You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Samantha and Josie, a sweet bonded pair looking for a loving forever home. These girls share a very special bond and must be adopted together. They really do love each other. They are perfectly comfortable doing their own thing throughout the day, but when it’s time to settle down, you can almost always find them snuggled up together. They nap together, sleep together, and clearly find comfort in having each other nearby. Samantha is a larger Dachshund mix at around 20 pounds who came to us already missing one eye. We don’t know how or when it happened, but it certainly hasn’t stopped her from enjoying life. Samantha is all about her person. She likes to stay close to wherever the action is, especially if affection or food might be involved. If you have a lap available, Samantha will happily volunteer to fill it. She can be a little unsure of strangers at first and may bark until she feels safe, but once she trusts you, she is incredibly affectionate and loyal. Josie is around 25 pounds and is the more independent and investigative of the two. She was very shy when she first arrived in foster care, but she has blossomed beautifully. Josie enjoys heading outside with the bigger dogs to investigate everything happening. She enjoys her independence but never strays too far from the ones she loves. Both girls enjoy the company of other dogs and are much more interested in companionship than toys, although Samantha will occasionally enjoy a Nylabone. They are crate trained and do well eating and sleeping in their crates, but given the choice, they would much rather be curled up somewhere comfortable together. Josie is still working on potty training and continues to make progress. They have not been tested with children or cats because their foster home does not have either. Samantha and Josie don’t need to be attached at the hip every minute of the day, but they always seem to find their way back to each other. Their bond is incredibly sweet, and because of that, they will only be considered for a forever home where they can remain together. They’ve already found their best friend in each other. Now they just need a family to love them both.
