*Fostered in Hamilton*Apply at rebeldogrescue.com*APPLY TO FOSTER TO ADOPTJack was surrendered to a shelter with little info given. He has shown us that he is the definition of a low-maintenance best friend. This little gentleman is quiet, easygoing, and perfectly happy doing his own thing as long as it's somewhere close to his people. He enjoys leisurely walks where he can stop and explore all the interesting smells, but don't expect him to be your marathon buddy. Cian 4 months old | Spayed Female | Dachshund Mix | 3.5 kg | 23 cm | Black & Brown   CALGARY FLIGHT OPPORTUNITY — AUGUST 6 A flight volunteer to Calgary, AB is available, arriving on August 6 at 4:10 PM, with space for ONE dog.   Both Rory and Cian are eligible for this flight. The spot will go to whichever pup is matched with an approved Calgary adopter first.   Rescue Story Cian was born after her pregnant mother was rescued from a hoarding situation. She is now ready to leave her difficult beginnings behind and find a loving forever family of her own.   Personality & People Cian is a very friendly, affectionate, and outgoing puppy. She happily approaches both familiar people and strangers, rubbing against them for attention and readily allowing herself to be touched and petted.   She is comfortable with both men and women and can easily be picked up and held. She is so trusting with people that she may even roll over and show her belly to someone she has just met.   Other Dogs Cian is very social with other dogs and will approach both familiar and unfamiliar dogs to say hello and invite them to play.   Despite her small size, she isn’t generally intimidated by larger dogs. However, very high-energy or rough dogs can make her nervous. She prefers playing with dogs closer to her own size or those with a gentler play style.   If another dog challenges or provokes her, Cian tends to avoid the situation rather than engage.   Cats Cian has not yet been observed around cats. Cat testing can be arranged upon request.   Energy Level Cian has a moderate energy level. She enjoys outdoor activities and playtime but settles down nicely and rests afterward.   Walking Cian has not had much experience with leash walking yet and will need continued guidance and training in her new home.   At Home & Other Behaviours Cian does not show food guarding toward either people or other dogs.   She is currently quiet without problematic barking and remains calm in a kennel. She uses both indoor pee pads and outdoor areas for potty breaks.   Because Cian comes from a hoarding background and is accustomed to living around other dogs, her behaviour as the only dog in a home has not yet been observed.   Cian is still a young puppy and will need a family ready to continue her training, socialization, and help her grow into a happy, confident adult dog.   Apply to adopt or foster: https://adoptmekr.org  PLEASE ALSO VISIT OUR FACEBOOK AND INSTAGRAM! Story
Meet Lotus (Lolo)! ❤️ At 10 years young and just 7.5 pounds, Lotus—affectionately known as Lolo—is a tiny sweetheart with a big personality. With her short legs and long body, we think she may be a Chiweenie mix, although she certainly has plenty of Chihuahua charm! Lolo came into rescue through no fault of her own when her loving owner could no longer afford the treatment she needed for seizures. Thanks to proper veterinary care, she is now stable and thriving. She will need lifelong medication, which she happily takes tucked inside a tiny pill pocket. Aside from her well-managed seizures and some mild age-related vision changes, she's in wonderful health. She has also had a dental, been spayed, and had a benign mammary tumour removed. Lolo is equal parts sweet and sassy! She gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home and is good with respectful children, though her tiny size makes her better suited to a home without very young kids. She hasn't been tested with cats. This little lady loves life! She enjoys zoomies, playing fetch with soft toys, and proudly removing every squeaker and bit of stuffing she can find. When playtime is over, she's happiest curled up in your lap giving kisses or snuggled under the blankets beside you at bedtime. Lotus loves sunny days, leisurely walks filled with lots of sniffing, and spending time outdoors. She has good emerging leash manners and is fully house-trained in her foster home, using either the yard or pee pads. Like many dogs, she may need a little patience while adjusting to a new home, but she's a quick learner. Lolo can be vocal when she hears noises or visitors arrive—not because she's unfriendly, but because she'd much rather be picked up for cuddles! Because of this, a detached home would likely suit her better than an apartment or townhouse. If you're looking for a loving little companion with plenty of personality, Lotus is ready to fill your home—and your lap—with love.
