Story
Louie is an amazing, sweet, and happy dog. He is needing to be rehomed due to allergies, as he sheds as much as a typical dalmatian which has caused health issues for the allergic individual. He is 6 years old and loves to cuddle and play. He has lived in a home with another dog, cat, and baby and has done well with everyone. He has met other dogs as well and has been great with them. He is an LUA dalmatian (bred to have a normal uric acid metabolism) which helps to protect him against common health risks in dalmatians. He has a possible food sensitivity (suspected either chicken or beef) which makes him gassy; however, there has been no issue since switching to Rachael Ray Nutrish Limited Ingredient (Lamb and Brown Rice). Louie is extremely friendly and has never been aggressive. He loves people and people have always adored him! He has seen a veterinarian throughout his life and has never had any major issues. We can provide vet records if desired.

Story
💗 Name: Tapas 📅 Intake Date: 9/15/26 🎂 Birthday (DOB): 9/15/25 ✂️ Altered: Yes 🩺 Heartworm Status: Negative ⚖️ Weight: 57 lbs 🐾 Good with other dogs? Yes 🐈 Good with cats? Unknown 👦 Good with kids? Unknown 🐕 Leash Trained? Yes 🏠 House Trained? Yes Tapas is a full serving of many great little things: a super sweet, laid-back boy with a knack for making himself part of the action. His Dalmatian/Catahoula mix gives him a face full of freckles and his sweet expression. His favorite activities include playing fetch, going for walks, and keeping tabs on his person. Tapas was surrendered by his owner and has already mastered some important household skills. He’s house and crate trained, has great recall, and will happily follow you off leash without wandering far. He gets along with other dogs. He’s the kind of dog who’s happy to tag along without making a fuss. No matter where you're going, Tapas is ready to be right there with you. ------------- Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue, The Artemis Project, in Arkansas. We DO, however, transport monthly to the metro Detroit area of MI. Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue. Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee. MICHIGAN RESIDENTS—>PLEASE CLICK THE LINK BELOW TO FILL OUT THE ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://new.shelterluv.com/form/other/TAP/2450-michigan-adoption Before we can change your new furbaby’s status from "adoptable" to "adoption pending," the $50 transport fee must be paid to secure the adoption. At that time, we will stop accepting applications. The entire adoption fee must be paid prior to the transport in order to ensure your new baby has a spot on the transport. Thank you SO MUCH for giving a homeless Arkansas pup a chance at a real life with a family of their very own!

Story
Maggie!? How come a gorgeous girl like you haven't gotten adopted yet? Well - the fact that Maggie is a gorgeous (non-pitbull) dog is part of the problem! Adopters applying for Maggie wants a pretty, fun and easy big dog. But Maggie is infact a full-sized Chihuahua. There is nothing wrong with this sweetheart - she LOVES other dogs, is completely potty trained, healthy, active and fun. Maggie just doesn't want to be touched until you've known each other for QUITE a while. And even then, a snarl might come out of nowhere. She is happy and content at the shelter, but will easily adapt to your household of active dogs and hands-off owners. Been around a grumpy cat before? Chihuahuas? Pekingese? Why do we as a society understand that small dogs can be delicate to handle, yet we require big dogs to allow all handling all the time? Maggie is special, but not overwhelming. She is extremely rewarding to interact with, although touch is not her love language! Included in the adoption fee of $275 is up to date vet care, microchip, vaccines, dewormer. She is spayed and ready for meet and greets! Apply to foster-to-adopt Maggie, we will be there for you the whole way: rebeldogsdetroit.com/applytoadopt

Story
Hey my name is Bailey, and I am a handsome boy looking for my forever family. I have been an anxious guy in the past, so I need a bit of time to adjust to new people and things sometimes. But lucky for me, I am in an incredible foster home! I am described by my foster family as a happy, playful, fantastic guy, and my nervousness has significantly diminished now that I am comfortable. I have a doggie best friend around my age, and we have an awesome time playing and spending time together. I am also a very polite roommate with my foster family`s cats, who I mostly leave to their own devices. Due to my history and personality, I would do best in a home with children over 12, and I have been friendly and calm with teenagers. I hope I might be the best doggie for you. Please reach out to my friends at the adoptions desk to see about next steps for meeting with me!Bailey is currently living in one of our wonderful foster homes. Adopting from foster is easy! Please email adoptions@hshv.org or call (734)662-5585 to arrange a meeting today!Tags: #gh

No apartments.Fence Requirements: NoneSpecial Info: Bailey is a very special dog to us at I Heart Dogs. She is a very good girl but panics in new places and situations. She needs a home who understands she is happiest staying home -- she is not a "partner in crime" type of dog, she is a "I'll be waiting for you when you get home" type. She does not want to go for car rides or walks, she does not want to go pick out new toys at the pet store, and she does not want to go visit Gramma's house. She will take some time to settle in to her new home, but once she does, you will be her everything.DOG APPLICATION: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=26CAT APPLICATION: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=41EXOTICS APPLICATION: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=46The information we are providing for this animal was developed based on observations and assessments in a shelter or foster environment. We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application completely.
