Story
Unfortunately, we have to rehome him because he seems to be getting anxiety/nervous and aggressive towards our toddler. I wouldn’t be rehoming if it wasn’t for my child’s safety. He would be best in a house with only adults for this reason. And if any other dogs in home females would be best as that’s what he’s used to. A yard would be a plus since he’s always had a yard. He’s good around horses too! He will be 6 in August

Story
💛 Meet Dinky 💛 15 years young • Under 20 lbs • Gentle senior gentleman Hello, friends. My name is Dinky, and even though they say I’m 15, I sure don’t feel old. I’m a happy little lad with a big heart and a lot of love left to give. My life changed recently. My daddy passed away, and my mommy had to move into an apartment where I wasn’t allowed to go. I didn’t understand any of it — I just knew I suddenly needed a new place to belong. I still have my manly bits, and the doctors say I’m too old for that surgery now. I don’t mind… I’m just living my little life. Because my previous family didn’t take me to the vet very often, I needed a big dental cleaning when I arrived. I lost quite a few teeth, but don’t you worry — I still crunch my hard kibble like a champ. That canned stuff is icky anyway. 🐾 My Personality • I love cats and dogs of all sizes • I enjoy a good run if I slip out the door, but I always come back • Barn cats are especially fun to chase • I take a little time to warm up to new humans, but once I trust you, I’m loyal and loving • I can hop in and out of chairs like a pro and love to curl up and watch the world go by At night, I start out sleeping at the foot of the bed, then I hop down to snooze beside my foster brother — a BIG standard poodle. He makes me feel safe. 💛 What I’m Hoping For My foster mommy is wonderful, and I love her very much… but I’m dreaming of a quiet, gentle forever home where I can enjoy my retirement in peace. I adore cuddles, car rides, and being close to my people. I’m not a fan of the doctor’s office — every time I go, something unpleasant happens like shots or dental work — but I’m a brave boy and I try my best. If you have room in your heart and home for a sweet senior who just wants to be loved, please consider me. I would be so proud to call you my new mommy or daddy.

Story
Wendell is a young VERY SWEET daschund mix so has short little legs. He is mixed with who knows how many other breeds but he is cute as heck!  We know Wendell is coming to us with an injury and possibly a neuro issue so we will have him thoroughly vetted and he will remain coming soon until we know more. He is also still intact so we need to have him neutered as well.July 10, 2026, 10:03 am

Story
This adorable Wire-haired Dachshund is 5 years old and has the cutest whiskers and eyebrows ever going.  He is a calm and easy going 24 pounds boy that could stand to go on a reasonable diet and lots of daily walks during the week to slim down to a great weight for his long Dachshund body.  This boy is named Grins and he just lost his home because his senior mom entered a nursing home on Wednesday 5/27.  All that he needs in life right now is a new family/owner who will love getting up every morning to see his sweet happy face and to take him several times a day on a good walking/exercise program to trim down his extra pounds and get him to a good 20 pound body weight.  Less pounds means more good life for a Dachshund and Grins is at his prime time to change his food intake to higher quality.  He really needs to get out and see the world from the end of a leash!   His former mom has been bedridden for over 3 years and he has not been taken on walks in all the time. Now Critter Cavalry Rescue is taking him in to their foster program.  Grins might do best as the only dog in his new home.  He has a tendency to be bossy with other dogs sometimes.  It could be managed if he has a strong owner who knows how to be the boss in the house and not let Grins run the show.  He is in a foster now that has cats and he does great with them!.He is housebroken and knows what a pee pad is just in case you need that extra time away.  He is crate trained and does so well on a leash too!   Snickers is resilient, happy to go wherever  you take him and is adjusting to all the new sights, sounds and people in his life.  We would love a Dachshund lover who is experienced with the breed to give Grins a soft bed and a big heart filled with love as his next forever place.  If you are interested, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com    When inquiring please tell us where you live!!!        ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.
