Hi, I'm Scooter! I'm an adult with an independent streak. I've got energy to burn and a playful spirit that will keep you on your toes. I'm happiest when I'm chasing after a squeaky toy or exploring the great outdoors. Dreaming of a big yard where I can run and play. A pool? Even better! I can't wait to make a splash. I'm not just about fun and games though. I'm a loyal companion, always ready to lend a paw. I'm looking for a forever home where I can be my energetic, playful self. Why adopt me? I promise to fill your days with laughter, adventure, and unconditional love. -Neutered Male -22lbs -Fully Vetted -Heartworm Negative -Microchipped -Crate Training If you would like to meet me, come to Friendswood Animal Control - 3000 W Parkwood Ave. Friendswood, TX 77546 or call 281-996-3390.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.ATDR 3634Say hello to Hannah! She and her companion Hazel came into rescue when their human mom passed away and the vet convinced their dad to surrender them because he suffers health problems and has difficulty caring for these senior ladies. Both girls are now sharing life in a comfortable ATDR foster home, being well loved and cared for. Their foster mom says they are both as sweet as can be and get along well with the humans and other pups in the house. Even though they came into rescue together, they can be adopted together or not, but if not, they each need another doggy friend in their new home. Fourteen-year-old Hannah is a sweet old lady with a bit of hearing loss who loves her daily squirrel-hunting walks! She suffers from borderline Cushing’s and is being treated with herbal supplements. When not crated, she needs to go out pretty much hourly or she may have an accident…a small thing to do for enjoying the company of this precious senior girl. If you’re looking for a wonderful devoted companion to share all the good things in life with, please submit an adoption application for Hannah. She will warm your heart and your lap and love you more than you could ever imagine.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 25, 2024, 4:37 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.ATDR 3764 Meet Bella. She's a sweet senior chiweenie girl who came to ATDR via another rescue group. Bella was dumped at BARC by her owner, who requested she be euthanized. Bella was flea infested, missing patches of fur and was heavy heartworm positive. It hurts our hearts to know Bella was in that state of neglect as an 'owned' pet. She wasn't a stray. Bella has a grade 4 (out of 6) heart murmur but that doesn't slow her down one bit. Bella is full of spunk. Bella will finish her last heartworm treatment in early February and will be ready for a forever home of her own toward the end of that month. Bella is a little doll. Her foster mom says she loves having her. She is crate and house trained. Bella enjoys sunbathing outside. Even though it appears she prefers women, she enjoys being with people and gets along well with other dogs. Bella is a cuddle bug. She will make a fantastic little lap dog for some lucky adopter after she’s on the road to better health! Her ideal home would be with someone who is retired or works from home looking for a warm pup to share their comfortable chair or sofa with! Bella is a precious girl who loves her person! Please consider opening your home and your heart to this special senior baby and submit an adoption application for Bella! She’ll be the best little friend and companion you could ever hope to find! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.ATDR 3853This little cutie pie is Jake! How in the world he found himself on the euthanasia list at a shelter we will never know! Thank goodness for a wonderful lady who came to his rescue! When ATDR was contacted, there'a no way we could say no to this precious little guy! He is now sharing life in a comfortable foster home where it's reported that he's a bit shy at first but warms up in about 24 hours! He's just a baby and a bit scared of the bigger pups in the house, but he's great with all the dachshunds!Jake would love having another doggy friend near his size who would enjoy spending energy to play with him (close to non stop right now)! Jake prefers women and isn't a fan of men. If you're prepared for your heart to be totally stolen and you have the energy to keep up with a busy puppy boy, please submit an adoption application for Jake! With a lot of love, gentle guidance and patience, he will become the best friend and companion you could ever hope to find!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 9, 2025, 12:49 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.ATDR 3553Precious Phoebe is an outgoing, friendly, shapely girl with alot of pep considering the extra pounds she is carrying. She's now sharing life in an ATDR foster home where she will be enjoying a good spa diet and gentle leash walks in order to work toward losing about 25% of her current weight...she will definitely need to be kept on a measured diet in a forever home and never free fed which would give her the  convenience to graze all day. She sadly lost her home when the only family she'd ever known since being a tiny puppy decided they wanted big dogs and surrendered her to a rescue, walking away and never looking back. Phoebe will be well loved and well cared for with ATDR and we've vowed to help her get on a path to better health and find the perfect forever home for her where she'll be cherished and never homeless again.Sweet Phoebe is good with other dogs and gentle children. She does well on a leash, if slowly and not too far, and she rides well in a car. She definitely wants to be near her people and will lend a helping paw to clean flowerbeds. No accidents in her foster home yet; she seems to whine a bit and shift around when she needs to go outside. She sleeps well in a crate at night and enjoys the safely fenced yard at her leisure during the day often entertaining herself barking at the dogs next door and running after the cats! All in all, she's pretty quick for a chubby girl! If you're looking for a wonderful companion and best friend to love and share all the good things in life with, please submit an adoption application for Phoebe. She yearns to have someone of her own to love again...2.10.25 Update on Phoebe from her foster mom: She jumps for joy when I get out her harness and is so excited to get on with her walk! She actually does not walk until we turn around to go home -- she has become a runner and does so with a cheeky grin! Loves the outdoors AND her new best friend is a cat who has adopted her. She will bark and chase cats but when they stop so does she wanting to get close and kiss them. She does the same to her doggie friends who visit us. She is trying to learn to play chase with her doggie friends too. She is not slow in any way except when we head for home and then she dillie-dallies trying to extend her walk. She will be spayed on March 10 and then she should be good to go to a new forever home. Vet said her body fat has been replaced with muscle so we are on a good road!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 16, 2025, 11:49 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Matty Matters and Amazing Mazey Matty and Mazey. Two doggies, dumped on a road in Sargent, Texas, July of ‘23. Two little sisters alone and on their own. They took care of each other while they waited for someone to see them and take them in. MATTY … MATTY MATTERS!   Gold patches accessorize her short, silky black hair; she is very much an alpha girl. One could guess that in an alternate universe where doggies rule, Matty would surely be driving a shiny red Camaro. She likes to challenge the rules. She needs discipline, but learns fast. MAZEY … AMAZING MAZEY!   This little doggie just wants to please. She really wants too, but her sis can be very distracting. “Mazey see, Mazey do …”  She is very apologetic though! Look into those eyes. About all you can say is, “Yes Mazey, you’re forgiven! Just don’t do it again, ok? I’m running out of socks …”     Amazing Mazey, she’s a little nurturer. Oh, and I am sure Mazey’s choice of cars would be, get this … a little yellow Volkswagen beetle. Yeah! (Oh: It kind of resembles the cat.)   Pull out the lawn chairs and sit down. Matty and Mazey will provide all the entertainment you need! We suggest you give them a fenced in the yard to bounce off of. They love, love, love to run, tumble and play! The girls are almost two years old now. They have had their shots, are spayed and are well cared for. (All records are listed with Matagord Veterinary Clinic in Bay City.) We must find a loving forever home for these two precocious girls due to the fact we already had two doggies to begin with (and two kitties as well) when Matty and Mazey moved in. Wanting to travel … we must make this hard choice. Thank you for checking us out.                                               *****************These two precious babies are ready to move right into your home and your heart! If you would like to make Matty and Mazey a loving part of your life and family, please contact Sharon at lightningbug77@yahoo.com.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 6, 2024, 2:57 pm
