Story
**Charlie and Cody: Bonded Dachshund-Corgi Mix Brothers**   Charlie and Cody are gentle, reserved brothers, approx. 15 months old, both neutered. They were left at the shelter with their three sisters, and after being separated from them, the boys formed a strong bond. Now, they are affectionate and starting to enjoy life in the Pacific Northwest. They are gradually building trust with their foster family and getting used to their new home. Both are safe, well-fed, and comfortable. They are up to date on vaccinations and have no known health issues, so they are ready for adoption. Their foster home does not have a fenced yard, and because Cody and Charlie are still settling in, they have not yet started using harnesses or going for walks on a leash.  We hope the boys can be adopted together into a home with a fenced yard, so they have a safe place for potty breaks and can learn to walk on a harness and leash. Cody and Charlie might be shy at first, but they are curious and want to connect with people. They are motivated by food and will gladly take treats from your hand. They like being spoken to and respond well to a gentle voice. With time, patience, and love, they will become devoted companions. We prefer adopters who have experience with shy or untrained dogs, or who are open to guidance, to help the boys adjust smoothly to their new home. We do not know if they have been around children, so we recommend a home without kids or with children over 12. The Corgi-Dachshund mix, also known as a “Dorgi,” was first bred by Queen Elizabeth of the UK. Because they have a prey drive, they should not live with small animals or cats . **Adopting Cody and  Charlie **  To  adopt Cody and Charlie, please use the link below. One of our volunteers will review your application, follow up with you to ask questions, address any concerns, and see if you are a good match for these pups. If you are a match, the next step will be a meet-and-greet. Please use a computer to fill out the application, as tablets and cell phones may cause issues. The boys now eat a human-grade diet that avoids kibble and focuses on healthy, dog-specific food. We will teach their adopters about proper diet and nutrition. The adoption fee for adopting the boys together is $595 and includes neuter, all vaccines, and a microchip. www.smallpupsrescue.org  July 9, 2026, 3:15 pm

**Libby** Libby is a 15-pound, 3-year-old female Dachshund-Corgi mix. She was found with her daughter and two sons running with stray dogs that had been dumped in Fresno, California.  Libby is a sweet girl who would be perfect for a retired woman. She loves women and is more cautious toward men tho she will gravitate toward dog-friendly men with time and trust.                              Libby's ideal adopter(s) are a woman and someone experienced with abused rescue dogs. Libby is a bit of a couch potato, but with encouragement, she will walk on a harness and lead and explore with you.  Libby LOVES to cuddle with her person. she is extremely affectionate and once bonded, she becomes yours forever!!  She will be fine as an only dog as long as she has her person close by and is not left alone for long periods. She gets along well with other friendly small breed dogs. Libby is spayed and up to date on her vaccines and she is ready for her forever people **Adopting Libby** To adopt Libby, please use the link below. One of our volunteers will review your application and follow up with you to ask questions, address any concerns, and determine whether you are a good match for this pup. Story
**Meet Luna the Adorable Dachshund-Terrier**   Luna is a sweet and loving Terrier mix brought to Rompin Paws Rescue with her two sisters. Luna’s on a heartfelt quest to find her forever home. Initially, Luna may be a bit shy when meeting new people. Still, once she feels safe and loved, she blossoms into a delightful cuddle companion, eagerly seeking your affection and a cozy lap to snuggle on.   Luna is 2.5 years old and is gorgeous! What makes Luna truly special is her unique beauty—a shiny, slightly wavy black coat highlighted with silver streaks and a charming white chest. Luna loves to be groomed, held, loved, and play with dog buddies in the yard   Luna thrives in the company of other dogs, so she would be happiest in a home with at least one dog-friendly friend to play with. Imagine the joy of watching her grow and flourish in a loving environment, especially with a mentor dog to guide her. Your commitment to nurturing these relationships will be instrumental in Luna's journey to confidence and happiness. With her active lifestyle, Luna requires a fenced yard to run and play freely. She is an energetic bundle of fun, always ready to romp and frolic with her fellow furry pals in the spacious play yard at the rescue. A true social butterfly, she loves to soak up attention from everyone she meets, and her enthusiasm for running makes her an exceptional walking companion. Luna has the potential to excel in agility training and other fun activities! Bringing Luna into your home means welcoming a vibrant spirit who is playful, sweet, and affectionate. With consistent training, she will likely acquire a range of skills quickly. However, she’s still mastering the harness and lead; her determination to learn mirrors her sisters', making training an exciting adventure. Luna is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and ready to learn from her new adopters.   Are you ready to open your heart and home to Luna? The adoption fee is $395.00, with all funds directly supporting her care and allowing us to rescue even more needy dogs. Story
**Lexxi** Is a 16-pound, 1-year-old female Dacshund-Corgi mix found with hr sister, running with stray dogs dumped in an area of Fresno, California.  