Meet Sailor! This gorgeous dobie pup recently came to AFRP with a heartbreaking story. Sailor was found emaciated and tied to a fence, in desperate need of help. Now, she's on the road to a fulfilling life but she's looking for a furever family! Sailor is your typical pup, and would love to find a cozy home to spend her holidays in! She's still young, so she's looking for an active home and would likely do just fine with another playful pup. At this time, it's currently unknown how she may do with cats. Sailor would love to find experienced adult adopters, but may do well with families who have dog-savvy children over the age of ten at this time. Sailor will require pre-registration to general obedience classes with proof sent to AFRP prior to adoption. Sailor is also seeking a foster home! If you're a current foster with AFRP and interested in helping Sailor, please contact our Operations Manager! MEET BLITZ, an 85-lb stunning Doberman male who is waiting for his forever home. Blitz is a large Dobie, almost 2 years old. He is a dark red, almost chocolate color and is magnificent in appearance. Blitz is currently in training in the Los Angeles area to overcome some fears and quirks he has had in the past. He is affectionate with people he knows but in the past was tense and suspicious with strangers, especially if he is in a confined space. He can also be a bit stubborn, though his training is helping tremendously. Blitz gets along great with other dogs-- he has previously lived happily with a female Doberman in his foster home. Because of his size and strength, a home without small children is mandatory. Blitz has high energy and would benefit from having a yard, where he can run and play. Blitz is also hypo-thyroid so is on inexpensive thyroid medication, which will likely be forever. We believe Blitz is of European ancestry and like all Euro-Dobies, he has heavier bones and a larger head than the more petite American Dobies. Blitz is without question a lot of dog! But he is a lot of really good dog. Doberman or large-dog experience is a must for his adoption. Please email for an application.

Meet our sweet 2-year-old Doberman and Rottweiler mix. He is a friendly, affectionate, and well-mannered dog who enjoys being around people and is gentle by nature. He is potty trained and understands basic household routines, making him an easy companion in the home. He has a calm and pleasant temperament, is social, and enjoys attention and companionship. He does well with consistent structure and would thrive in a home that can provide regular exercise, engagement, and affection. This decision to rehome him has not been easy. Due to the owner’s health condition, we are no longer able to provide the level of care, activity, and attention he deserves. Our priority is finding a loving and stable home where he can continue to grow, be cared for properly, and live a happy life. He would be a wonderful addition to a family or individual who has the time and ability to meet his needs and give him the love he deserves.

Aria is a really sweet and silly girl. She gets along with other dogs, cats, and children very well. She can be a bit shy at first but once she warms up to you she will give you endless love. She loves to lounge on the couch or on the bed, but also has endless energy to play and train. She’s fully potty trained, knows basic obedience, and knows fun tricks like shake. She hasn’t been spayed yet. She’s a smart dog with some sneaky habits.

Looks like: Miniature Pinscher Mix Male, 10 years old (estimated), 12 pounds Little Buddy is ready to snuggle his way right into your heart or under your blankets! This spunky little boy loves to play with stuffed toys and enjoys a nice walk - he's a perfect gentleman on leash! He has a moderate amount of energy. He plays hard but also naps hard. Did we mention that Buddy is a champion cuddler? This sweet guy bonds with his person quickly and deeply. He loves being on your lap or in your arms but is also perfectly content curled up in a dog bed with or without other pups. Buddy has some arthritis in his back, so he prefers gentle handling, and would love to be in a home with a single adult. Despite his arthritis, Buddy loves exploring the world on walks and is happiest sniffing to his heart's content! He does great around other dogs but because of his arthritis, Buddy is looking for a home with dog friends who can also be gentle with him and not roughhouse. Buddy returned to us after one of his guardians health began to decline.
