Story
Zoey is a playful one-year-old Basset mix with plenty of energy and room to grow. She is a lively, mischievous pup who will thrive in a home with an experienced family ready to provide the training and structure she needs. Her curious nose often leads her into mischief, so she’ll need guidance as she matures.Zoey would do best as the only dog in the home, as she has a bit of a pushy personality. She’s still working on her housetraining and sometimes forgets her purpose during walks. While she’s generally quiet, Zoey has a sharp eye for critters outside and is quick to bark at anything she spots through the window. She loves to play with toys and has a great time entertaining herself, often tossing them in the air and catching them with ease.Zoey is a happy, friendly, and curious pup who’s always on the go. If you’re ready to add a bundle of joy and adventure to your life, she’d love to meet you! Contact BROOD today to start your journey together. Her adoption fee is $100.00.**Only BROOD-approved adopters can meet a dog (no exceptions). Our adoption application is on the BROOD website at https://brood-va.org/adoptionapp/. Story
Meet Indy, a 5-year-old Basset mix with boundless energy, looking for his perfect country forever home. He’s an adventurous spirit who needs plenty of space to roam and explore—ideally in a location where his signature hound howls won’t disturb the neighbors (be sure to check out his video!). Indy can be a bit of a Houdini, so he’ll need a secure fence to keep him safe or a family with a very watchful eye.Indy is housetrained, loves long walks, and is always eager to be the center of attention. He gets along well with other dogs of a similar temperament and would do best in a home with older children, as his high energy could be a little overwhelming for little ones. A true pro at belly rubs, Indy will gladly entertain you with tricks for treats! He’s a quirky, lovable guy with a heart of gold, and he’s sure to be your best friend. If you’re looking for a loyal, adventurous, and sweet companion, Indy is the dog for you! Contact BROOD today to begin your adventures together. His adoption fee is $250.00.**Only BROOD-approved adopters can meet a dog (no exceptions). Story
Fuego may have a fiery name, but he’s as sweet and gentle as they come! This spunky 7-year-old Beagle-Basset mix was found as a stray, but he’s ready to settle into a loving home. His small size makes him a great fit for any living situation, including apartments and condos.Quiet as can be—except when he’s snoring (and trust us, his snores can rival any human’s!)—Fuego is house-trained, crate-trained, and so well-behaved that he can have free roam of the house. He loves spending time in the yard, nose to the ground, tracking scents like a true Beagle. He’s great with other dogs, adores snuggling with his family, and is always ready for snacks! The only thing he’s not a fan of? Car rides—so be prepared for a little drool cleanup if you take him on an adventure. If you’re looking for a sweet, easygoing companion who will fill your home with love (and maybe some snores), Fuego is your guy! Story
Zeus is a 9-year-old Basset mix who appreciates life’s simple pleasures—his favorite blanket, tasty treats, affection from his family, and a yard to explore. Though he can be a bit shy at first, give him time to adjust, and his personality will shine. Once he feels at home, he’ll greet his family with enthusiastic, tail-wagging hellos!Mostly housetrained, Zeus does best with a consistent potty schedule. He would thrive in a home with a fenced yard where he can satisfy his curiosity and take in all the scents. He gets along well with other dogs who match his energy level, but because he can startle at fast movements, he’d do best in a home without children.Curious, playful, and full of love, Zeus proves that good things really do come in small packages!! Story
***FENCED YARD REQUIRED***"Hello World, I’m Jax and I’m ready for my forever home where I can be your beagle buddy!I’m a pretty great guy! I’m initially shy but am super sweet if you give me the space and a chance. Once we trust one another I’m a “snuggle on the couch all the time” kind of guy or a BBFF - that’s a beagle best friend forever!I’m content with life’s simple pleasures - a lap around the block, sniffs in the yard, a ball to throw to myself, and don’t forget a comfy couch with a blanket for my head. Oh, and if you’d scratch my ears, that’d be grand!Beagle, yep, got that down, or well at least part of it. I love following my nose on walks and around the house and in the backyard and well, I like sniffing everywhere. Though, I’m the quietest one you’ll ever meet, rarely barking or making a peep.Little kiddos can be overwhelming to me, but another doggo friend who would help me continue to gain confidence would be the dream. I’m passive and respectful, happy to oblige, and patient to win their friendship, my heart’s desire.I’m well on my way to being crate trained, house trained, and practicing good house manners. All that to say, I might need a quick refresher but am well on my way!I’m decent on a leash, loving to sniff the world and every blade of grass along the way. Cars, sirens, and other city noises can sometimes be startling, so I’d appreciate a kind soul who would help me learn the ins and outs of the big world around me."Check out 2 more videos of Jax on our youtube channel:https://youtu.be/FOBgRDpk_p4https://youtu.be/pAPLJ18FpMQIf you are looking for a beagle buddy and your dog needs a dog, reach out to FCAR about me, Jax, joining your chill fam!Jax's date of birth is 09/17/2019 and he weighs about 26 pounds. All of our rescues are rehabilitated and once healthy are available for an adoption fee of $95 for cats and dogs.
