gal looking for love! Maybelle was found in rough shape, underweight and with an old injury that hadn't been treated, leaving her back leg needing to be amputated. She struggles with stairs so would need help or do best in a one-level home.  She wants nothing more than to snuggle up with you and have a warm, cozy spot to call home. Maybelle would benefit in a home where people can provide patient guidance as she continues to work on potty training. She was adopted previously and had a place to call home for a month, but somewhere in that time she developed some bad habits that her foster home have been working on with her. She uses potty pads semi-reliably, but will need more practice in this area.  This girl sleeps heavily in the strangest positions and will give you a laugh when you find how she's decided to make herself comfortable! Give Maybelle the support she deserves and in return you will have a loyal companion who will fill your home and heart with love and laughter!    Maybelle is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 1/10 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 8am-Noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame.  Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 28, 2025, 3:08 pm
