Story
Holly is a sweet grandma looking for her new home. She's 15 years old, but still loves to slowly chase a ball and romp outside. Holly weighs just under 16lbs. With her long body we believe she is part dachshund. Holly came to us after her owner went into assisted living. She is a very sweet girl who still has a ton of love to give. Holly only has one eye due to a past issue but she gets around just fine and you would never know. Holly is great with every dog she meets and only barks when she wants food. She has an incredible appetite and is a certified member of the clean plate club. Holly is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. She recently had full bloodwork which showed slightly elevated kidney values which should be monitored with regular bloodwork. Holly also has a lot of "old lady bumps" on her skin that are not concerning, but should be watched. She's currently on an antibiotic for anaplasma (a tick-borne illness), but showing no signs of active infection. We're hoping to find Holly a comfortable home for her remaining months or years. Story
It is with great sadness I am rehoming Murray, who I have had for 17 months. The reason is that he has noise sensitivity to many outside sounds that prevent me from giving him his best life. I live in a condo on a busy street and when I take him for walks, he often hears things that frighten him and just wants to go home. It could be a loud motorcycle, loud cars, a banging sound, sometimes even a loud airplane. He didn't start showing these fears until he was about 18 months, and I realize after a year of dealing with it, he truly needs a home with a yard. I am looking for a loving, dog experienced person or family who has a fenced in yard, and a nice dog who would like a best friend to play with. Murray is sweet, smart, and weighs 40 lbs. He's extremely cute and likes women, children, most men, and dogs. He's a good watchdog and is alert and sensitive. I don't know if he's had any cat experience. He's housebroken and hasn't done any damage when left alone.

ALL our cats and dogs are in the NY area but can be adopted out of state to the purrfect furever home.  In some cases, we can help transport.  Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions  follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)       Sweet 3m old Johanna from Puerto Rico.  All dogs are located in NY/NJ area All our puppies need puppy play dates/doggy facetime so we recommend homes with other pups or daily interactions to keep them tired out, happy and social.     Facebook: Zani's Furry Friends ZFF (weekly adoption event info posted there) Twitter: zanisff  Instagram: zanisfurryfriends   Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, Rabies vaxed, and microchipped (not Lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it!)  All are in the NY/NJ area but we will adopt out of state to the purrfect home and in some cases, we can arrange transport.  Please go to our site  https://zanisfurryfriends.org  fill out an application  Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent--please ask by writing us at dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application early Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too.   Please consider providing a home for more than one dog, especially if you are considering adopting a puppy. Dogs are pack animals and very much enjoy as well as need other dog company to learn to play, socialize and be good companion animals to people. The upside to this is that you won't feel as guilty leaving them alone and you get twice the love. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer, and you can always donate! If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us info@zanisfurryfriends.org closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet.  It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events. Our weekend locations are: Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent  Follow us on FB, Zani's Furry Friends ZFF, for latest updates. Usually we are in our foster homes so all this is a bit more stressful but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer. And you can always donate:) Cats and Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD w/ all age appropriate shots and microchipped. Cats are feline combo tested for FIV/FeLV; dogs are heartworm tested and rabies vax'd, (NOT lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it); rabbits are spayed/neutered. Please fill out an application and email to: For Cats: cats@zanisfurryfriends.org For Dogs: dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org For Rabbits: nyc.acc.rabbits@gmail.com. Please visit our website zanisfurryfriends.org. Story
DOB 12-7-2024 Wolfie is a gorgeous Red and White Long Hair! This beautiful boy loves everyone, likes to play with toys and his friends. He is neutered, heartworm negative and has received a Proheart6 preventative injection, up to date on shots and is now looking for a loving home. His adoption fee is 900.00 and his transport fee is 135.00. HEARTS is our transport, they run every 2 weeks. It's the best transport and the only one we will use. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.
