Story
Luna is a 5 year old Dalmatian/Lab mix She weighs about 50 pounds and is house-trained, crate-trained, and walks well on leash. She has grown up with kids and is gentle with all ages and loves to give kisses. She loves squeaky toys and snuggles and playing in the backyard to keep an eye on the squirrels! She is highly trainable and super eager to please. Luna was born deaf but was taught hand commands from age 5 months. She responds well to visual cues and is eager to learn more. Deaf dogs are just like regular dogs, you simply communicate with them a little differently! If Luna sounds like the perfect addition to your family but you are worried about her being deaf don't be! We will include sessions with our trainer for any interested family to help make the transition super easy! Luna either needs to be an only dog (as being deaf other dogs can startle her) or potentially with a calm male dog. We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.

We are currently having issues with our adoption inquiry webform. If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment to visit with an animal or multiple animals, please email us directly at info@animalhope.org or call us 817-984-1129 between 12 pm and 6 pm.Hello! Gump is still available for adoption, and his adoption fee is $300. He’s about 8 months old and weighs around 28 lbs. This brave boy came to us from a local shelter needing a left front limb amputation, which we performed—and he’s healing beautifully. Despite everything he’s been through, Gump’s spirit is bright, playful, and full of love. He’s a young, energetic pup who would thrive in a home that enjoys playtime and activity. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs, though his enthusiasm can sometimes be a bit much for calmer pups. Still, his joyful personality is truly contagious. Since we don’t observe our animals in home settings, we can’t guarantee whether they’re housebroken. Every pet adjusts at their own pace, and some may need a little patience and consistency as they settle into a new routine.Upon intake, every animal receives:Spay/neuter surgeryMicrochippingUpdated vaccinationsBlood and fecal testing (with treatment if needed)Flea/tick and heartworm preventionA free wellness exam within 7–10 days of adoptionTo adopt, you must:Be at least 21 years old Live within 1 hour of our facility If you’d like to meet Gump or have any questions, I’d be happy to help you set up a visit. He’s so ready to find a loving forever family who will cheer him on as he continues to thrive. Would you like to explore meeting Gump in person or learning more about his personality and needs?
