Wayward Henson is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home!    Wayward is a sweet, 1-year-old boy with a tender heart. He's very shy and still learning to trust people. He isn't comfortable coming up to new people yet, and he may retreat to a corner and shake when someone tries to pet him. He'll do best with an adopter who lets him set the pace. He is pee pad trained. If he goes outside, he'll need a securely enclosed yard. He gets along well with other dogs. Wayward is bonded with Rayne and will need to be adopted together with her. He always checks to see where she is and cries if he can't find her. Having her by his side gives him confidence. Rayne Henson is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home! Rayne is a sweet, loving girl who is happy and friendly with everyone she meets. She's still a little shy at first, but once she warms up, she is a total cuddle bug who loves being right by her human's side. She's great with kids, and she doesn't bark at all. She also does well on car rides, so she's ready for adventures. She is pad trained and is working on perfecting her potty skills. She goes outside to do her business in the yard and will need to be kept on schedule to keep working on her housetraining. She has never been walked on a leash, so that's a work in progress, and would do best with a secured area. She is still getting used to the concept of a harness - it's all so new! Rayne and Wayward are bonded and will need to be adopted together. They will need a patient adopter who can help their build confidence at their own pace.  The two sleep side by side and do pretty much everything together, and she's always checking on him and comforting him. DOB 12-7-2024 Wolfie is a gorgeous Red and White Long Hair! This beautiful boy loves everyone, likes to play with toys and his friends. He is neutered, heartworm negative and has received a Proheart6 preventative injection, up to date on shots and is now looking for a loving home. His adoption fee is 900.00 and his transport fee is 135.00. HEARTS is our transport, they run every 2 weeks. It's the best transport and the only one we will use. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

This silly boy is full of energy, curiosity, and love — basically a furry toddler who keeps life exciting.  Leo would   love   a fenced-in yard where he can zoom around and explore, and he’d be thrilled to have another playful dog (or a few!) to wrestle and romp with. He’s all about fun, cuddles, and a little bit of mischief — you’ll definitely want to keep an eye on your shoes, because this charming “devil child” likes to test his limits in the most adorable way.  No condo or apartment living for this boy as he is very vocal.  Leo is working with a trainer on stranger danger. He becomes vocal and will retreat.  The trainer feels he is best suited for an older, energetic retired or work from home couple.     With his goofy grin and happy heart, Leo will bring laughter and love to any family lucky enough to call him theirs.     *** As part of the adoption donation this pup will participate in FOA's spay/neuter program or other programs available through FOHA. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation.
