This little guy is the definition of a lap dog and thrives in calm, quiet environments with people that enjoy having their dog with them wherever they are, and where he can enjoy the simple pleasures of life—like sunny naps, leisurely strolls, and cozy evenings on the couch. Tuck has experience living with other dogs, but he’d be perfectly content as the only dog in a home, especially with a singleton or older adult looking for a loyal companion. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.   It doesn’t stop there! Meet Remy! Remy came to WAG after she was found with a deceased owner. Pretty quickly, she warmed up to people and has shown us what a lively little dog she is. Born in 2024, Remy is still young and very energetic. She weighs in around 20 pounds, a great size for being small but not too small. Remy's ideal home will have an active family who can include her in their outings, a securely fenced yard for her to run around in, and someone willing to work with her to become a well-mannered dog. Although she has lived with another small dog in the past, she would do best as an only dog in the home.
