Story
Located in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders. This girl was brought in with babies when her owner couldn't take care of her. She was not socialized very well so will need some work. She will need a very patient person to get her to come out of her shell. She was kept outside so she has no house manners, nor has she been with cats. She does do well with dogs her size and seems to like to play with them. She deserves a new chance to be a loved dog and companion. She will take a lot of time and investment but deserves a chance!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Presenting Fred, chiweenie mix, reddish brown, neutered male, 8-10y+, 30lbs. Poor Fred found himself being surrendered at a shelter after his lifelong owner passed away and family decided they could no longer keep him. Fred is reportedly housebroken and would do best in a home without small children; he is pretty overweight and has some sore spots as a result. Fred is a sweet and just wants a quiet home and a person to stick to like glue! Fred needs a quiet house ideally without a lot of stairs. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Herbie was an owner surrender with some bad skin issues. Herbie went to the vet and got an antibiotic and a prednisone taper and some special shampoo. His skin already looks so much better, and he isn't scratching and crying constantly. His skin is priority one, but then we have another BIG thing to deal with-the lump he has is an inguinal hernia, so he has to have that prepared when he's neutered. And he will probably get a dental when he's under even though his dachshund teeth aren't terrible. Herbie is 8 years old, about 16 pounds, and is a sweet boy. He loves to wander around outside and sleep under the covers. He would like to let everyone know that "Herbie doesn't share food!" Herbie needs a private space for his dinner. Herbie is also housebroken! Herbie is being fostered in Charlottesville, VA, but would LOVE to get to a quieter place than Casa Urban. It's a lot for a sick middle-aged man to deal with. If you'd be able to give Herbie a place to crash while we get him fixed up, or if you'd like to foster to adopt Herbie while we get all his vetting done, please let us know! Herbie's adoption fee will be $300 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 16, 2025, 5:02 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. What can we say about Ollie?   Ollie's a cool little dude. He's about 15 pounds, he's 7 years old, he's fully vetted, he barks a lot but is friendly, and is just desperate for his own person. He came with Ruby, who has been adopted, and while he wasn't bonded with her, I think he was very used to being bullied/bossed around by her. He's starting to figure out who he is without the boss lady!   Ollie is currently testing out being bossy himself; he will growl at other dogs who try to get on the same lap he is on, but I think it's just him testing to see who he is without Ruby. He is overall good with other dogs, big and small, and is not all that interested in cats. He's just a nice dog. I think he would love to be an only dog or with one or two other littles. He does sleep and cuddle with Snowbella, who was one of the 4 dogs he was surrendered with.   Ollie is in Charlottesville, VA, and he is looking for his human(s)! Ollie likes men and women, and he's fine with other dogs and usually sleeps with them, but he definitely prefers sleeping with humans. He's a burrower! Ollie is a barker (can I just stop saying this? I think we all know all dachshunds bark-- a lot). Ollie is not quite sure about new humans at first, but he warms up quickly.   Ollie will need to be watched and kept on a strict potty schedule in a new environment, as he marks when he's stressed, but our house is chaos with so many dogs. I'm sure he will be just fine in no time.   Ollie's adoption fee is $300, and he is current on all of his vetting. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This is SnowBelle (Belle). Is she tiny? Sure. Ten pounds. Is she a cutey? Absolutely. Is she a menace? Heck yeah!! Belle is a year and a half old and is a crazy girl--she's all puppy! You might be asking what this little cutey could possibly do to be labeled a menace. Or you might be thinking, "Well yeah, she IS a dachshund". Belle bullies big dogs. Belle would do best with another small dog, because she likes to play and snuggle, but she is very nervous and barky with big dogs. Belle is okay with cats---curious. I think she might chase until she was smacked and then would be respectful. Belle barks. You know----like a dachshund. New people are scary; they must be barked at. Same with kids; totally scary at first, but then once they don't eat her, she's a love. Belle hangs out on furniture (she might actually BE part cat). How's her housebreaking? Not fantastic, but there is hope for her. She needs to be supervised and gotten on a routine. Belle is a cuddler---I mean, even for a dachshund she takes it to another level! She MUST be adopted by someone who is willing to let her sleep ON them. We have more pictures, but you get the idea. If you're looking for your very own live cuddling chaos, this is it.   Belle is being fostered in Charlottesville, VA. Her adoption fee is $400, and all of her vetting will be covered by K Kids.
