Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Presenting Fred, chiweenie mix, reddish brown, neutered male, 8-10y+, 30lbs. Poor Fred found himself being surrendered at a shelter after his lifelong owner passed away and family decided they could no longer keep him. Fred is reportedly housebroken and would do best in a home without small children; he is pretty overweight and has some sore spots as a result. Fred is a sweet and just wants a quiet home and a person to stick to like glue! Fred needs a quiet house ideally without a lot of stairs. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Update on Scooby (now Rudy) from Abingdon! From his amazing foster mom: It's hard to imagine a sweeter, more fun loving little guy than Rudy! He has spent two months in foster and is doing fantastic! When he arrived he seemed pretty bewildered by anything that had to do with living in a house, but has quickly taken to being part of a home and wants nothing more than to be involved with everything his people are doing. Need help cooking? He'd love nothing more than to be your sous chef. Want to go on a car adventure? He's the first to call shotgun. Want to go hiking or go exploring somewhere new? He's ready and able to help point out the best birds and squirrels. Need a cuddle buddy? He is a professional little spoon who believes firmly that the best sleep happens under a comfy blanket. Rudy was picked up as a stray with another dog, where they were likely dumped. He is a brindle mix of some kind and is approximately 7-8 months old and weighs 16 pounds and other than maybe filling out with another 2-3 pounds, is fully grown. He has done a good job of putting on weight since being in foster and is very food motivated. He is not food aggressive at all, but does have a hard time not sneaking any food that is left around, including from his foster dog sisters, so he does best when eating by himself so he's not tempted to grab some extra. He is doing really well with learning how to take turns when getting treats. He is great with kids and loves to be part of any playtime that is going on. He is also super excited to make friends with any dog he meets. He would do best in a home with a person/family that can give him a walk or playtime everyday. He would also do well with another active dog to play with since he loves to wrestle and run around. I imagine that he would be thrilled to take part in something like agility classes or hiking in the future. Coming from no experience, he has done great with potty training, but does need someone to provide some loving support to help him as he continues to learn. He can be somewhat hesitant around men when first meeting them and has perhaps had some bad experiences in the past, but with gentleness and care he quickly comes out of his shell and will love you with his whole wiggly being. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sydney came with her brother Benny, and we'd like to keep them together.  They would up at a rural shelter together.  Clearly someone "loved" Sydney with food!  She's already lost a little weight and is currently 56 pounds, which is something near double what she should weigh. Her foster mom is working on her weight, and she is having a Cushing's test done at the vet soon.  She is healthy otherwise.  She likes to hang out in the AC and roll around in the grass.   An adopter for Sydney will need to be willing to work on her weight loss journey and treat any additional conditions she is diagnosed with.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 13, 2024, 4:16 pm
