Story
Hello there! My name is Peter, and here’s a little info about me: Breed: Dalmatian PointerAge: 10 months old Gender: Male Weight: 38 LbsHeight: 27 inches Country of origin: Middle East Highlight(s): Playful, social, gentle-hearted, resilient, and full of joy! A little about me: Just look at me — a young spotted boy with the softest eyes and a heart ready to love. I may not have had the easiest start, but I’ve learned that life can be beautiful again when someone believes in you. When I was just a tiny puppy, I was found in an abandoned building — scared, hungry, and with a rope tied tightly around my neck. It hurt, both my body and my spirit. But kind rescuers found me and showed me what gentle hands feel like. They healed me, loved me, and gave me back my trust in people. Now I’m healthy, strong, and full of life. You can still see a quiet wisdom in my eyes — the kind that only comes from having survived something hard and choosing to love anyway. People say I’m the perfect mix of playful and calm. I love running, playing fetch, and making new furry friends. But when the games are over, I’m happy to sit quietly beside you, tail wagging softly, just being close. I’m affectionate, gentle, curious, and kind — the kind of dog who notices when you’re sad and rests his head on your lap. I’d love to join a home that enjoys laughter, walks, and simple moments of connection. Whether you’re a family, a couple, or someone who’s just looking for a loyal companion, I’ll fill your days with warmth and wagging tails. Energy Level: moderate to high I get along with:Dogs: YesCats: yes (rescuer says yes, but no video proof)Kids: Yes Fears: I’m a brave boy, though I always appreciate gentle voices and kind hearts. Training: Leash skills: Yes — please continue to help me grow in confidence.House trained: Yes — please continue to help me grow in confidence. Health notes:I am healthy, neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. While our rescuers always seek a flight without a charge, there is the possibility of a passenger fee, not to exceed $300. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if the dog is shown to be good with children we will approve homes with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.  While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. You will NOT be asked to pay a passenger fee on top of the cargo fee. [MID EAST DOGS] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. ##2544079##

Story
Hi, my name is CARSON (aka Charlie) and here is a little info about me: Age: 5 yearsGender: maleWeight: 60lbs / 27kgHeight: 64cm / 25inHighlights: playful with other dogs, cuddly, good with all people, handsome  Based on my breed traits, my gentle nature around humans, and my affectionate behavior, my rescuers believe I may have once been a working dog—possibly used for hunting. I was found wandering the streets with injured legs, likely discarded when I could no longer do the job I was meant for. When an animal lover gave me attention, I didn’t want to let her go and tried to get into her car. When she let me, I was so happy that I put my head on her lap the whole ride home to thank her. I’m a happy, playful boy who loves meeting new people and heading out on adventures. I bond quickly and deeply, and I’m great with humans of all ages—including kids. I get along well with other dogs and love to play, but I like to be the alpha when it comes to food—so I’d prefer not to share my meals with my four-legged pals. And cats? Not really my thing. My ideal home you ask?  I would be happy with an active family who takes me out on lots of adventures, or in a quieter home with children. I am not very fussy!  As long as I have people to give me cuddles, I will be happy! Energy level: moderate I get along with:dogs: yescats: nokids: yes, await video Prey drive: medium. My adopter needs to be willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. Fears: unknown/none observed. Please be patient with me through my transition. Training: Some leash training.  Leash skills still need some work. Generally happily walks alongside human handlers, can become stressed and may refuse to walk when he feels pressure from collar/harness. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: No. Please be prepared to help! Health notes: I have a limp in my right hind leg. My rescuers don’t know what caused it, but according to the vet, there is an old break that healed incorrectly on it's own. No intervention or treatment is necessary or recommended now. I will be able to have a normal life despite my limp. Sometimes I prefer not to use my leg, but when I run and play I do use it. My rescuer can provide X-Rays.I have been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Story
Howdy. My name is Nova and here's a little about me:Breed: Pointer/Beagle mixAge: 2 1/2 years oldGender: FemaleWeight: 26 kgsHeight: 55 cmCountry of origin: TurkeyHighlights: loving, gentle, trusting, affectionate, playful, very smart My name means “new” and “ I truly live up to it. After all I have endured, I am still  loving and smiling with joy for life. And I have an elegant looking body too.The municipality shelter has become overwhelmed. With the implementation of a mass collection law, dogs have been rounded up from the streets and placed into an enormous, open area. While the space is large, it's heartbreakingly overcrowded—more than 300 dogs, and more arriving every day. Despite its scale, the municipality fails to provide even the most basic care for us, including food. Yes, it's hard to believe—but sadly, it’s the truth. That’s why my rescuers began visiting regularly to feed us dogs and check on our condition. One day, while bringing food, they saw a new group of dogs being dumped into the chaos. Among them was me. Being a small, timid soul with kind eyes, I was clearly out of place. If they hadn’t been there at that exact moment to intervene and introduce me gently to the alpha dogs, I might not have survived even the first hour. Dog fights over territory and food are common in such neglected conditions. With every visit, my rescuers noticed I was covered in new bite wounds. Each time, more than before. They were desperate to get me out. Like many rescues though, they are faced with the impossible task of finding a safe space for dogs. Then, on one visit, they found me in terrible shape—my leg shattered, dangling, and trembling. Likely I injured it while trying to escape an attack. They rushed me to the vet, but my leg couldn’t be saved. The only option was amputation. But here’s the miracle: I never stopped loving. Through all the pain, the chaos, the hunger, and the fear—I never once growled or turned away from people or other dogs. I remained gentle, trusting, and affectionate. I adore people and get along great with other dogs. I haven't been around kitties. Now, I am recovering beautifully. I move with graceful dignity, my spirit unbroken. What I need is a second chance—a loving home, a warm bed, and someone who sees me not for what I've lost, but for the incredible soul I am.I radiate happiness and hope. I am a triple sweetheart. I'm one of the most affectionate dogs you’ll ever meet. Despite my amputation, I am full of life. I love to play like a kid in kindergarten—chasing my dog friends, rolling on the ground, and soaking up every second of joy. Also, I am incredibly smart and food-motivated for learning. I learned to sit in 3 minutes.Though I am three-legged, I have a fairly good energy level. Though a few short walks and playtime are usually enough to keep me content.I am extremely adaptable and would do well in most home environments.I'm a soul that’s full of gratitude and ready to make new memories. I'm waiting for a human who will see beyond my missing leg and recognize my heart, my strength, and my playful spirit. Are you the one who’ll give me the life I've always deserved? Hi there! My name is June, and I’m a sweet little girl looking for a loving forever home! Breed: Pointer MixedAge: 3 years oldGender: FemaleWeight: 23 kg/51lbCountry of origin: LebanonHighlight(s): Gentle, loyal, playful, and full of love I’m June — a soft, loving girl with eyes that tell a whole story. All I really want is to be loved and to belong. Left all alone on a remote road where no one ever passed by, life was tough for days — surviving on whatever could be found, even grass. One day, a hiker spotted me from afar. So thin and weak, yet the moment our eyes met, I ran straight to him, tail wagging, as if I’d known him forever. He couldn’t leave me there — he took me in, cared for me, and gave me a second chance at life. That moment will always be unforgettable, the moment when hope finally found me. I’m a gentle soul — playful, affectionate, and friendly with everyone I meet. I get along well with other dogs and absolutely adore people. I love playing, and warm hugs. I’m the kind of dog who’ll rest her head on your lap and make you feel peaceful just by being near. I’d love a loving home where I can finally feel safe and part of a family. Someone who enjoys walks, playtime, cuddles, and quiet evenings would be my perfect match.
