Meet Stevie   Stevie is a 6-year-old Dachshund with a heart as big as her personality. Despite a difficult past, this resilient little girl has never lost her love for people and is ready to find a family of her very own.   Due to a traumatic injury before coming into rescue, Stevie is paralyzed and uses a wheelchair to help her get around. Don’t let that fool you—she doesn’t let her disability slow her down! Stevie is determined, adaptable, and full of life.   This sweet girl is the definition of a Velcro dog. She wants to be wherever her person is, whether that’s curled up in your lap, burrowed under a cozy blanket, or following you around the house. She adores belly rubs, scratches, and all the love you can give. Stevie is also quite vocal and isn’t shy about letting you know when she wants attention, a snack, or a little help.   Stevie gets along well with dogs and is kid-friendly, making her a wonderful addition to many different types of homes. After spending years without the veterinary care she desperately needed, she is finally getting the love and support she deserves.   Stevie is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and started on monthly prevention. Skye is a 5-6 year old spayed female dachshund mix. She looks mostly dachshund. She weighs around 12-15lbs. She is heartworm negative, vaccinated, microchipped and has recently received a dental. Skye is a very loving and snuggly girl who wants nothing more than to cuddle on the couch and chase off possible intruders! She is always on alert for danger and will let you know if she hears ruckus going on outside. Skye is a typical dachshund who does will when let out often but will have accidents when left too long. She does not really like a crate but will stay in one if needed. She is only 12lbs but she is the boss of her foster home and keeps the other dogs in line! She does love to play fetch and loves toys. She has done well with a 5 year old child but we prefer a home with older children due to her long back and small size. Skye doesnt do well with cats. She will need a fenced yard to keep her safe. "Rover" came to the ESPCA from Animal Welfare after his stray hold expired. He has been listed as a Rottie/Doxy mix. He's short and long like the Doxy and marked like the Rottie. "Rover" is older (estimated 5 years) and seems set in his way about the dogs he will allow in his circle. Dogs his size and smaller, laid back, not in his face is what he prefers. However, he has gotten grumpy a few times with his compatible dogs, so that is something to know and consider if another dog is in the home. Now, when it comes to people, "Rover" seems to love everyone. Men, women, kids. Every interaction he's had with people have all been positive and he really lights up for belly rubs. The ESPCA kennels are open to the public Thursday and Friday from 12 pm - 4 pm and Saturday 12 pm - 3 pm.
