This is Ella. She was hit by a car in November of 2023. She has full healed and has no lingering problems. I picked her up off the road and paid for her vet care. She has all shots, but is due in November for her annual shots. She is a sweet girl who minds well. She is good with cats. I have 3 cats and my daughter fosters cats, so she is used to cats and respects their space. She is very loving. She is high energy and loves to walk, ride in car and run outside. She is crate friendly. Likes to snuggle on couch. I have 4 additional dogs so unfortunately I can not keep her. She is a good watchdog and will bark when invaders are invading, but will shush when you tell her to.

Hello world.... My name is Alika, which means beautiful! I am one of 14 little dogs recently taken to a shelter to assist with rehoming. As you can imagine, coming from a home with 14 little dogs, I am very good with other dogs. I am very sweet and friendly! I am about 17 pounds and around 12 years old. I am in rough shape due to lack of routine care from my former owners. I am missing fur due to flea dermatitis and currently have eye and ear infections that are being treated. I am considered special needs due to my age and poor eyesight but am so happy to have love and care now. I am looking for a place to live out my golden years with nothing but love. Come meet me one Saturday! Love, Alika This rescue is a partnership between Second Chance Pets and Bay Area Pet Adoptions. While some of the pups are in foster care, the others are being housed at BAPA. Second Chance Pets volunteers will slowly rotate some of the pups through foster care to get to know them. We really cannot speak to how all of them will do in a home just yet. There are just too many to place all in foster care right now. While some of the pups are in better shape than others, all will receive veterinary care. All came covered in fleas so are missing fur. This is a work in progress for sure! Adopter for this dog must reside in the immediate Houston/Galveston area and be at least 25 years old. A home visit may be required prior to this dog going to any home. Stu may have had a rough beginning to his life but that hasn't left him bitter. He is eager to give and receive affection. Stu is his foster mama's shadow; wherever she goes, he follows. He is getting along well with his two dachshund foster sisters, but mostly just wants human attention. His little face has a lot of character - you'll have to see the smile on this boy yourself. Stu is working on house training and doing very well. He will stay in his crate when foster mama leaves the house, but for sleeping he wants to be in the big bed, right next to the object of his affection. He is a little shy and timid at first but has been warming up quickly and showing signs of playfulness, just started giving kisses, and loves belly rubs. His whole coat is velvet-soft, which is perfect for all the hugs and cuddles he wants to give. Stu has a funny little quirk which is snapping at imaginary flies. Loud noises and sudden movements scare him a bit and currently he is not a fan of baseball on TV due to the movement, but we are determined to make him an Astros fan. He gets along with his foster brother and sister. He is a great eater and is food motivated!!! Brolie sleeps all night quietly in his kennel and loves following his foster mom and sitting in her lap. Brolie is working on not marking his territory in the house, however, he does well going outside to potty... you just have to make sure to prompt him.
