Story
Bonita has indicated that she apparently would love to move into a home with a unicorn housemate. That's because she is always picking out her unicorn toy to take into her crate. It may help her feel very safe there. She has learned to go into her crate and generally sleeps through the night. She's pretty quiet and does feel safe there. When she's eating, she is a bit concerned that someone might be coming for her dinner but is learning that her housemates are away and enjoying theirs. Bonita spends most of her time with her foster's dog, Muffin, wrestling with him. She also likes napping with him by laying on top of his crate while he's in it. She also wants to play with her foster's other dog and can be exuberant but is fairly gentle with him. She can be alarmed when she sees new people from a distance, but once they come close to her, she accepts them and seeks out a lot of their affection. She gives them light kisses, loves getting their petting and hugs, and thinks they're her potential best friend. Bonita understands 'crate' and is working to learn 'sit.' She's also working on her house training and is learning to love doing her potties outdoors. Bonita will love a home with patient pet parents who are active and appreciate her exuberance. She's a very active girl who is likely to do best with bigger, older children. She will love a dog buddy who can match her playful energy. Come meet this lovable girl!

Story
Kuro, a 7-month-old Dalmatian, is a lively and affectionate pup. She's vaccinated, chipped, and can be registered by new owners. She's highly intelligent and quick to learn commands. Kuro thrives in an active household, ideally with a similarly sized dog for play. Having grown up with cats and recently living with a chihuahua, Kuro's playful nature might be too much for smaller pets at her current age. Her high energy level suggests the need for extra puppy training, especially during moments of over-excitement. She's partially potty trained with puppy pads and indicates when she needs to go out with attentive care. She's also accustomed to a kennel for bedtime. Despite her enthusiasm, Kuro isn't aggressive but tends to jump up when excited and might miss a toy in hand while playing. Spaying is not required but is encouraged.

We adopted Sony as a 100% AKC purebred Dalmatian puppy and have had him his whole life. He’s an absolute dream companion. We have 2 young children (1 and 2 years old) and it’s becoming apparent he’s not getting the life he deserves. He’s so gentle and loving with the babies. He’s 100% healthy and so great with other dogs. He lived with a cat for 2 years with minimal issues. We are shopping for a potential owner that can offer him a more active/better life. Check him out on Instagram for more images of his awesomeness @sony.pup

Story
Chicken Nugget`s foster mom says: `Chicken Nugget has been with me for almost 3 weeks now! He is a happy go-lucky pup who enjoys head/butt scritches and belly rubs. He has been recovering from a leg injury (making great progress) so he has been mainly resting and playing games. The short interactions with my two dogs have been positive, although there was mild resource guarding over a high-value treat. I can interact with food and treats with no reactions. He is crate trained and house trained as well. One of Chicken Nugget`s favorite things is taking a walk in which he can conduct a `snifari` and watch the world around him while the wind blows through his ears. Here are some observations on walks:* Mostly a loose leash walker* Busy streets, trucks, buses, etc. do not bother him* Sees a squirrel: `Yawns, so boring, let`s keep moving`* Sees a bird of prey: Acknowledged and moved on* Sees a cat: `How`s it going, Cat?` Stands still, watches them, and moves on* Sees a dog: `A friend!` He does react to varying degrees (tail wagging, yipping, crying, and some tugging). I have not found ANY high value treats that will redirect him however if you remain calm, shorten the leash, continue to move forward while encouraging him with positive reinforcement, he will move forward with you (though he may turn to look around just to make sure you really don`t want him to make friends). He seems to enjoy dogs but can get easily excited and may overwhelm other dogs, so I would recommend a meet & greet prior to adoption.Chicken Nugget is a handsome, sweet boy who deserves a great home with people who will spend lots of time taking him on walks and giving him lots of playtime!`

Story
I am Bartise, a 2 year old very good dog photo model. I have started my modeling career after a scout fell in love with my magnetic and stunning eyes. Since then I have been in photo shoots with many other dog models because I get along very well with them (I love other dogs!). I have charmed audiences, both young and adult, with my sweet demeanor and energetic attitude. I recently spent some time in a foster home, and here`s what they said: `Bart is a great dog. Very affectionate. He has no problem switching between being active and being chill. He is just as happy to go on walks as he is to lay on the couch next to you. Very importantly, he loves chew toys. He is constantly chewing on toy bones, ropes, etc. It`s how he likes to spend a majority of his chill time.`I am currently modeling for Austin Animal Center, but I am looking forward to expanding my skills in a new environment. If you would like to hire me, I would be so happy to meet you.

Story
Charlie! This young pup is such a fun, sweet, playful guy. Charlie has become a volunteer favorite among the Orange Dot Crew these last few months for his happy, puppy-like energy and his love for all people. One of his friends says “whenever I need a pick-me-up or a boost of endorphins, I’ll take Charlie out! The way he carries toys in his mouth when he walks around campus, and his cuddly, hilarious personality, all make me smile even when I’ve had a rough day.” He has the most electric little grin and his charming personality that will be sure to brighten anyone’s day.Charlie also is an eager and fast learner. He’s been going to Basic Manner class at Every Dog Austin with one of his best volunteer friends. In class, Charlie is non-reactive to the other pups and he has met a few new human friends. He’s been doing really well with clicker training and loves learning new tricks and behaviors for treats! In class, Charlie can sometimes be found happily squeaking a stuffy toy while the teacher is talking, dubbing him the “class clown”! He really is the most endearing, happy-go-lucky, and lovable boy there is!Charlie would love a home with humans who are excited to continue his training and are eager to teach him new things. Since Charlie is still a young pup, he has some puppy-like behaviors and can get a little over-excited at times and become a little mouthy or jumpy. He’s a young dog growing up in the shelter, so understandably, he’ll need some time to decompress from the stressful shelter life and adjust to a new home. Charlie is dog social and has playdates occasionally at the shelter with well-matched dogs. He has potential to go home with another pup so long as a meet and greet goes well. Please come on down to the shelter to visit Charlie!! His many friends in Orange Dot Crew would love to introduce you!
