Story
Thoran is a 6 year old purebred who is incredibly loving. He is very attention focused and loves to play. He's good with older children and is usually very well behaved although he has picked up some bad food habits from my father in law. We don't feed him table food but recently have had some poor behavior in pursuit of people food. Turns out my father in law was feeding him from the table unbeknownst to us. Some retraining should fix him up.

Story
Hello! I got Buoy a couple of years ago and immediately fell in love with him. He’s a sweet, fun dog who loves to run around and join me on adventures like hiking or beach days. Buoy is 2 1/2 now! I currently live in an apartment and recently started a new job, so it’s been hard for me to give Buoy the outdoor time and space he really needs. I’m looking for someone with a yard where Buoy can run freely and be outside every day. He loves playing fetch and being around people, and he deserves a home that can keep up with his energy and affection.

Story
Age: 1 year old Gender: Male Breed: Doberman Pinscher / German Shepherd Mix Weight: 110 lbs Personality: Bear is a perfect balance of energy and affection. With a higher energy level, he enjoys daily walks and outdoor adventures, but he is equally content to relax and snuggle at home with his favorite people. Bear thrives on companionship of other dogs. He loves being close, often curling up beside you on the couch or even trying to fit on your lap, or wrestling with his foster fur sibling. Bear is incredibly loyal and likes to build strong bonds with the people around him. Bear's intelligence shines through in how quickly he picks up new commands and tricks, making him fun and easy to train. Playful and sweet, Bear adores his toys—whether it’s a game of fetch, throwing his toys in the air, or simply chewing on a bone or a favorite squeaky toy. Bear has a gentle and friendly nature that makes him good with older children (his energy and size may be too much for toddlers). He loves other dogs and will play with them non-stop if given the opportunity. Overall, Bear is a wonderful companion, blending playfulness with loyalty and a strong desire for close connection. Education: Bear is potty trained, crate trained, and he knows commands like sit, stay, lay down. Walking on a leash is still a work in progress, but Bear is doing well and will continue to need proper socialization, training, and consistency. He has no separation anxiety. Favorite Activities: Bear loves to go on walks and enjoys watching all the action around him. He loves being with his people and wants to make sure he is making them happy, and loves even more to have a dog to engage in play with in the home. Bear loves to snuggle and give hugs. Bear loves throwing around stuffed toys and chewing on bones and chew sticks. Bear enjoys car rides and is either sticking his nose out the window or falling fast asleep for the drive. Looking for: Bear will be a great companion for outdoor activities like walking, hiking, or playing fetch, making him a perfect dog for active individuals or families with another dog in the home. Bear is always affectionate, eager to please, and enjoys spending quality time with his people and is happiest when he is included in family activities. Anyone who adopts Bear will get a loyal, smart, curious, playful, and very sweet best friend. Follow his foster @joey.n.friends.new.adventures ! Special needs: Some skin allergies Adoption Fee: $ 500 ##2230975##

Story
How this pet arrived: This pet was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team. Why this pet is the one for you:This regal looking dog who looks so handsome and elegant probably needs a new name to match his fancy looks. First, he needs a home with patient people who understand shy dogs because this guy is shy. He has been assigned to our trainers who have watched with pride as he has warmed up to them. He now walks well on a leash. He goes up to people and solicits pets. He wants to be the only dog in the household so he can get all his family's love and attention. He hopes that his family will continue the good work that his trainer's have started. We can help you with that, but basically, it means patience along with positive reinforcement. In that environment, this dog will be his family's loyal, friendly, protector who likes to cuddle and get treats. At SDHS:This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed neutered. This pet is now ready for their new home! Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: Tan Weight: 68 Age: 3yrs 3mths 0wks

Story
How this pet arrived: This pet was brought in by a Good Samaritan on December 29, 2025. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Maserati! Maserati is a handsome Doberman who is just beginning his next chapter and getting to know the people around him. While he's still settling in, one thing is already clear-he's a friendly, easygoing guy who has been great with medical staff. Maserati has a lipoma (a common, benign fatty lump) and some mild dental staining, but neither slows him down from being the charming dog he is. He's gentle during handling and shows a calm, cooperative nature, which hints that he'll be a wonderful companion once he's fully comfortable in a home. If you're looking for a loyal Doberman to build a bond with and help blossom as he adjusts, Maserati could be the perfect match. If you'd like to learn more about this pup come visit us at the San Diego Campus today! Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 88 Age: 6yrs 0mths 3wks

Story
Lily is a 4-year-old Doberman with the sweetest spirit. She loves attention, long walks, and never misses a chance to flash her big smile (with her tongue out, of course!). Back rubs and ear scratches are her favorite. Sadly, Lily’s loving owner recently passed away, and now she’s hoping to find a new family to give her the love she’s so eager to share. She would make a wonderful, loyal companion.September 24, 2025, 12:23 am
