Story
Meet Weenona Ryder! Weenona is an 8-year-old female Dachshund weighing just 10.5 pounds of pure sweetness. Rescued from a puppy mill, this tiny merle beauty is now discovering how wonderful the good life can be.
Weenona is a quiet little observer who loves curling up in her cozy dog bed or propping herself up on the ottoman to get a bird’s-eye view of everything going on around her. Her soft tail wags and gentle nature make it clear she just wants to be near her people. She’s very sweet, friendly, and easy to fall in love with. She has met some other small and medium-sized dogs and has done well with them.
Weenona is currently using pee pads and will need a patient home to help her continue learning leash skills and house training, but with kindness and consistency, she’s sure to blossom. If you’re looking for a petite, gentle companion with soulful eyes and the cutest little presence, Weenona might just be your girl!
Weenona is being fostered in the Cincinnati, Ohio area, and her adoption fee is $450.
Weenona Ryder is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well.
To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt
All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
