Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  Meet Waldo Waldo is a sweet, soulful 7-year-old Dachshund with the kind of personality that instantly makes you feel at home. He adores curling up under blankets, snoozing in a cozy dog bed (or yours!), and spending quality time relaxing in a recliner with his people. His gentle, affectionate nature makes him a wonderful companion. Waldo gets along well with dogs of all sizes and has a calm, loving demeanor. He’s truly a cuddle-bug who just wants to be close to his humans. Medically, Waldo has Degenerative Valve Disease (advanced) and is currently classified as Stage B2. He is stable and doing well on Vetmedin 1.25 mg, one tablet twice daily, which he takes without issue. His medication is very manageable and costs approximately $125 for 100 tablets through Chewy. Waldo recently had a dental cleaning with five problematic teeth removed and is feeling much better. A few things to note: Waldo can be a bit of an escape artist, so he’ll need to be supervised when outside. He is looking for a home with no children under the age of 10, where he can enjoy a calm, predictable environment. Waldo may have some medical needs, but he has so much love to give. If you’re looking for a devoted little companion who will happily snuggle beside you and warm your heart, Waldo may be your perfect match. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Medical Notes: Neutered Vaccinated Dewormed Microchipped Heartworm Negative ProHeart 12 Injection Senior Exam + Bloodwork (all levels within normal limits) - diagnosed with Degenerative Valve Disease (advanced)  of the heart, maintained on Vetmedin 1.25 mg - 1 tablet orally twice a day (costs $124.78 through Chewy.com for 100 tablets) Dental Cleaning with 5 problematic teeth being removed Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 25, 2026, 2:42 pm

Story
One Week with Si - Si has been with us for one whole week and oh the difference it has made! You still have to approach him slowly cause he gets a little freaked at fast movements, but he wags his tail a little when you talk to him now and he comes to you to pick him up so he can snuggle. Food is his love language. You have food, especially soft food, and you’re his bestie. He’s very much an old soul and just wants to lounge about, so no chasing balls or running laps for him.. lol. If you’re into lazy tv days, he’s your man!Day 4 - Si seems to have found the person he trusts in my 7 year old. He cuddles a lot more now too. Still skittish around people he’s not sure of or doesn’t know, but we’re getting there!Day 3 - Si has gone from wanting nothing to do with anyone to seeking attention from my oldest child and myself. I brought him to work with me today as well and he has also sought out attention from some of my coworkers. He truly is a sweet boy that just wants love and affection, but he is so unsure of everything considering his whole world was upended. He rarely tucks his tail between his legs anymore Day 2 - Si is coming more out of his shell and even gave me some kisses today  he wants so badly to be loved, he’s just anxious. I’m sure he’s going to make someone a great dog! People just need to remember the oldies need love too Day 1 - Si is a very sweet, but very timid boy. He’s kinda had a rude awakening with my loud crew  but I think he will eventually adjust. He’s already started to untuck his tail a bit and he took and nice nap with my daughter and I after a warm bath. I think he would be a great snuggler for someone once he warms up to you and realizes you’re not going to do anything bad to him. I’m hoping over the next few days he’ll come out of his shell more cause he breaks my heart when he’s all scared  he’s staying close to Marshall though and Marshall knows how to hang with the crazies, so I have no doubt si will get the hang of it. After all, the old guys gotta stick together right?  I’ll update more on his personality as I learn more! This is what a dog does when he discovers that his owners no longer want him. Poor Si has shut down. He has slept or pretending to for 3 days. Ever since he was taken to our vet. Now he sits in boarding still pretending to not notice that nice people are trying to help him feel loved again. Finally lifting his head a minute when he hears voice coming to adopt a different dog. When they leave his little head drops back down. Si needs time to recover. It will be hard iwhen he does not have a home to recover in. Please open your home to this poor soul.Available dogs are met by appointment only and pre-approved adopters ONLY.Our dogs are currently in a foster homes which can answer your questions better than anyone else. We promise our fosters that we will qualify all potential adopters before we ask them to communicate with potential adopters. The application is the first step.
