A giant helping of joy in a pint-sized package, Ember Joy is a sponge for belly rubs! Whether you're looking for a hiking buddy or a napping companion, she's happy to fit into your life as your new best friend. Extremely affectionate, gentle, quiet, and calm, this three-year-old Dachshund mix loves walks, chew toys, and cuddling under the covers. Her well-balanced personality is suitable for families of all shapes and sizes. Ember Joy likes to be the center of attention, so she would do best without other animals in the house unless they're extremely chill and low-key. She rarely barks, unless she senses a threat, and is housebroken, crate trained, easily led/corrected, and well-behaved aside from the occasional hop onto the couch. She's eager to make the perfect addition to a loving home. Medical Note: This dog has tested positive for exposure to ehrlichia. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