Lexxi is bonded to her sister, Libby, and we would love to see them adopted together. The adopter(s) will need to be very dog- and rescue-savvy, as both dogs are fearful of men. If there is a male in the home, he will need to be an equal partner in feeding and care in order to win their trust, as they will trust a woman first. From their foster:  Lexxi (black/tricolor ) is the quieter of the two and definitely appreciates her couch time. Now that she’s out of the noisy shelter environment, she’s really starting to blossom. With a gentle, steady home, she’ll continue to build her confidence. These two adore each other, bring zero drama, and are impressively quiet—they’d make absolutely terrible guard dogs, but perfect companions. The girls are up to date on vaccines and need to be spayed. Rompin Paws can work with the adopters to get them spayed at our vet, or they can take them to their vet. The current adoption fee does not include spaying costs. This may be updated if they are spayed prior to adoption. These pups are young and can be worked with to be lovely family members.  Their foster has begun working with them so that they have had harness and lead training, but will require more work. We do recommend a child-free home because of their anxiety and trauma from being dumped. They need a calm home with adults. If you have the time, love, experience, and willingness to help these two sweet girls work through their trauma so they can become loving and loved family members, we would love to chat with you. We are open to a foster-to-adopt period, so there is ample time allowed for the potential adopters to work with Libby and get to know her. **Adopting Lexxi** To apply to adopt, please use the link below. One of our volunteers will review your application and follow up with you to ask questions, address any concerns, and determine whether you are a good match for this pup. If a match is made, the next step will be a meet-and-greet. Please use a computer to complete the application, as tablets and cell phones may disrupt the process. Our pups are transitioned to a human-grade diet that avoids kibble, focusing instead on a healthy canine-specific feeding regimen. We will educate her adopters on proper diet and nutrition. Story
Meet Darrell! This tiny, ridiculously handsome little guy is about a year old and we believe he may be a Dachshund/chihuahua mix. With his short legs, speckled paws, expressive eyebrows, and permanent "I know something you don't know" grin, Darrell looks like he walked straight out of a cartoon. At first glance, Darrell can come across as a tough guy. In reality, he's more like a tiny security guard who takes his job a little too seriously. His job? Making sure his favorite people are safe and properly loved. Watch Darrell in action in his video! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTR5fmcZ9EM Once Darrell decides you're one of his people, you're in. He absolutely adores his trusted humans and turns into a total cuddle bug. He's perfectly lap-sized, loves curling up next to his family, and thinks car rides are one of the greatest inventions of all time. If you're headed somewhere, Darrell would like to come too. He also loves having a routine. His crate is his cozy little bedroom, and he happily trots right inside when it's time to relax. Predictability helps him feel safe, and he's the kind of dog who thrives when he knows what to expect. Darrell currently lives with dogs and cats and does very well with both. He's generally pretty aloof with other dogs, preferring to mind his own business rather than get involved in puppy politics. He gets along well with dogs who respect personal space and don't constantly pester him. He also lives with cats and has learned that after one firm feline correction, it's best to mind your own business. Smart guy. Now for the important part: Darrell is not a dog who enjoys strangers getting in his face or handling him before trust has been built. He can absolutely be mouthy when he's uncomfortable and may snap or bite if his boundaries are ignored. He's not being mean—he's just very clear about his feelings and expects people to listen. Because of this, Darrell needs an adopter who understands dog body language and respects that relationships take time. Darrell thrives on routine and predictability. He loves his crate, enjoys knowing what's coming next, and settles beautifully into home life. His foster reports that he has experienced occasional seizures throughout his life, but they have been rare and have never stopped him from being a happy, adventurous little dog. Car rides, lap time, snacks, and spending time with his favorite people are still at the top of his priority list. Because of his medical history and his preference for limited stranger handling, Darrell will be adopted as-is. Future adopters should be comfortable monitoring his health alongside their veterinarian, but overall he continues to enjoy a fantastic quality of life and spends his days doing what he does best: being an adorable little sidekick. The good news? Once he trusts you, he's incredibly loving, loyal, and affectionate. The bond he forms with his people is something special. He's not looking for a hundred friends. He's looking for his family. His ideal home would be a quieter household with older children or adults who appreciate a dog with a little sass and a lot of personality. No apartments for this guy—he can be a bit chatty when he has opinions, and Darrell definitely has opinions. Darrell is the canine version of that grumpy old man who secretly has a heart of gold. He's funny, loyal, adorable, and full of character. He won't love everyone, but if he chooses you, you'll have one of the most devoted little sidekicks around. And honestly? That's kind of what makes him so special. 🖤🐾✨ Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life?
