Luna is a 5 year old Dalmatian/Lab mix She weighs about 50 pounds and is house-trained, crate-trained, and walks well on leash. She has grown up with kids and is gentle with all ages and loves to give kisses. She loves squeaky toys and snuggles and playing in the backyard to keep an eye on the squirrels! She is highly trainable and super eager to please. Luna was born deaf but was taught hand commands from age 5 months. She responds well to visual cues and is eager to learn more. Deaf dogs are just like regular dogs, you simply communicate with them a little differently! If Luna sounds like the perfect addition to your family but you are worried about her being deaf don't be! We will include sessions with our trainer for any interested family to help make the transition super easy! Luna either needs to be an only dog (as being deaf other dogs can startle her) or potentially with a calm male dog. We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.

He is house trained, crate trained, collar trained, has some hunting experience (not a ton), He is lover, A cuddler, loves attentions, loves to play, loves to roam. He doesn't run away. He is a great companion. He truly is a sweet and loving dog. He is very high energy, gets very excited to meet people and dogs. He listens very well but sometimes will bump into things or jump on things. In new environments he just needs a little time to learn. He really needs some land to roam on. At this time I can't provide that to him and want to explore if there are any options for him to have that somewhere else. I've always walked him multiple times a day and run with him a few times a week. But if he could live on land that might give him a little better life. This type of breed is very high maintenance and high energy. So need an owner who can't handle that. As someone who wants the best for this dog. Would need to evaluate options.

He is fully house-trained and crate-trained, and he keeps the home happily chew-free. He adores people and gets along very well with humans of all ages. He appears to do well with cats. When it comes to wildlife, however, Jackson takes his job seriously. If you need squirrels caught, or at least strongly discouraged, Jackson is your guy. His strong chase instincts and impressive athletic speed can come into play, so he would thrive best in a home that understand working dogs.
