Story
Introducing May, a resilient and courageous dog who has overcome great adversity in her life. For several months, May found herself wandering the streets, facing the challenges of survival on her own. During this time, she endured a prolapsed vagina, a painful condition that required urgent medical attention. Though people in the neighborhood attempted to help her, her fear and mistrust kept her at a distance. Fortunately, fate intervened when one of our compassionate fosters caught sight of May and recognized the urgency of her situation. With a clever plan involving fries as bait, May was coaxed close enough to be safely captured. Immediately, she was taken to the veterinary clinic, where she underwent surgery to repair her injury. May is now ready for a new chapter in her life, filled with endless love, security, and happiness. If you're searching for a quiet and affectionate canine companion who will steal your heart with a single smile, look no further than May. Come and meet her, and witness the incredible transformation she has undergone. May is waiting with open paws to bring joy and warmth into your life. If May May sounds like she might be the right match for you, or if you want to check out more of our wonderful pets for adoption, please visit ffpets.org to read all about our TN-based rescue and how the adoption and transport process works and to submit your application The adoption fee is $300 and transport is an additional $200 This pet is currently in a foster home in TN and will be transported north after the adoption is complete. Story
Meet the lovely little Lilly! For being only 2 yrs old, this sweet pup has already led quite an adventurous life! She was found running wild & free in a field down in NC & a good citizen Vet Tech picked her up & brought her to a local rescue. She stayed there briefly before taking a plane ride up to PA & joining us at the Canine Rescue of Central PA (located in Dillsburg). Lilly is now ready to seek out more adventures with a new home & best friend. Lilly is very loving & wants to please but is still learning how to. Living a life on the lam for so long, left Lilly with a playful & energetic spirit, but lacking manners. She has now learned "SIT"!! Lilly is extremely smart & we think this is a new chapter for her learning journey! Lilly does exhibit prey drive and would do best in a home without cats. Given her need for more training, she should be in a home with dog savvy adults and only with older children. We are so excited for Lilly's next adventure! She has so much potential & love just waiting to be unlocked. We often throw on sunglasses around this cutie because her future is just that BRIGHT!! ? Lilly is microchipped, spayed & up-to-date on vaccines. If you are interested in adding Lilly to your family, please complete an application on our website: www.crcpa.org/adoption

Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. 5/17/24 Willis and his siblings had a very rough start in life. They were born under a trailer. Their mama loved them so much. But she didn't have a home and sadly, she was killed by someone in the area when the babies were only a few weeks old. I had the pleasure of meeting her before she died, and I was impressed by how friendly and loving she was. I wanted to rescue her and her babies but didn't have a foster home for them, so I was taking food to her, hoping they would all be safe until I could find them a safe place. A week after I met her, her body was found in the yard next door to where she had her babies. The woman who lives in the trailer thought she had moved the babies because she couldn't hear them. They were too far back to be able to see, and there was trash everywhere under and around the trailer, so it was hard to tell if there were puppies, but we assumed they had been moved. A week after the mama was found, the home owner thought she heard some faint cries so she put a bowl of milk at the opening that goes under the trailer, and the puppies came crawling out. They were in very, very bad shape. They had been without food for over a week by this time so they were dehydrated, malnourished, and had wounds all over them, which flies had laid eggs in. It was horrific. Sadly, we lost the 2 smallest puppies a few days later. Bruce, Demi, and Willis are the 3 survivors. They are now healthy, fat, strong babies! Their mom was a short haired pointer (maybe mixed). We don't know what dad was. These babies are now about 9 weeks old. They have had 2 sets of shots and they have been spayed/neutered, microchipped, and started on heartworm, flea, and tick prevention. We believe they will be 50 ish lbs when grown. Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations.
