Story
Luna is a 5 year old Dalmatian/Lab mix She weighs about 50 pounds and is house-trained, crate-trained, and walks well on leash. She has grown up with kids and is gentle with all ages and loves to give kisses. She loves squeaky toys and snuggles and playing in the backyard to keep an eye on the squirrels! She is highly trainable and super eager to please. Luna was born deaf but was taught hand commands from age 5 months. She responds well to visual cues and is eager to learn more. Deaf dogs are just like regular dogs, you simply communicate with them a little differently! If Luna sounds like the perfect addition to your family but you are worried about her being deaf don't be! We will include sessions with our trainer for any interested family to help make the transition super easy! Luna either needs to be an only dog (as being deaf other dogs can startle her) or potentially with a calm male dog. We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.

Story
This sweet and gentle boy has a heart full of love and is always eager to please. He’s a bit on the submissive side, happily looking to his people for guidance and affection. After a few minutes of praise, he brightens right up! Pongo absolutely adores treats and will politely wait for his next tasty snack. Nothing makes him happier than getting pets and soaking up all the love he can. With his kind nature and affectionate spirit, Pongo would make a wonderful companion for anyone looking for a loyal and loving best friend.Reason for Foster: Upper Respiratory Infection (URI), Ear Wound, Foster Time Frame: 2 Weeks(The foster time frame may be longer depending on future rechecks and medical needs.) Foster Care Plan: Pongo is being treated for an upper respiratory infection, which is similar to a common cold. Since he may be contagious, we strongly recommend keeping him separate from other dogs until he has fully recovered. He is also being treated for a wound on his ear that we ask his foster to monitor for changes. He will go to foster with medication, and once treatment is complete, he will be ready for adoption. Foster to Adopt: Pongo is available for our Foster to Adopt Program, which allows pets to be placed with prospective adopters before they become available for adoption. If you’re interested in fostering, please visit https://www.operationkindness.org/foster/ or email us at foster@operationkindness.org to learn more.

The one thing hindering this amazing boy from finding a family, is that he is absolutely terrified of thunder and fireworks. He needs a home with sympathetic and understanding humans that will love him and reassure him in these times of doubt.  He will repay you for your kindness with endless love and kisses.   Marshall is about 50lbsHe is neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated and current on prevention. Please reach out if you have any questions or are interested in giving this boy a family!  Please be sure to include your phone number with your inquiries and check your spam folder for a reply. ##1178228##

Story
Meet Demi, a charming 4-year-old Heeler mix who is eager to find her perfect forever home. Demi is a wonderful companion with a gentle spirit and a playful heart, and she is ready to share her love with the right family. Demi is dog-friendly with proper introductions and has a special knack for helping other dogs come out of their shells, showcasing her nurturing side. She is crate trained and enjoys the safety of her crate, especially during thunderstorms, where she finds comfort. Demi walks beautifully on a leash and loves to engage in games of chase, whether she's the one chasing or being chased. With a personality akin to an introvert, Demi thrives with structure and boundaries, which help her feel safe and build trust with her humans. She has a low to medium energy level, making her easy to be around, while her great pack drive allows her to form strong bonds with her family. Although she is friendly and listens well, she takes her time to warm up to strangers, which adds to her endearing nature. Demi is playful and has a sweet demeanor, always eager to partake in life's adventures. She loves the great outdoors, especially hiking and exploring new environments. Additionally, she is treadmill trained, providing an excellent outlet on extra hot or cold days. Demi would do best in a quieter home with older children who can respect her gentle nature and allow her the space to thrive. If you're looking for a loving, playful companion who brings joy and stability, Demi could be the perfect addition to your family!

Story
Hi there, I’m Maya!!An 8-year-old gentle soul with dreamy blue eyes, pointy ears, and a heart that’s ready to settle right into yours. I’m a true “people dog” — I live for my humans and thrive on cuddles, companionship, and quality time together.I like to think of myself as a one-and-only kind of gal. Other dogs are nice and all, but I really shine when I can soak up all the love, belly rubs, and attention for myself. Don’t worry — I’ve got more than enough affection to give in return. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend who will adore you endlessly, curl up beside you, and make every day a little warmer… I just might be your girlFOSTER REASON: Fospice- I’m currently recovering from what my veterinarians believe was a severe case of IVDD (disc disease). The good news? I’m doing really well and making steady progress! I still need some extra rest and a calm, cozy space while I continue healing, and my vets would like to keep a close eye on me since this can sometimes be a recurring condition.Because I’m part of the Fospice program, the SPCA of Texas will cover my medical care and supplies for as long as I need — all I’m missing now is a loving home where I can relax, be pampered, and soak up the affection I so deeply deserve.Email foster@spca.org to learn more or to schedule an appointment to pick me up!
