Charlotte and Biscuit are a bonded pair of Dachshunds. Charlotte is 12 years old and Biscuit is 10 years old. They were surrendered to Rico as their owner with advanced Alzheimer could no longer care for them. Both dogs were in bad shape. Rico has placed them in a foster home where they are getting the care they need to treat their skin issues, matted hair, ear infections and provide them with dental care. Both dogs are obese and need to lose weight. Despite their past, Biscuit and Charlotte are soaking up the love in their foster home. They are snuggling on the couch, playing with toys and getting along with other dogs and even kids. If you see this senior pair in your future, please apply at ricopetrecovery.org to meet them. The adoption fee for Charlotte is $200.

Sugarplum is a 1 year old Terrier/Dachshund mix weighing 15 pounds. She came to the shelter as a stray so her history is unknown. Sugarplum is all puppy-puppy energy & puppy behaviors! She has a submissive personality and is very sweet, playful and curious. She loves stuffed toys. Is treat motivated. Puppy Pad trained-working on housebreaking. Knows command sit and is working on shake. Listens well and will be your shadow. Medium to high energy. Mild separation anxiety. Interested in cats, followed around, displayed no prey drive.Her adoption fee is $200, this includes her spay, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. Her dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $21.00. Please visit the shelter to meet her, we show dogs Monday through Friday 1pm-4:30pm and Saturday 1pm-3:30pm. Once you have visited the shelter, you are then eligible to submit an adoption application for review. Please note, we do not offer same day adoptions and there is a $10 non-refundable application fee.Come and meet your new best friend today!
