Story
Pepper is a 55-lb kelpie mix with a big heart and a bigger love for playing ball. His story is heartbreaking: Pepper’s mom passed away, and her caregiver adopted him. Now his new mom's husband is battling congestive heart failure and is very allergic to Pepper. Pepper was scheduled to be euthanized. Our vet immediately called us to see if we could help. This sweet, loyal boy deserves so much more. He LOVES playing fetch—whether it’s running down a tennis ball outside or doing victory laps around the living room with his toy, he’ll keep you laughing. Pepper is house trained, great with kids, and good with other dogs (though he prefers his ball games one-on-one). He enjoys dry food, burger treats, and chew toys. He also loves affection—pets on his face, head, and chest, plus scratches at the base of his tail (he’ll back right up to ask for them!). Pepper is an entertainer, athlete, and loyal best friend who’s ready for the forever family he deserves.

Story
I love Carmella so much but I have never had a pet before and I truly think I bit off more than I can chew. She was given to me as a gift at 4 weeks and she has been my precious baby ever since. However I am a school teacher who is single and it seems as if I’m always at work and leave her home for all those hours really breaks my heart and she has so much energy by the time I get home I am pooped. I walk her but I feel like it’s not enough love for a growing baby. Please help her find a home shes a baby 5 months. Also if the fee is an issue please lmk we can make something happen Also I will give her crate and all the things to you that are needed she’s amazing this is very emotional for me so please help me.

Story
Luna is a 5 year old Dalmatian/Lab mix She weighs about 50 pounds and is house-trained, crate-trained, and walks well on leash. She has grown up with kids and is gentle with all ages and loves to give kisses. She loves squeaky toys and snuggles and playing in the backyard to keep an eye on the squirrels! She is highly trainable and super eager to please. Luna was born deaf but was taught hand commands from age 5 months. She responds well to visual cues and is eager to learn more. Deaf dogs are just like regular dogs, you simply communicate with them a little differently! If Luna sounds like the perfect addition to your family but you are worried about her being deaf don't be! We will include sessions with our trainer for any interested family to help make the transition super easy! Luna either needs to be an only dog (as being deaf other dogs can startle her) or potentially with a calm male dog. We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.

Pandora

Dalmatian Australian Cattle Dog

Female, 5 yrs 9 mos
Stephenville, TX
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Good with dogs, Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Pandora was adopted from us in December 2023 and returned due to extreme food aggression. She’s a very sweet girl who loves nearly everyone she meets and enjoys jumping up for attention. Pandora is great with kids but not suited for homes with cats or livestock. She does well with other dogs when no food is involved—however, she becomes reactive around food, even if it’s just her humans eating with another dog nearby. Because of this, she would likely do best as the only dog in her home, with playdates for social time. Pandora LOVES water—whether it’s pools or the hose—and going on walks. She is very high energy and needs daily exercise or she may become destructive. She’s known to jump out of shorter fences, so a secure 6-foot privacy or chain-link fence is recommended. She’s good on leash, crated well, and may be housebroken as she’s done well in her indoor kennel. Pandora is very vocal and tends to pace and bark persistently, so she may not be ideal for apartment living. A foster trial is highly recommended to ensure she’s a good fit. Pandora is spayed, vaccinated with DHPP and Bordetella, microchipped, heartworm negative, and on prevention. She is due for a rabies vaccination.
