Story
Meet Tex – Your Loyal Little Lookout! 🐾 Tex is an approximately 2-year-old Dachshund/Chihuahua mix (or at least that’s our best guess), and he’s the perfect blend of small size and big heart. This sweet boy came to us from a rural shelter where he was very shut down and scared. Since arriving in his foster home, Tex has truly blossomed into a much more relaxed and confident pup. Now that he knows he’s safe, Tex enjoys the comforts of home life: lounging around, following his humans, and hanging out with the other dogs in the house. He’s also curious about the cats, though if they dart off too quickly, he might give a bark or two to let them know he noticed. Tex is an excellent little alert dog who takes his job seriously. If something unusual is happening around the property or if a sneaky squirrel dares to raid the bird feeder, Tex will sound the alarm. He’s got a great nose for mischief and will keep your porch squirrel-free. Tex would thrive in a calm, low-activity home where he can build a strong bond with his adopter. Once he knows he’s safe and loved, he’ll likely become your loyal little shadow. Tex is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines and preventions. Please note: Tex is only eligible for local adoption in the San Antonio area at this time. It took him several months to fully warm up in his foster home, and we are hoping to find an adopter nearby. If any issues arise, we want to ensure we can easily bring him back into our care. If you are in the San Antonio area and looking for a sweet and loyal companion, Tex might just be the perfect fit. Go ahead and submit an adoption application for him now! $200 Local Adoption Fee

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Henry – Forever Foster Needed   Henry is a 13-year-old sweetheart who prefers to be the only dog in the home. He loves nothing more than following his human around and curling up beside them for TV time or bedtime snuggles. While he isn’t a fan of being picked up, Henry has no trouble hopping onto the couch or climbing the stairs to join you.   Once he feels settled, Henry will shower his person with kisses and cuddles. He’s easy to medicate, happily taking his morning and evening meds when hidden in cheese or treats.   Henry does best as an only dog, so he’s looking for a quiet home where he can soak up all the love and attention.   Medical Details: Henry has a bad back, arthritis, and muscle tremors. He is on Gabapentin and Methocarbamol (muscle relaxer). Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Age: 7 years Breed: Dachshund   Meet Waldo Waldo is a sweet, soulful 7-year-old Dachshund with the kind of personality that instantly makes you feel at home. He adores curling up under blankets, snoozing in a cozy dog bed (or yours!), and spending quality time relaxing in a recliner with his people. His gentle, affectionate nature makes him a wonderful companion. Waldo gets along well with dogs of all sizes and has a calm, loving demeanor. He’s truly a cuddle-bug who just wants to be close to his humans. Medically, Waldo has Degenerative Valve Disease (advanced) and is currently classified as Stage B2. He is stable and doing well on Vetmedin 1.25 mg, one tablet twice daily, which he takes without issue. His medication is very manageable and costs approximately $125 for 100 tablets through Chewy. Waldo recently had a dental cleaning with five problematic teeth removed and is feeling much better. A few things to note: Waldo can be a bit of an escape artist, so he’ll need to be supervised when outside. He is looking for a home with no children under the age of 10, where he can enjoy a calm, predictable environment. Waldo may have some medical needs, but he has so much love to give. If you’re looking for a devoted little companion who will happily snuggle beside you and warm your heart, Waldo may be your perfect match. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Medical Notes: Neutered Vaccinated Dewormed Microchipped Heartworm Negative ProHeart 12 Injection Senior Exam + Bloodwork (all levels within normal limits) - diagnosed with Chronic Valvular Disease of the heart, maintained on Vetmedin 1.25 mg - 1 tablet orally twice a day (costs $124.78 through Chewy.com for 100 tablets) Dental Cleaning with 5 problematic teeth being removed Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 15, 2025, 2:41 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.&#226&#156&#168 Meet Porter! &#226&#156&#168 Porter was born in late September 2025, and he’s one of those pups who instantly wins you over with his charm. He’s built more like a Bassett — shorter legs, a solid little body, and an overall irresistible look that makes people fall in love fast. Porter is friendly, social, and loves being around his people. He’s the type who happily crawls into your lap or leans in for cuddles any chance he gets. Porter is working on his potty training in his foster home and doing well with a consistent routine. He enjoys playing with his siblings, exploring new things, and then settling in for snuggles once he's had his fun. If you’re looking for a loving, easygoing pup who’s as sweet as he is adorable, Porter might be the perfect fit for your family. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Charlotte — a true gem of a dog and the ultimate couch-potato cuddle bug! At around 2 years old and 47 lbs, Charlotte is the perfect blend of calm, sweet, and low-maintenance. She came to us pregnant, lovingly raised her puppies, and now that they’re weaned and she’s been fully cleared by our vet, Charlotte is finally ready for a family of her own. Charlotte enjoys short bursts of play but is mostly happiest curled up next to you on the couch or perched by a window watching the birds. She’s potty trained and leash trained. She would do best in a home with someone who is home a lot, especially while she settles in and builds confidence in a new environment. She does not do well with crating and will need a home where she is not confined to a crate. Charlotte is very dog-friendly and would thrive in a home with another dog for companionship. She finds comfort in canine friends, and as an only dog her foster could see her potentially developing separation anxiety simply because she bonds so deeply. Charlotte hasn’t lived with children, but she’s incredibly chill and non-reactive, even when her foster gently tested ears and tail handling. She could do well with respectful kids. She does have a high prey drive when it comes to squirrels, birds, and critters, so she’s not a good fit for a home with cats. If you’re looking for an easy, affectionate, low-maintenance companion who wants nothing more than to be near her people, Charlotte will be an incredible match. She’s a loyal, loving girl who will make someone very, very lucky. Medical Notes: Spayed Vaccinated Dewormed Microchipped Heartworm Negative ProHeart 12 Injection Maintained on monthly flea/tick preventions Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 16, 2025, 1:15 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. &#226&#156&#168 Meet Piper! &#226&#156&#168 Born in late September, Piper is an adorable Bassett Hound/Lab mix — that’s our best guess based on her looks and her sweet personality! Piper has the longer legs of a Lab compared to some of her littermates, giving her a unique and charming look. She’s currently working on her potty training in her foster home and is making great progress. This little girl can be a bit shy at first, but once she warms up, her loving and gentle personality shines. She’s a sweet, cuddly pup who just needs a little reassurance and patience to blossom. If you’re looking for a precious young pup with a soft heart and tons of potential, Piper might be your perfect match!
