Story
Meet Sookie! This sweet, 7 year old, female Dalmatian came to us after spending her whole life in a puppy mill. Over the last few months Sookie has made great progress in becoming a dog!   She has completed our prison training program and is ready to find her first loving family!   Sookie will require an adopter with patience as she adjusts life outside of a cage. She is more comfortable with women, but will warm up to men as well. Once she warms up she is a very sweet girl and your new shadow!    Sookie's ideal forever home would have: A fenced in yard so she can safely explore the outdoors A quiet, adult only home. Young kids are too quick, noisy and unpredictable.  No cats!! She thinks they are very fun to chase ;) Another dog to help her adjust!   Sookie is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and HW tested/negative. She is also crate trained, potty trained, does well on a leash, and knows her basic commands! If you have space in your heart and home to give Sookie the happily ever after she has been waiting for; please visit our website and complete an adoption application! https://www.prodogsohio.org/  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We appreciate your support, in order to help us continue to rescue dogs! Donations can be made via our PayPal account - info@prodogsohio.org. You must be willing to commute to the location that the pet is being fostered in order to be eligible to adopt. We do not ship our pets. We also require that you personally bring the pet back to us should the adoption not work out.   We do NOT negotiate adoption fees. All money goes to support our rescue operation. We are 100% volunteered based. We require your current dog(s) to be current on vaccines and heartworm prevention.  Apply online at www.prodogsohio.org, under the Adoptables tab. Story
Lex and her two siblings came to Rico as an owner surrender from an accidental litter. Her brother Max has been adopted :)Mom is a Dalmatian/Lab mix and dad is a Spaniel mix. Lex is about 40 pounds. She plays nicely with other dogs, does okay on a leash, and loves to play fetch with her toys!Lex is eight months old and eager to please! We recommend leash walks and close supervision when in a fenced area (we are pretty sure Lex is a pro at parkour and can escape almost any fence, crate, or kennel). When Lex has gotten out of her kennel, she has run straight for her foster. This sweet girl just wants to be close to you! She is very quiet and not a barker.Apply to adopt Miss Lex at ricopetrecovery.org

Story
Tia and Blessing are still seeking a forever home that will adopt them as a pair. They are 3.5 years old and very bonded. They were adopted as sisters and surrendered when their owner had to move. Both girls are house trained, love the yard, crate trained and do great with other dogs. Tia has a spine deformity from birth, but that doesnt slow her down at all! She was evaluated by OSU and they only recommend a home with few stairs. Blessing is outgoing, while Tia is a little more reserved. They will steal your heart the minute you meet them. Because they need to be adopted as a pair, we have a sponsor to cover the adoption fee for one of the girls. Please consider opening up your home this Holiday season for Tia and Blessing. You can apply at ricopetrecovery.org

Cat Friendly: Yes Kid Friendly: Yes Apartment Friendly: Yes Physical Fence Requirement: None Crate Trained: Yes Potty Trained: Not fully potty trained, working on it Ideal Home/Adopter:  Ditto is deaf and will need a family that is willing to adjust their training to her needs. She is already picking up on hand signing. She is being raised in a foster home with dogs, cats, and young kids so she is getting all of her social skills! Likes: Toys, bones, food & playing with other dogs! Dislikes: Being thirsty. When the water bowl is empty. Sometimes she will use her nose to flip it to let you know it needs refilled. She only does it when empty because she also doesn't like a mess.  Ditto has big fabulous ears that serve zero purpose - all cosmetic because she is deaf! She is smart and picking up on hand signal commands, including come and sit. She loves to chew on bones and is the worlds best napper because nothing wakes her up. Ditto is a fun, sweet girl! She is the biggest of her siblings, and LOVES to play with stuff toys and chomp on bones. She's down for a good cuddle, but is even happier to play with you, her toys, or another dog! Somewhat hesitant at first, she is really coming around and learning to be with her people. Also... She also LOVES carrots, she will play with them first but always ends up eating them. Girlie likes her veggies!  Ditto's adoption fee is $400. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. If you are interested in Ditto, apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter and a meet & greet can be set up once approved. ##2589160##
