Story
Bruno was taken to Orange County Animal Control as a stray with an injury to his inner leg. He was pretty scared and confused as he seems to have lacked socialization and practice walking on a leash. He is now in San Diego and is doing well with his foster! He is happy, energetic and playful. He is practicing his leash walking and his social skills are really improving! Come meet Bruno at our rescue events on Saturdays and Sundays. Check the Paws4thought website for details. ##2307198##

Story
Lily is a 4-year-old Doberman with the sweetest spirit. She loves attention, long walks, and never misses a chance to flash her big smile (with her tongue out, of course!). Back rubs and ear scratches are her favorite. Sadly, Lily’s loving owner recently passed away, and now she’s hoping to find a new family to give her the love she’s so eager to share. She would make a wonderful, loyal companion.March 8, 2026, 8:45 pm

Story
We are currently doing courtesy posts because we don't have space in our rescue to bring dogs in. Diesel (under 2yrs male) is desperately needing of a new loving home. The owner gave him to the neighbor after the neighbor pleaded with them to let her take him because he was housed outside all day everyday since he's a puppy on a tiny cement patio with no sunlight and hardly any walks or interaction. Diesel is a sweet shy boy who has been horribly neglected all his life but is so eager to love people. Due to his neglect because he hasn't been around children or other animals we believe it's best to be the only dog in home. It is very possible for him to be around other animals and kids with proper training in the future. If interested in meeting Diesel please contact Christina (562)822-1205 cmadridk@gmail.comMarch 8, 2026, 8:45 pm

Story
I got Milo when he was 10 weeks old, he is the sweetest and loving boy you will ever own! I surely will miss him. He is highly active and energetic and gets very excited with new people. He is very kind and does not harm anyone or anything. He is great with kids of any age and very careful. He is still young and loves to play and doesn’t realize his size but makes sure to be safe around small kids (i love that about him). He does tend to jump when excited (needs training) he is a big boy still growing into his legs. He would do best with someone that has a yard, has the time to take him to parks, walks, loves runs, or anyone highly active! He is a huge ball of energy but also enjoys cuddles and love at the end of the day. He loves the dog park (gets scared of other dogs at first, quickly gets excited to play). I hate to have to let him go, due to unfortunate medical reasons, i am unable to be home as much as i would like to be :( Rehoming fee is to ensure he goes to good home!

Story
DOES NOT need to be spayed within 30 days. I have no idea why it's showing that and I have no idea how to change it*This girl's previous owner abandoned her with a dog trainer. She is about 4 months old, and is guessed to be some sort of Doberman mix. I have gotten her microchipped, dewormed/flea treated, and up date with shots, she will need 1 more round in 1-2 weeks. She is a very sweet and spunky girl, and will need an active family.I will be drafting out a strict adoption contract with a lawyer. She is not spayed yet (too young), and it is required that she gets spayed when she is old enough. $100 of the rehoming fee is a spay deposit, which will be returned after proof that Rosie has been spayed. Rehoming or breeding is forbidden. If you ever can't provide a home anymore, she is to be returned to me, and my info will remain on her microchip as backup (very basic rescue terms). I am also requiring active pet insurance throughout her life for her safety.

Story
How Cali arrived:Cali was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team on January 16, 2026. Why Cali is the one for you:Meet Cali, a Cali-fornia dream girl with a big heart, a busy brain, and a serious passion for playtime. This smart, loyal, and athletic sweetheart is happiest when she has a ball to chase, a toy to carry, or a person nearby to adore. Once she gets outside and has a chance to stretch her legs, she can settle into a nice walking rhythm, show off her good listening skills, and enjoy plenty of praise, pets, and sweet talk. Cali bonds closely with her people and loves being included in daily life, whether that means fetch in the yard, a walk around the neighborhood, or curling up near you for face scratches and belly rubs. She will do best with an adopter who can provide routine, exercise, enrichment, and positive guidance, while helping her practice calm greetings and build confidence when spending time on her own. Cali is looking to be the only dog in the home so she can soak up all the attention, and she would shine with people who appreciate a devoted companion with plenty of personality, playfulness, and heart. If you are ready for an energetic best friend who is eager to learn, loves deeply, and keeps the fun rolling, visit us and ask about Cali today. Please bring a leash and collar when adopting. At SDHS:Cali has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: Black Weight: 52 Age: 2yrs 1mths 1wks

Meet Penelope!!! Penelope was surrounded to our rescue about a month ago with 4 more siblings and we are soo in love with her. She had likely never lived in a home but she is settling in like the princess she is. Penelope loves snuggling with humans of all ages, playing with toys and... did we mention snuggling? She's probably around 7 months old and 8 pounds. She does great with other dogs and loves humans.
