Story
Duke loves to spend his days cuddling with people. He’s not much for kids but loves people over the age of 10. He’s great with cats and dogs. He loves to curl up in blankets and just stay cozy. He loves to run around with you and acts like a puppy when he’s playing! He has the greatest eyebrows- looks like the Madagascar penguins. He’s a real sweetheart and is just the biggest cuddle-bug.

Story
Marty Martin is a dapper doxy pup looking for love! Marty is a darling and loveable approx. 8 month old pup, learning what it means to be in a loving and stable home. What he needs now is his forever! Marty is petite, an easy take along buddy. He came to us from a situation where his owner was no longer able to care for him, so Marty made his way over to the west side of the mountains for a fresh start with us. With all the changes in his young life, Marty is looking for a home where the humans are around most of the time, he does great when he knows love and safety is nearby. Marty is still a puppy, needs stability, security, ongoing training and a lifetime committment. Marty has already received his neuter, will be up to date on vaccinations and Microchipped included in his adoption donation.

Story
Precious has been part of our family for many years and was originally our late great aunt’s beloved companion. She may be a senior, but don’t let her age fool you—she’s incredibly spunky, loves to run around, and can keep up with younger dogs! She also enjoys quiet time and will happily rest beside you. She was passed down to my mother, but due to my mom’s age and limited energy, she’s no longer able to give Precious the time and attention she deserves. With my busy schedule, I’m unfortunately unable to take her in. We’re hoping to find her a loving home where she can continue to thrive and be cherished.

Story
Haribo is a 1 year old Miniature Wire Haired Dachshund. He loves to cuddle and is happiest wherever you are. He is a quiet and low-energy guy who just wants to be near his people. Haribo would be a great match for a first-time dog owner, a semi-active couple or individual, a family with older, respectful kids who match his chill vibe, or a home with another friendly small dog. If you’re looking for a devoted companion who will go on walks, play a little fetch, attend your gatherings, and then curl up beside you at the end of the day — Haribo is your guy! Haribo has been a very good sleeper in his closed crate in the living room, sleeping quietly after settling after his last potty break at about 11pm and sleeping until about 6am. Haribo prefers to be outside in the yard for at least 10 minutes before going potty. He tried a 2ft x 5ft length of fresh sod on an upstairs deck, but he didn't take to it and did much better when out in the backyard with room to wander for a bit sniffing for a good spot. Potty pads are available inside, but doesn’t understand why they are useful yet. With a consistent schedule for going out and figuring out for how he asks to go out should solve the problem. Haribo has taken to the adult male person in the house and prefers his company but also looks to the adult female, just not as often. He is very quiet, only barking/whining for a bit on the first night when sleeping alone in the crate. He is a funny boy who is eager to please his people. He likes to play with toys, and enthusiastically brings a toy back when playing fetch, wanting the game to continue as long as possible. Haribo is a chill, easy-going boy that travels easily and quietly in the car and would make a great travel buddy. He is good with cats. He is a happy, funny boy who is full of silly Doxie expressions and antics that will make you laugh. He is a sensitive boy who wants to please his people and to be the best boy. Haribo will make a great companion and friend! -----

A Quick but Important Note to All Adopters:
Please remember that none of our dogs arrive fully trained. Most come from tough or uncertain beginnings and may have never lived in a home or known basic routines. That means:

✧ They are not potty trained on arrival. Most dogs regress in potty training when moving to a new environment.

✧ They may lack basic manners (like leash walking or appropriate chewing).

✧ They’re learning, growing, and doing their best—but they will need patience, structure, and compassion to succeed.

The majority of these pups have lived in the confinement of a cage or kennel run for most - if not all - of their lives. Because of this, we strongly discourage the use of crates for anything other than vehicle transport. They deserve the chance to decompress and learn what true freedom and comfort feel like.

Our amazing foster homes work hard to start these dogs on the right path, but they are rescues, not finished products. These dogs need time, consistency, and a loving home willing to meet them where they are.

Also, breed designations are our best guesses based on appearance and behavior. We can't guarantee breed, size, adult weight, or coat type.

A secure home and loving environment will allow him to continue growing in confidence and feeling safe. His Rescue Story At just 8 months old, Caramelo was found living at a plant market under heartbreaking conditions. He had been tied up with tape wrapped around his mouth to stop him from barking. A compassionate rescuer witnessed this and refused to look away. She advocated for him and brought him to safety. Though faint marks remain as reminders of his past, Caramelo has long since embraced love and security. Today, he is healthy, trusting, and patiently waiting for the forever home he so deeply deserves. Caramelo is proof that even after hardship, a heart can remain soft. Caramelo is waiting in Mexico for a committed trial family so he can travel north Adoption fee $600 www.northwestwagrescue.org ##2660202##
