Story
Teeny, a 12 lb (a bit underweight), 4 yr old Dachshund Chihuahua Mix, is a playful, energetic companion suitable for men, women, kids and other dogs. He is very food motivated and thank goodness, because he needs continued work on manners and basic training. He just gets so excited!
He is an adorable little velcro companion who can get under foot from time to time, but he wants to be where you are so badly. He will play quietly on his own or rest quietly in his crate when you need a break from all the excitement.
Previous owners reported Teeny as housetrained, but in the stress of losing his home he has had a few accidents. He has improved significantly but please be patient with him. This is likely he hardest thing he's ever been throguh.
Teeny's favorite thing other than laying at your feet and staring longingly at you is burrowing into bedding or an errant pile of clothes on the floor, just like a Dachshund should! Though he has a lot of dachshund behaviors, he does not dig in the yard, however.
The one command he seems to know is "stay" which I use when I don't want him running out the door with me. Caution should be taken with kids of any age so that they don't accidentally let him out of the house.
If you're looking for a delightful little ride or die, Teeny could be your man.
Teeny is fostered in the Cincinnati area. His adoption fee is $400.00.
To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt
All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
