Story
QUICK FACTS Name: TwixAge: 7 months oldBreed: Dachshund MixGender: Male, NeuteredWeight: 4.5 kg / 9.9 lbsColor: Black Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY My story began in Taean, where my mom gave birth to me and my siblings. Sadly, instead of having a safe place to grow up together, we were each tied up separately near a mountainside and left there. We were at risk of being sold off to anyone who would take us, without knowing what kind of future was waiting for us. Thankfully, we were rescued and given a second chance. Now I’m safe, growing, and learning that people can mean comfort, affection, and love. I’m ready for the next part of my story—a forever family who will show me what it truly means to be home.   MY HEALTH Neutered Vaccinations up-to-date No known health concerns   MY PERSONALITY Hi, I’m Twix! I’m a sweet, gentle little boy who might act a little shy when we first meet. But I have a not-so-secret weakness: treats! Give me something yummy and a little time to get to know you, and suddenly that shy puppy may turn into your little shadow. Once I realize you’re a friend, I love staying close and soaking up your affection. And I really mean it when I say I love being close to people. I feel so comfortable in someone’s arms that I may even start falling asleep while being held. That’s one of my happiest places to be. Once I trust you, I’ll even roll over and show you my belly. I also have the sweetest round eyes and a bright, expressive gaze that makes it very hard not to fall for me. My soft, longer black coat gives me an extra special look, too. I might need a moment to warm up—but once I do, there’s a very cuddly little boy waiting underneath.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I can be a little shy around someone I’ve just met, but treats help me warm up quickly. Once I feel comfortable, I enjoy being touched, staying close, and receiving affection. I’m comfortable being gently picked up and absolutely love relaxing in someone’s arms. · With Children: I haven’t had experience with children under 13 yet, so we don’t know exactly how I would interact with younger kids. Gentle and supervised introductions would be best. · With Dogs: I’m friendly and social with other dogs. I happily approach both familiar and unfamiliar dogs to say hello and invite them to play. If another dog becomes too pushy or confrontational, I’m more likely to move away than escalate the situation. · With Cats: I haven’t had enough experience around cats yet for us to know how I would behave living with one. A slow and supervised introduction would be important if my future family has a cat.   MY ENERGY LEVEL I have a moderate energy level and a nice balance between activity and relaxation. I enjoy spending time outside, exploring, playing, and experiencing new things. Once I’ve had enough activity, though, I’m able to settle down and enjoy some quiet time. And if that quiet time happens to involve curling up with my person, even better! Since I’m only seven months old, I’m still growing, so my personality and activity needs may continue to develop as I get older.   MY WALKING SKILLS I’m currently learning how to walk nicely on a leash. I may pull sometimes because the outside world is still full of interesting things to explore, but overall, I follow my person well. I’m still young and learning, so continued positive reinforcement, patience, and practice will help me become an even better walking companion.   MY HOME LIFE & MANNERS For such a young pup, I’m already showing some wonderful qualities. I’m generally very quiet and rarely bark, and I settle calmly when I’m in a kennel. I currently use both indoor pee pads and outdoor potty areas. Since I’m still young, I’ll need my future family to continue reinforcing a consistent potty routine as I adjust to my new home. I also show no food guarding toward people or other dogs. I’m still figuring out what life as a family dog is all about, but I already have a sweet and gentle foundation to build on.   WHAT I’M STILL LEARNING At seven months old, there’s still so much of the world that’s new to me. I’m continuing to work on leash manners, potty routines, household expectations, and building confidence around new people and experiences. When I first encounter something unfamiliar, I may need a little time before showing you my true personality. I do best when I’m allowed to approach at my own pace rather than being rushed. A little patience, positive encouragement, and a tasty treat can go a long way with me. And once I feel safe? You might suddenly find that the shy puppy you met is now following you everywhere.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m still young and adaptable, so I could potentially thrive in many different types of homes. I’d love a family who understands that I can be a little reserved at first and is willing to give me the time I need to build trust. I don’t need to be rushed—I just need the chance to learn that I’m safe with you. Since I’m social with other dogs, I could potentially live with a compatible canine sibling as well. My future family should be ready to continue my training, help me experience new things positively, and give me a healthy balance of activity and rest. Most importantly, I’d love people who enjoy affection as much as I do. Because once you become my person, there’s a good chance your arms will become one of my favourite places in the world.   WHY YOU’LL LOVE ME Maybe the first thing you’ll notice is my soft black coat. Or maybe it’ll be my big, round eyes and the sweet way I look up at you. But the best part of me takes a little longer to discover. I may act shy when we first meet, but underneath that hesitation is an incredibly sweet and affectionate little boy. Give me a treat, some patience, and a chance to trust you, and soon I’ll be following you around and asking to stay close. And when you pick me up and hold me? I might just relax so completely that I start drifting off to sleep in your arms. My beginning may have been uncertain, but I’m learning that life can be gentle. Now I’m looking for the person whose arms can finally feel like home.   TWIX’S YOUTUBE PLAYLIST   Apply to foster or adopt:  https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com   ##2853464##

I’m a sweet, playful little boy who can be a tiny bit shy when we first meet. But here’s my secret: treats are definitely the way to my heart! Offer me something yummy, give me a little time, and my shy act disappears pretty quickly. Once I decide you’re my friend, I become affectionate and will happily follow you around. When I really trust you, I’ll even roll over and show you my belly. And did I mention that I love toys? Playing is one of my favourite things to do, and my playful side really comes out when there’s a fun toy involved. I also have a pretty unique look. My body has short fur, but the fur around my ears grows longer, giving me an adorable look all my own. Add my short little legs and white “socks,” and I’m pretty hard to resist! I may need a moment to get to know you, but once I do, you’ll discover a loving, playful little shadow who wants to stay close to his people.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I can be a little reserved when I first meet someone new, but I warm up quickly—especially with the help of treats! I may pull sometimes because there are so many interesting things to see and smell, but overall, I follow my person well. I’m still young and learning, so continued practice, patience, and positive reinforcement will help me develop even better leash manners. I’m continuing to work on leash manners, potty routines, household expectations, and building confidence in new situations. Sometimes I may seem shy when something—or someone—is unfamiliar. Give me a treat, a little patience, and maybe my favourite toy, and pretty soon I might be following you around wondering where you’re going next. I’m sweet, playful, gentle, and social with other dogs. I rarely bark, I know how to settle, and once I trust you, I’m happy to show you just how affectionate I can be. And then there’s my look—my short little legs, adorable white socks, and those uniquely fluffy ears give me a charm that’s completely my own. My beginning wasn’t the easiest. I once lived tied up on a mountainside without knowing where I might end up. But that part of my story is over. Now I’m ready for toys, adventures, belly rubs, and a family I can follow around for the rest of my life.   KITKAT’S YOUTUBE PLAYLIST   Apply to foster or adopt:  https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2853467##
