Story
Meet Fletcher! Fletcher came to us as a stray, but it took him no time at all to start showing off his big personality. Fletcher is newly a senior, and he has an endearing "weird old man" vibe to him. Fletcher is totally hairless, and rocking the bald look! If you're looking for a spunky, four-legged roommate to share your home with, Fletcher is totally that guy. He is playful and enjoys destroying a good squeaky toy before taking a nap on a cozy bed or couch. He has done okay with other dogs. Fletcher would do best in a home without cats or young children, as he strongly believes in personal space and would rather receive affection on his own terms. If you have other animals in your home, we recommend bringing them in to do a meet and greet before taking Fletcher home. If you are interested in meeting Fletcher, please submit an adoption form on our website: fairfieldcountydogs.com and we will contact you to arrange a time to visit. Primary Color: Ghost Grey Secondary Color: Ghost Grey Weight: 29 Age: 7yrs 2mths 1wks

Story
Herk is a 6-year-old red purebred dachshund, neutered, calm, and affectionate. He bonds closely with his people, thrives on attention, and needs daily walks. Columbus, Ohio area only. Adults-only home, no children, no other pets. Experienced pet owners only. We're rehoming him due to our son's severe dog allergies. Herk had a liver shunt repair (2020) and back surgery (2025), both fully recovered. Standard dachshund back care required: no jumping, limited stairs, no rough play. He eats The Farmer's Dog (turkey, beef, pork) twice daily with pumpkin. No chicken due to a confirmed allergy. Vet records available.

Story
**Meet Nizzy! 🐾**Nizzy is a 3½-year-old Beagle/Dachshund mix with soulful eyes, a wagging tail, and a personality that's sure to win you over. At 21 lbs, she's the perfect medium-small companion—easy to take along on adventures but just as content curling up beside you at the end of the day. Nizzy is sweet, affectionate, and incredibly devoted to her people. Whether she's relaxing beside you on the couch, supervising household activities, or soaking up sunshine on the patio, she's happiest when she's close to her favorite humans. She loves attention, enjoys treats, and is a smart cookie who quickly learns routines and expectations. Like many hounds and Dachshunds, Nizzy is curious about the world around her and enjoys using her nose to investigate everything life has to offer.Nizzy is house-trained, crate-trained, and rides beautifully in the car. She walks nicely on leash while wearing her special harness and is happiest when she's close to her people. At home, she has a cozy bed and crate of her own, but she's just as likely to curl up on the floor nearby to keep you company. She even has an adorable habit of snuggling underneath beds or chairs for a cozy little nap.Nizzy is looking for a home where she can be your **one and only pet**. She thrives on having her people all to herself and will happily repay that devotion by becoming your loyal sidekick, neighborhood greeter, cuddle buddy, and constant companion. Nizzy is currently being fostered in her home while she searches for her perfect match, allowing us to share plenty of information about her personality, daily routines, and what life with her is really like. She is already familiar with the routines of family life and is looking forward to becoming the cherished only pet in her new home.If you're looking for a smart, loving companion who wants nothing more than to be your special girl, Nizzy may be exactly who you've been waiting for. **Apply to adopt at caninecollective.org.**
