Story
From Millers Foster: It's been just over a week since Miller arrived, and he has made incredible progress. The first five days were a bit of a roller coaster as we worked through some separation anxiety and mild resource guarding. With consistency, structure, and a little more freedom each day, Miller has really started to settle in and show us who he is.He's learning to live comfortably with other dogs and is fitting in nicely with the pack. Every now and then, if another dog gets too close when he's not interested in sharing space, he'll give a quick grumble and move away with his toy. Nothing concerning and no escalation. He's very easy to redirect and continues to improve daily. A few lessons from Emma, our resident boss lady, were all it took for him to understand the household rules!Miller is becoming an absolute joy on leash. Yesterday he explored Bear Cove on a 20-foot long line, walked through the water, crossed a small stream, and handled everything beautifully. He doesn't try to run off, comes when called, and wants to meet every person and dog he sees. He's fantastic in the car and enjoys riding along on adventures. While he still gets excited about the world around him, he's learning how to settle. His barking when left alone now lasts only a few minutes, and the whining typically fades after 10–15 minutes before he relaxes. He's successfully been left alone for over an hour with my dogs and has done very well. One thing we've learned is that Miller thrives with activity, but not chaos. He would do best with an active family that enjoys walks, hikes, outings, and including him in daily adventures. A busy household with lots of young children and constant commotion likely wouldn't be the right fit for him. He wants to be part of the action, but he also needs help learning how to relax when things get exciting.Overall, Miller has come a very long way in a very short time. He's a sweet, social, affectionate boy who continues to impress us every day. We're excited to see what the next week brings!    This sweet boy came to us, by a family who fell hard on times, this handsome guy is great with other dogs, loves  everyone he meets. Miller is 2.5  years old.DOB 11/4/23. If you ever wanted the sweetest boy then Miller is your guy. Please apply for at fromalonetohomerescue.org ##2740015##

Story
This is Trooper! He’s a 10 year old Dalmatian/Hound mix. He is good with other dogs- we have another 16lb dog. Trooper also goes to dog daycare a couple times a week. He is food/toy aggressive. He lives in a home with a 1 year old child but we do not leave him and the child together unmonitored, so I’m not exactly sure how he would be with older kids. He has a ton of energy and loves to be outside going on walks or laying in the sun. He loves a lot of attention and as much outdoor time as possible. Right now, we are working 10-12 hour days so he’s alone a lot of the time and needs more. A couple that love to hike and travel, or a single active person would be a great fit for Trooper. He’s very loyal and will not run away off leash.

Story
Rum and Tequila are 2 gorgeous mixes that weigh approximately 35 lbs each and are approximately 1 year old. While we do not know their exact breed, they are full grown at 35 lbs – We believe they could be a mix of pointer, heeler, beagle and maybe dalmatian. These 2 girls are NOT bonded, but they were found together and well… you can just look at their spots and see how similar they look! Rum and Tequila were found with their mom and another sibling. The mom and brother have since been adopted, but the finder originally wanted to keep these 2 girls but can no longer. They were found behind a liquor store when they were only 8 weeks old. The clerk had made a small shelter behind the store out of liquor boxes, hence how they got their names. This is their first time being listed for adoption, so they finally have a chance to find their forever home. Both girls are very similar in personality (and looks!) They both LOVE children and would be fantastic in a home with all age children. Tequila has been sleeping in by the side of the bed of the foster’s children and just loves it. Rum and Tequila love other dogs and would thrive in a home with or without them. They are not overconfident, but they are not scared either. Rum and Tequila are the perfect middle ground of just going with the flow. They have met all size dogs and no issues. Both dogs have been introduced to cats and just ignore them. They show no prey drive therefore we believe they can live happily with cats with proper introductions. Rum and Tequila are crate trained and house trained. They know how to walk on a leash, and they both do well on it! They ride in the car with no issues and would be great as adventure buddies! The only difference the foster does point out is Tequila is calmer but still loves her play time. Rum is more active and playful and would be better suited in a more active home while Tequila would be fine for a calmer home/medium active home. These dogs might as well be perfect. They are sweet, friendly, loving, playful, gentle, kind and they love all animals and all people they meet. They are super smart and would make the perfect addition to the perfect home. Rum and Tequila are spayed, heart worm negative, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, microchipped, current on dewormer and will receive a clean bill of health from a licensed veterinarian prior to transport.
