You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.ATDR 3764 6.25.25 UPDATE FROM BELLA'S PET SITTER: Bella is my houseguest while her foster mom is on vacation. She accepted me quickly and is very loving. She LOVES toys and snuggling in your lap. Bella can be a little bossy with the resident dogs, so she might be best as an only dog or maybe one other submissive dog in the household. She would be the perfect companion for someone looking for a calm, sweet little girl to snuggle with.                                  *****Meet Bella. She's a sweet senior chiweenie girl who came to ATDR via another rescue group. Bella was dumped at BARC by her owner, who requested she be euthanized. Bella was flea infested, missing patches of fur and was heavy heartworm positive. It hurts our hearts to know Bella was in that state of neglect as an 'owned' pet. She wasn't a stray. Bella has a heart murmur but that doesn't slow her down one bit. Bella is full of spunk. Bella will finished her last heartworm treatment and is ready for a forever home of her own. Bella is a little doll. Her foster mom says she loves having her. She is crate and house trained. Bella enjoys sunbathing outside. Even though it appears she prefers women, she enjoys being with people and gets along well with other dogs. Bella is a cuddle bug. She will make a fantastic little lap dog for some lucky adopter after she’s on the road to better health! Her ideal home would be with someone who is retired or works from home looking for a warm pup to share their comfortable chair or sofa with! Bella is a precious girl who loves her person! Please consider opening your home and your heart to this special senior baby and submit an adoption application for Bella! She’ll be the best little friend and companion you could ever hope to find! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.ATDR 3910Meet Mylo! This puppy boy is every bit as sweet as he is handsome! He loves his foster home with so many other pups to play with! The grub is good too thanks to his foster mom. He's going to need a doggy friend who's up to playing nonstop, as well as parents who can keep up with him in a forever home. A securely fenced yard where he can spend energy will be a big help also. Mylo is super active and agile, he would make a great agility dog!  He is fast and loves the highest level of activity. A more precious boy there never was! He is sweet and ever so gentle. He's a good snuggler too! If you think you're up to the task of sharing life with with this little cutie, please submit an adoption application for Mylo! With patience and gentle direction, he'll turn into the best little friend and companion you could ever hope to find. He's ready and waiting to share all the good things with you!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 10, 2026, 12:37 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.ATDRBrownie came to rescue via the League City Shelter, where she found herself after her owner went to the hospital.  This sweet girl spent her entire life in one home and was surrendered by a relative when the owner was unable to care for her.  After a much needed dental, Brownie has started feeling better and eating soft food during her recovery.  Brownie needs a quiet and calm place to land.  Someone that will let her nap and snuggle and never worry about winding up in a shelter again.  If you love a sweet senior and have a place in your heart for the old ones - Brownie is worth the effort!  She is good with other dogs, but happy to take a space on the couch or recliner and just be a quiet companion!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 12, 2026, 2:39 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.ATDR 3883Meet Cannoli, a beautiful petite black and tan piebald female about five years old. Cannoli is an active girl who loves other dogs and plays hard with the other dachshunds in her foster home. She grew up as an only dog and is finally learning to play and chase around the yard to her heart's content. Cannoli was surrendered when she exhibited some nippy behavior with the men (husband and young teenaged son).  She is a sweet girl, but it takes her a while to trust and we consider her somewhat slow to warm up to strangers. Once she knows you, she will stick like glue to her person.   We don't recommend a home with small children; we feel that she has been through a lot in her short life that probably an adult only or young adult home is best. Other dogs are a plus and help her settle in and adjust. Once she knows and trusts you she only wants to please!   She will require a little patience and understanding but she will make a wonderful lifelong companion.  Consider giving her a chance, she is worth it!    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 12, 2026, 2:39 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.ATDR 3881Hi there! My name’s Lucy, and I’m a 12-year-young rescue pup who was just sprung from the shelter in the nick of time! They were about to euthanize me, but now I’m living the dream with my awesome foster family. I’m a little underweight at the moment, but I’m going to fill out and be the cutest, small standard-sized lady you’ve ever seen. I’m super active for my age (who says you can't be spry at 12?) and love to keep moving. But hey, I’m also a fan of lounging in the big bed after a busy day, or chilling in my kennel – both work for me. Now, I’m a quick learner – it took me just 15 minutes to figure out the doggie door! I’ve had a couple of accidents, but that’s no big deal. I’m getting the hang of this whole housebreaking thing. I’m very treat and food driven, which is a great thing for training! You can use snacks to win my heart, though I’m not aggressive – I’m all about the love! &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 I get along well with other pups of all sizes, but those cats? They look kinda mean… I’ll need some time to get used to them. I was named Beautiful at the shelter, but my foster parents decided to call me Lucy, and guess what? I really like it and respond to it now! I’m looking for a family who wants a loyal, loving companion. I’m learning to be social, and with time, I know I’ll fit in perfectly. If you want a sweet, energetic girl who’s ready to bring joy into your life, pick me – I promise I’ll be the most loyal lady you could ever have!I love to be with other dogs but my most important person is my human. I'd rather be with my human. My perfect home will be with someone who is home most all the time as I do have separation anxiety when left without my human. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 10, 2026, 12:37 pm
