After spending all 9 years of his life with the only family he'd ever known, Max Justice found himself looking for a new beginning when his family welcomed a new baby and could no longer keep him. While having to leave everything familiar behind has been a big adjustment, Max hasn't let it dampen his sweet spirit. This handsome 8 lb tan wirehaire is a gentle little guy whose favorite place is wherever you are, especially if that means curled up in your lap. Max is happiest when he's snuggled close, soaking up all the love and attention he can get. Max gets along well with other dogs and has lived successfully with children, making him an easy companion for many types of families. He has a calm, affectionate nature and would love a home where he can enjoy leisurely walks, cozy naps, and plenty of cuddle time. After losing the only home he's ever known, Max deserves a family that will cherish him for the rest of his life. He has so much love left to give and is ready to become someone's loyal shadow and best friend. If you're looking for a sweet, devoted companion who fits perfectly in your lap, and even better in your heart, Max Justice is ready to meet you. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Vetting complete Meet Petey!  Petey is a 3-year-old, 14-pound bundle of joy with a smile that can brighten anyone's day. This handsome little guy had a rough start after being found as an injured stray. Because of his injury, his tail had to be docked, but don't let that fool you. If Petey isn't sleeping, he's wagging what he has left with pure happiness! Life as a beloved pet is still a new adventure for Petey, and he's embracing it one day at a time. He has a big appetite and not just for food, but for love and attention, too. He adores being close to his people and is happiest curled up in a lap or soaking up affection. He's eager to please, even-tempered, and has been described by the veterinary staff as a "super sweet, happy boy." Like many former strays, Petey hasn't quite forgotten that food can be scarce. He's an enthusiastic little trash scavenger, so keeping tempting snacks and garbage out of reach will help set him up for success. With consistency and patience, he's continuing to learn what it means to be a cherished family member. Petey can be a little protective when first meeting new people, but once he realizes you're a friend, his sweet and affectionate nature shines through. He rides well in the car, gets along with other dogs, is great with adults, and is always ready to be your loyal sidekick. Petey has overcome a difficult beginning and is now looking for the happy ending he deserves. If you're searching for a devoted companion with a heart as big as his smile, Petey is ready to wag his way right into your life. Petey is proof that sometimes the sweetest souls just need someone to give them a second chance.       Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 16, 2026, 12:26 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.ATDR 3910Meet Mylo! This puppy boy is every bit as sweet as he is handsome! He loves his foster home with so many other pups to play with! The grub is good too thanks to his foster mom. He's going to need a doggy friend who's up to playing nonstop, as well as parents who can keep up with him in a forever home. A securely fenced yard where he can spend energy will be a big help also. Mylo is super active and agile, he would make a great agility dog!  He is fast and loves the highest level of activity. A more precious boy there never was! He is sweet and ever so gentle. He's a good snuggler too! If you think you're up to the task of sharing life with with this little cutie, please submit an adoption application for Mylo! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.ATDRBrownie came to rescue via the League City Shelter, where she found herself after her owner went to the hospital. This sweet girl spent her entire life in one home and was surrendered by a relative when the owner was unable to care for her. After a much needed dental, Brownie has started feeling better and eating soft food during her recovery.  Brownie needs a quiet and calm place to land. Someone that will let her nap and snuggle and never worry about winding up in a shelter again. If you love sweet seniors and have a place in your heart for the old ones -- Brownie is worth the effort! She does her best outside and is so easy to live with! She's good with other dogs, but happy to take a space on the couch or recliner and just be a quiet loving companion!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 16, 2026, 12:02 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.ATDR 3883Meet Cannoli, a beautiful petite black and tan piebald female about five years old. Cannoli is an active girl who loves other dogs and plays hard with the other dachshunds in her foster home. She grew up as an only dog and is finally learning to play and chase around the yard to her heart's content. Cannoli was surrendered when she exhibited some nippy behavior with the men (husband and young teenaged son).  She is a sweet girl, but it takes her a while to trust and we consider her somewhat slow to warm up to strangers. Once she knows you, she will stick like glue to her person.   We don't recommend a home with small children; we feel that she has been through a lot in her short life that probably an adult only or young adult home is best. Other dogs are a plus and help her settle in and adjust. Once she knows and trusts you she only wants to please!   She will require a little patience and understanding but she will make a wonderful lifelong companion.  Consider giving her a chance, she is worth it!    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 16, 2026, 12:02 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.ATDR 3881Hi there! My name’s Lucy, and I’m a 12-year-young rescue pup who was just sprung from the shelter in the nick of time! They were about to euthanize me, but now I’m living the dream with my awesome foster family. I’m a little underweight at the moment, but I’m going to fill out and be the cutest, small standard-sized lady you’ve ever seen. I’m super active for my age (who says you can't be spry at 12?) and love to keep moving. But hey, I’m also a fan of lounging in the big bed after a busy day, or chilling in my kennel – both work for me. Now, I’m a quick learner – it took me just 15 minutes to figure out the doggie door! I’ve had a couple of accidents, but that’s no big deal. I’m getting the hang of this whole housebreaking thing. I’m very treat and food driven, which is a great thing for training! You can use snacks to win my heart, though I’m not aggressive – I’m all about the love! &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 I get along well with other pups of all sizes, but those cats? They look kinda mean… I’ll need some time to get used to them. I was named Beautiful at the shelter, but my foster parents decided to call me Lucy, and guess what? I really like it and respond to it now! I’m looking for a family who wants a loyal, loving companion. I’m learning to be social, and with time, I know I’ll fit in perfectly. If you want a sweet, energetic girl who’s ready to bring joy into your life, pick me – I promise I’ll be the most loyal lady you could ever have!I love to be with other dogs but my most important person is my human. I'd rather be with my human. My perfect home will be with someone who is home most all the time as I do have separation anxiety when left without my human. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 10, 2026, 12:37 pm
