Story
We had an accidental litter (parents have since been fixed) Piglet was one that we never found a home for. She is 11 months old (birthday is june 18th) She is very affectionate and vocal, she does an adorable howl/yawn when shes excited to see you. She is crate trained and house broke but needs a strict potty routine. She is great with kids and our other dogs. We just have too many to keep her forever. Also we have a fenced backyard so she is not leash trained.

Story
Name: Creed Age: 1.5 Years Breed: Dalmatian  Male or female: Male  Size: 60 pounds  Any impairments: No Good with dogs: Yes  Good with cats: Yes  Good with children: No Crate trained: No Potty trained: Yes  Needs fenced in yard: Preferred  Needs another dog in the home: Preferred  Location: Battle Creek, MI  Creed is a 1.5 year old Dalmatian. He is up to date on vaccines, heartworm tested negative, and neutered. He is being fostered in Battle Creek, MI.  Creed is an incredibly sweet, loving dog who is looking for the perfect forever home. He has a very gentle personality and forms strong bonds with his people. Whether he’s curled up in bed with you at night or relaxing nearby on the floor, he simply loves being close to his family. He is fully potty trained and does very well in the house. He is trustworthy when left out and does not get into things he shouldn’t. While he still has the playful side you’d expect from a young Dalmatian, he is actually pretty mellow for the breed. He enjoys running around and playing with other dogs, but he’s also happy to settle down and relax afterward. He gets along well with other dogs and has also done well around cats. He loves to play fetch, chase other dogs, go for walks and hikes, and ride on boats. Because he doesn’t care for children running at him unexpectedly, he will require a home without children. He came from a home with children and was reported to have been very sweet with them but his foster feels best with placing him with adults only.  One area he will need continued work on is crate training. He does not do well in a crate right now and will need a patient adopter willing to continue working with him in a positive, understanding way. Alternatively, he could very likely be easily trained to stay out of his crate loose in the home. Aside from that, he is a truly wonderful companion with so much love to give. He would do best with someone familiar with the Dalmatian breed or an active home that can provide regular exercise and companionship. In return, you’ll get an affectionate, loyal best friend who loves deeply and just wants to be part of the family. If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal companion with a fun personality and a cuddly side, he may be the perfect fit for you!  ***PLEASE READ*** WE DO NOT RESPOND TO PETFINDER OR EMAIL INQUIRIES. Story
Tia and Blessing are still seeking a forever home that will adopt them as a pair. They are 3.5 years old and very bonded. They were adopted as sisters and surrendered when their owner had to move. Both girls are house trained, love the yard, crate trained and do great with other dogs. Tia has a spine deformity from birth, but that doesnt slow her down at all! She was evaluated by OSU and they only recommend a home with few stairs. Blessing is outgoing, while Tia is a little more reserved. They will steal your heart the minute you meet them. Because they need to be adopted as a pair, we have a sponsor to cover the adoption fee for one of the girls. Please consider opening up your home this Holiday season for Tia and Blessing. You can apply at ricopetrecovery.org

Story
***PLEASE READ HIS BIO CAREFULLY TO BE SURE YOU CAN MEET HIS NEEDSRiver came to us 3 weeks ago as an extremely underweight young Dalmatian after spending his life chained outside without enough food or socialization. Since then, this sweet boy has gained 10 lbs on a careful refeeding schedule and is finally feeling well enough to start looking for his forever family. 🖤🤍River is not officially adoptable yet, but we ARE looking for a foster-to-adopt home for him while he finishes his medical care and gains a few more pounds. He still needs to complete Lyme treatment and be neutered before adoption is finalized.🐾 About River:• Young male Dalmatian• Medium size, expected around 45 lbs once fully filled out• Sweet, people-loving boy despite his rough past• Crate trained in foster care• Learning house training• Does well on a cable or in a fenced yard• Knows “sit” and is learning patience• Loves dog beds• Has not really learned how to play with toys yet because survival and food were always his focusRiver is Lyme positive, which is being treated and is NOT contagious. He is heartworm negative, vaccinated, on monthly preventatives, and will be neutered and microchipped before adoption.Because Dalmatians are prone to urinary stones, River is currently on a prescription urinary care food. At this time we do not know if this will be lifelong or temporary. A 27 lb bag costs approximately $140, so we want adopters to carefully consider this financial commitment before applying. We will send his current open bag and a brand new bag home with him, but it will likely only last 4–6 weeks.🍽️ Food behaviors:River came to us starving, and while his body is healing, his mind still believes food may disappear at any moment. He currently:• Needs slow feeder bowls or feeder balls• Searches counters and trash cans for food• Should be fed separately from other pets initially• May need lifelong feeding managementBecause of this, we do not feel a home with toddlers or very young children is the best fit, as food in little hands could be too tempting for him. He has seen young children through a gate in foster care and otherwise seemed perfectly fine with them.We do not yet know how River feels about cats.River lived in a foster home for 2 weeks where he learned:🏡 Crates are safe🏡 Bedrooms can be relaxing🏡 People can be kind🏡 Dog beds are amazingHe occasionally had accidents when left loose, but overall did very well. He also rode in the car crated, which he wasn’t thrilled about, but handled appropriately. After a lifetime of neglect, River still loves people and wants connection. He simply needs a patient family willing to teach him how to be a dog and continue showing him that he never has to worry about food or safety again. With reward-based training, patience, and consistency, we believe River has the potential to become an incredible companion. ❤️We are requiring applications for River. Please apply here:https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=sr2794&method=online_form_html&formid=21💲 Adoption fee: $250IMPORTANT:River’s neuter appointment is Friday, June 5. Anyone doing foster-to-adopt MUST agree to bring him back for his neuter appointment in order to finalize adoption. We're open Monday through Friday 12-5 pm and Saturday 11-3 pm. We're located at 9331 State Route 124 Hillsboro, OH. Our adoption is open and easy, please come to the shelter to meet the animals in person to adopt.
