Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Samantha & Josie ❤️ Samantha and Josie are a sweet bonded pair looking for a calm, loving home where they can stay together forever. These two girls came from the same place and have formed a special connection that brings comfort and confidence to each other, so they must be adopted together. Samantha is a larger Dachshund mix at around 20 pounds who came to us already missing one eye. Unfortunately, we don’t know how or when it happened, but despite everything she’s been through, Samantha is incredibly loving and just wants to be close to her people. If you have a lap, she’ll happily claim it! She can be a little unsure around strangers at first and may bark until she feels safe, but once she trusts you, she is affectionate, loyal, and happiest curled up beside you. Josie, around 25 pounds, was very shy and reserved when she first arrived in foster care, but she has blossomed beautifully with patience and love. She now enjoys interacting with her foster dog siblings, going outside, and following her people from room to room. Like Samantha, Josie loves being close to her humans and is happiest snuggled up nearby. Both girls enjoy companionship more than toys, though Samantha occasionally likes chewing on a Nylabone. They are crate trained and do well eating and sleeping in their crates, though they would much rather be cuddled up next to their people. Josie is still working on potty training and continues to make great progress. Samantha and Josie both thrive in a calm environment with patient people who can give them the time, affection, and reassurance they deserve. They have not been tested with children or cats, as their foster home does not have either. These girls have been through so much, but together they’ve found comfort, confidence, and friendship. Now they’re searching for a forever family willing to open their hearts and home to both of them. In return, Samantha and Josie will fill your life with loyalty, love, and endless cuddles. Story
This adorable Wire-haired Dachshund is 5 years old and has the cutest whiskers and eyebrows ever going.  He is a calm and easy going 24 pounds boy that could stand to go on a reasonable diet and lots of daily walks during the week to slim down to a great weight for his long Dachshund body.  This boy is named Grins and he just lost his home because his senior mom entered a nursing home on Wednesday 5/27.  All that he needs in life right now is a new family/owner who will love getting up every morning to see his sweet happy face and to take him several times a day on a good walking/exercise program to trim down his extra pounds and get him to a good 20 pound body weight.  Less pounds means more good life for a Dachshund and Grins is at his prime time to change his food intake to higher quality.  He really needs to get out and see the world from the end of a leash!   His former mom has been bedridden for over 3 years and he has not been taken on walks in all the time. Now Critter Cavalry Rescue is taking him in to their foster program.  Grins might do best as the only dog in his new home.  He has a tendency to be bossy with other dogs sometimes.  It could be managed if he has a strong owner who knows how to be the boss in the house and not let Grins run the show.  He is in a foster now that has cats and he does great with them!.He is housebroken and knows what a pee pad is just in case you need that extra time away.  He is crate trained and does so well on a leash too!   Snickers is resilient, happy to go wherever  you take him and is adjusting to all the new sights, sounds and people in his life.  We would love a Dachshund lover who is experienced with the breed to give Grins a soft bed and a big heart filled with love as his next forever place.  If you are interested, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com    When inquiring please tell us where you live!!!        ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Story
Peanut has a big dog personality and if he sees other dogs, he gets super excited, and the yipping sounds scary, but he just wants to play!! He's a nipper and he likes to jump on you out of excitement and although he LOVES kids, he should be in.a home with older kids Peanut is still young, and has plenty of energy to play and run.He has been known to be a runner- He will take off and think, it's a GAME and it will be hard to catch him, so careful at the doors nd fences ;) But smart sweet pup loves kisses and lay on your lap . He walks good on a leash i put 2 one on harness and collar since I don't want him to get loose. (harnesses are too easy to get out of, so a martingale collar is his best collar) He can upset a bigger or smaller dog if they don't have a tolerance for nippiness. In the face kinda of thing he loved to play and he runs super fast lol 😆 they would have to be extra careful that he never gets out of front.Door or takes off he laughing fast 😅 Poor little guy almost got run over on these big streets all alone, and we NEVER want that to happen to him again. So now you know more about the firecracker named Peanut. He is a doll!! ADOPT....DON'T SHOP!! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes tranport to your area)
