Meet Rusty! Hi, I’m Rusty! I’m around 1–2 years old, with big puppy energy! I’m curious about everything- I love to play, explore, and meet new people. And when I’m ready to wind down, I’m convinced I’m a 33-pound lap dog. My favorite place is right in your lap getting all the cuddles! I’m still working on my manners and commands, but I’ve already mastered “shake” (and I’m VERY proud of it!). I’m a smart boy who is learning more every day. Dog-friendly: I do great with other dogs and LOVE to play! I’d probably be happiest with another playful dog who can help me burn off some of this energy. Adventure buddy: I’m great on a leash and might even have what it takes to become your future running buddy! Kids: I do well with older kids. Younger kids are a little more of an unknown because I get SO excited and love attention, which can make me a little jumpy. I’d likely do best with kids who are comfortable around an energetic pup. Crate trained: I’m a crate champ! I eat, sleep, and relax in my crate and stay there when my foster family leaves. I’m still learning the word “crate,” but toss a treat inside and I’m happy to hop right in! Car rides: Love them! Just tell me where we’re going! Cats: I haven't been around cats yet, so my foster family isn’t sure how I’d do. Still learning: I’m a young guy with plenty of puppy energy, so I’m still working on my manners, keeping all four paws on the floor when I’m excited, and perfecting my potty habits. I’m mostly potty trained but may occasionally mark inside, so I’ll need a family who is patient and willing to keep helping me learn. Hi everyone, I’m Brosnan Sammy! I’m a 13-year-old Dachshund mix weighing about 24 lbs. I may be a senior, but don’t let my age fool you — I’m still pretty peppy and love getting out for walks! I’m sweet, silly, and just an all-around adorable little guy. I came to PAWS after my owner passed away, and I was left in the home for months before someone stepped in to help. I had been living with my friend Winney, but we’ve learned that we don’t have to be adopted together. When I first came back to PAWS, I weighed 26 lbs, but I’ve been working on my diet and am down to 24 lbs! I’m crate trained and really enjoy my walks. I’m still working on my house training. I do mark inside, so my foster family has me wear a male wrap in the house. I may be a senior, but I still have plenty of love to give. Meet Milo! 🐾Those ears! Milo is an adorable approximately 5-year-old, 14-pound Dachshund mix with short little legs, a huge smile and a pair of ears that seem to have a personality all their own. His Dachshund heritage shows in those cute little turned-out feet, while those enormous ears leave us wondering—Miniature Pinscher? Chihuahua? Whatever the mix, they're guaranteed to make you smile!Milo came to us from Kentucky, where he lived with two other small dogs. Sadly, his owner fell on hard times and was unable to find housing that would allow the dogs to stay with them. Now Milo is looking for a new family to call his own.Milo can be a little cautious when meeting new people, but a few meaty treats are a great way to win him over! Once he realizes you're a friend, his sweet, affectionate personality shines through. At a recent adoption event, once he got comfortable, he was wonderful!His previous rescue tells us that Milo loves laps, belly rubs, squeaky toys and treats. He's not much of a fan of being crated and would much rather be by your side snoozing—or, better yet, curled up on your lap! Milo is house-trained, has used pee pads and will also potty outside. He walks nicely on a harness and leash and enjoys car rides, especially when he can look out the window. He does well with other small dogs, although larger dogs aren't really his cup of tea.At only 14 pounds, Milo is a wonderfully portable size, but there's plenty of personality packed into that little body. If you're looking for a happy little sidekick who loves being close to his people, Milo might be just the companion you've been waiting for.
