Story
We took Gizmo in from a home that was a borderline hoarder home in September of 2022. He came from a not nice situation and was a very shy but friendly dog. He is an incredibly sweet and very soft dog that needs lots of love and attention. We have 2 children and 2 other dogs and he gets along with everyone very well. He needs a person to be his person! With my time and attention being focused on 2 children and divided between 2 other dogs, he doesn't get the individualized love and attention he needs and deserves. We have wrestled with the idea of finding him a new home and while we really don't want to give him up, he really deserves someone who can dedicate their love and time to him. He has been an inside dog his whole life, but we do have a problem with him marking in the house. I believe that is due to his needs not being met. We would love to find that special someone to be his forever home seeing as he has been through enough already! Let's talk and see if you're his home!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.vetting completeMeet Archie – Your New Best Nap Buddy! Archie is a super sweet, laid-back gentleman who loves nothing more than relaxing and catching some Zzz’s. Whether it's a cozy nap or basking in the morning sun by the window, Archie is a pro at soaking up the calm moments in life. He's fully house-trained and will politely go to the door when he needs to potty. Archie prefers to be on a leash when outside, making him easy to manage on walks or potty breaks. He gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes and has a friendly, gentle demeanor with everyone he meets. While he seems to have a slight preference for men, he’s happy to accept love, hugs, and pets from both men and women. Like many seasoned dachshunds, Archie has some hearing loss, selective or otherwise  — but it doesn’t slow him down. He’s incredibly mellow and doesn’t have an aggressive bone in his body, even around food. In fact, he’s very treat motivated, which makes him a breeze to work with. Archie's favorite part of the day? Mornings — when he can curl up in his bed by the window and soak in some sunshine. He calls it solar charging, and we think he’s onto something! If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate companion with a heart of gold, Archie might just be your perfect match.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 27, 2025, 6:04 pm

She can be a bit defensive and will take her some time to get used to somebody. But once she gets used to you she’s the sweetest thing. Loves getting rubs and cuddling as well as giving lots of kisses. She’s very calm and a perfect lap dog.
