Backstory: Surrendered because raising a young dog was "too much work"
William never did anything wrong.
He wasn't surrendered for being aggressive. He wasn't surrendered for having behavior problems. He wasn't surrendered because he stopped loving his family.
He was surrendered because he was a young dog, and young dogs take time.
At just 8 pounds, William found himself losing the only home he knew through no fault of his own. One day he had a family. The next day, he was looking for a new one.
Despite the heartbreak of being surrendered, William has held onto his joyful spirit. This little Dachshund Chihuahua mix is playful, affectionate, and genuinely loves people. His tail seems to have a life of its own whenever he sees someone who might offer attention or playtime.
William also enjoys the company of other dogs and would likely love a canine friend to romp around with. He has the kind of happy, social personality that makes people fall in love quickly.
According to his surrendering owner, William was housetrained using a doggy door. His current foster home does not have a doggy door, so his new family should be prepared to help him learn a new potty routine and continue reinforcing his training as he settles in.
Like most young dogs, William still has energy, curiosity, and enthusiasm for life. He isn't looking for perfection. He's looking for someone willing to invest a little time, provide guidance, and understand that puppies and young dogs don't stay young forever.
What breaks our hearts is knowing that William lost his home simply for being exactly what he was supposed to be: a young dog learning about the world.
Now he's hoping for a family who sees his potential instead of his work.
A family that understands that patience today turns into loyalty for years to come.
A family that won't give up when life gets busy.
William has so much love left to give. All he needs is someone willing to give him the forever he deserves.

Fur Ever Yours Animal Rescue is based in Okanogan County (Eastern Washington), where our dedicated first-line foster homes are located and where veterinary care is most accessible. Because we cross-list our dogs in multiple regions to help them find the perfect match, you may see this dog listed in several cities.
For Small Dogs (Under 20 lbs): Once an adoption application is fully approved, we provide volunteer-based transport to designated meeting spots in Ellensburg, Leavenworth, Wenatchee, Moses Lake, or Brewster for Western/Central WA families.
For Eastern WA, Montana, or Idaho Families: We host pre-arranged adoption meet-and-greets in Reardan or Spokane Valley.
Please Note: We do not transport dogs sight-unseen without an approved application and processed adoption fee.
ADOPTION FEES & MISSION:
Our adoption fees do not purchase an individual pet; rather, they act as a direct donation that funds our entire rescue ecosystem. Because we pull medical cases, seniors, and neglected animals from under-resourced rural areas, your adoption fee is pooled directly into our medical fund. This directly supports the rehabilitation, dental surgeries, and specialized care of every single dog currently resting under our roof.
