Xylo: Snack Connoisseur, Nap Enthusiast, Full-Time Heart-Stealer Meet Xylo, the 8-year-old senior with a PhD in Snuggology and a minor in Treatonomics. He has been patiently waiting for a home with a heart that is overflowing with the kind of love that will make every day feel brighter. He's a loyal, thoughtful, gentleman who wants nothing more than to share his days with someone who will love him in return. Xylo takes his time to trust, but once he does, he becomes a devoted companion who will sit beside you, curl up in your lap, and let you know—wordlessly—just how much he loves being with you. He’s a whiz at basic obedience and loves learning new tricks in exchange for treats! He enjoys the simple things: soft sunbeams, leisurely walks on the scenic route to sniff, rolling around in the dirt, and a cozy bed in a safe corner of your home. Xylo also loves stuffed toys, gentle play, and giving kisses. He gets along well with dogs and cats and thrives on friendship, comfort, and snuggles. If your life needs a snack-motivated, goofy, loveable companion with a flair for dramatic napping, Xylo is your guy. Adopt him, and prepare for laughter, cuddles, unconditional love, and the occasional burst of playful chaos!

Story
Meet Apricot! This young pup is gentle, playful, and ready to blossom in a loving, patient home. Despite a tough start in life, Apricot is resilient and already showing how brave she is. Initially shy with new people, she’s quickly warming up and loves being close to her foster—following them everywhere! Apricot enjoys playful games like chasing balls and tug-of-war, and she has fun running in the yard with her littermate. She’s making great strides with house training and is learning to walk on a leash, responding well to gentle encouragement. Apricot finds comfort in her crate, where she sleeps peacefully at night and can retreat during the day when she needs a little security. Apricot would thrive in a calm, patient home (preferably without kitties) where she can build trust, and show off her playful, loving personality. She’s a resilient little pup ready to find her forever family!

Story
Howdy partners! Meet Texa! Texa, a female Catahoula Leopard Dog/Shepherd mix, is around 5 years old and weighs 43 lbs. She was taken in by APA in July 2025 after her previous shelter flooded. The first things to know about Texa are that she's super housetrained, non-destructive, does well alone, is quiet, and very loyal and affectionate toward her people. Texa makes no accidents (given a regular bathroom schedule) and never chews on things she shouldn’t. While in her foster home, Texa has made great progress on leash, and with continued practice she’ll keep getting better at staying right by your side. Texa bonds easily and genuinely with people. Approach her gently, offer a treat or two, and in minutes she’ll be leaning in for pets with big puppy eyes. Affection is her absolute favorite — she chooses love over treats every time. When it's time to relax, she likes to be close, but if you need space, she’ll settle into her bed or favorite floor spot without issue. Her beautiful double coat will need regular brushing, which she handles well with calm encouragement. She’s responded positively to grooming tools and is learning that blowdryers aren’t so scary after all. Texa would thrive in a home with a bit of space to stretch out and would love to be your one-and-only pet. She’s a truly lovely, people-focused dog who just wants someone to love. ✨ Special Update: Texa’s amazing foster believes in her so much that they are sponsoring her full adoption fee and sending her home with donated gear and supplies to help her settle in. Come meet this sweet girl — she’s more than ready to find her forever family!

Cello’s story is one of strength and second chances. Rescued from a cruelty case, this sweet boy is discovering that the world can be a kind and loving place—and he’s absolutely blossoming! Cello is a happy, affectionate, and smart young pup who just wants to be near his people. He’s learning that alone time isn’t so scary, and he’s already making great progress—he’s been sleeping through the night without touching his bedding (what a good boy!). This handsome Catahoula mix has a heart as big as his ears (and just wait until you see those ears!). He loves playtime, belly rubs, and learning new things. With continued patience and love, Cello will grow into the confident, loyal companion he’s meant to be. If you’re looking for a young dog with a resilient spirit, boundless affection, and the best ears in town, Cello might just be your perfect duet partner.

I've had Ninja for 6 years, the shelter thinks she was 4 when I got her, so that makes her around 10. She came to me with a traumatic past. She is much better, but still timid and shy. She loves to be pet and go for walks. She is very good around other animals and mostly keeps to herself, but does play once she gets used to another animal. The born date is an estimate based on information provided when she was received at the shelter. I've had Ninja for 6 years, the shelter thinks she was 4 when I got her, so that makes her around 10. Story
Meet Bronco! Bronco is an amazing pup, estimated to be between 1–2 years old, and he’s still very much in that playful puppy phase. Curious about everything, he loves exploring the world around him and discovering new sights, smells, and adventures. Bronco gets along wonderfully with other dogs and currently has three foster siblings he enjoys playing and lounging with throughout the day. He is also potty trained, and he is currently working on becoming fully kennel trained. This sweet boy is quite the talker—Bronco loves to express himself with silly grumbles, playful barks, and funny little sounds, especially when he’s excited or vying for attention. He has a big personality and an even bigger heart. While he can be a bit skittish at first and sometimes thinks he’s in trouble when you approach, he is quickly learning that people can be kind and gentle. Each day, he grows more confident, more trusting, and more affectionate. In the evenings, Bronco enjoys curling up on a cozy dog bed, and he’ll occasionally trot over to give you a soft “boop” as his sweet way of asking for pets. He also has great protective instincts—if he hears a strange noise outside, he’ll be the first to investigate and alert his people. Bronco is well on his way to becoming a loyal, loving, and devoted companion. With continued patience, reassurance, and love, he will blossom into the incredible dog he is meant to be. He’s ready to find a forever family to adore and protect. Bronco is being fostered in a home in Seguin, TX but can be transported to the PNW and NE United States after adoption. I got Lulu 2 years ago at 9 months old. She is a sweetheart that likes walks, sniffing everything, and sleeping. She's great with other dogs but I've only ever seen her scared of children and curious about cats. Not a big fan of golf carts we've found out. She also is very food motivated but needs work on her attention skills. She's kennel trained and will come with her kennel, it's her safe space. Moving overseas and cant afford to keep her.

Story
Meet Buddy – A Gentle Soul Looking for His Perfect Match! Buddy is a senior Ridgeback/Black Mouth Cur mix with a heart full of love and a personality that shines once he feels safe. He may be shy at first and take some time to decompress, but once he’s comfortable, his sweet and gentle nature comes through. Buddy absolutely loves other dogs and enjoys their company. He is both house-trained and crate-trained—in fact, his crate is his happy place! When left alone, he prefers the security of his kennel, and even when his humans are home, he often chooses to relax there with the door open. This lovable senior does well on a leash and would thrive in a quiet, low-energy home with a patient adopter who understands that he needs time to adjust. While he hasn't been around young children, his gentle nature suggests he would be great with them. We don’t know how he is with cats, but he gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Buddy’s favorite toys are anything soft and squishy, and he enjoys the simple comforts of companionship. He would be the perfect match for someone looking for a loving, loyal companion who doesn’t need a high-energy lifestyle. With patience and understanding, Buddy has so much love and potential to share. Are you the kind soul ready to give Buddy the forever home he deserves?
