Very handsome if I do say so.  Foster mom says that I am blossoming like the sweetest smelling flower. When I first got to my foster mama’s house I was a little scared and reserved but not anymore! Now it’s all tail wags and zoomies. Some of my favorite things are chasing squeaky balls, finding sticks in the yard, and playing with my foster brother. I love sitting on foster mama’s lap, laying out in the sun, going for walks, and, of course, eating! I’m still reserved and shy around new people but I have a strong and loving bond with my human family. Foster mom says it will be a must to continue to expose me to new people, places and sounds to help build by courage and social abilities. Foster mama and I are working hard on potty training and walking on a leash. I don’t need to have a fenced yard or another dog in the home if my people are home with me a lot. But it would be nice to have another small companion dog in the home to show me the ropes. Whenever foster mama leaves me to go out, or at night for bedtime, I go to an e-pen with an open crate. I am doing pretty well in there though I bark a little bit at night before settling in and sleeping all night like a champ. My perfect home would be where my people are home most of the time with me and there are no young kids as I am still unsettled by lots of commotion. I’ve never met a kitty cat so I just don’t know what I would think about that! Foster mama says that I am a hoot! She says I walk around like I’m late for a meeting, love to do zoomies, am always eager to be near her, think it is fun to run through the nearby fields, and often flop down to show my belly while wagging my tail at 100mph.  Once I’ve gotten some energy out, I’m happy to sleep next to her on the couch. She says I’m a little lovebug! And it’s all true! This young adult Dachshund may have started his journey a little rough—thin, scared, and unsure—but now he’s living his best life as a professional zoomie champion and cuddlebug-in-training. Bodie is bursting with energy, heart, and hilarious antics. He loves to run, jump, and turn everyday moments into a party. Training is still a work in progress, but this guy is wildly food motivated—he’d learn calculus if you promised him a cookie. Just be warned: he’s a treat thief and snack ninja, so keep the goodies out of reach unless you're ready for some clever counter surfing. He’s incredibly affectionate and thrives on human attention. Bodie’s a true “velcro dog”—he’ll stick to your side like peanut butter on toast and body-slam the door if you dare go outside without him. While he’s not a fan of crates (understatement: he hates them), he’s almost potty trained and getting better every day. Bodie plays well with other dogs but is also totally happy as your one and only—as long as his humans are around most of the time. Cats? Hard pass. They’re way too fun to chase. Location: Buffalo, MN Meet Trader Joe! 🐾 Trader Joe is a sweet, gentle soul who’s just beginning to learn what it means to be truly loved. He may be a little shy at first, but give him a bit of time and you’ll see his true, playful personality shine through. Joe gets along well with other dogs and is happy to share his toys during playtime. Once he’s had his fill of fun, he’s all about snuggling up for a well-deserved nap. He’s crate trained and settles in easily with just a little encouragement. On walks, he does well—unless a squirrel or bunny catches his eye! He’s a curious guy who enjoys taking his time outside, soaking in the sights, smells, and sounds of the great outdoors. Joe is still working on his basic commands, but he’s very smart and eager to learn. He’s potty trained, too, as long as he gets let out when he asks. He even does well with cats, although he’s still figuring out that they don’t quite play the same way dogs do—much to his confusion!
