MEET BLITZ, an 85-lb stunning Doberman male who is waiting for his forever home. Blitz is a large Dobie, almost 2 years old. He is a dark red, almost chocolate color and is magnificent in appearance. Blitz is currently in training in the Los Angeles area to overcome some fears and quirks he has had in the past. He is affectionate with people he knows but in the past was tense and suspicious with strangers, especially if he is in a confined space. He can also be a bit stubborn, though his training is helping tremendously. Blitz gets along great with other dogs-- he has previously lived happily with a female Doberman in his foster home. Because of his size and strength, a home without small children is mandatory. Blitz has high energy and would benefit from having a yard, where he can run and play. Blitz is also hypo-thyroid so is on inexpensive thyroid medication, which will likely be forever. We believe Blitz is of European ancestry and like all Euro-Dobies, he has heavier bones and a larger head than the more petite American Dobies. Blitz is without question a lot of dog! But he is a lot of really good dog. Doberman or large-dog experience is a must for his adoption. Please email for an application.

Meet Sailor! This gorgeous dobie pup recently came to AFRP with a heartbreaking story. Sailor was found emaciated and tied to a fence, in desperate need of help. Now, she's on the road to a fulfilling life but she's looking for a furever family! Sailor is your typical pup, and would love to find a cozy home to spend her holidays in! She's still young, so she's looking for an active home and would likely do just fine with another playful pup. At this time, it's currently unknown how she may do with cats. Sailor would love to find experienced adult adopters, but may do well with families who have dog-savvy children over the age of ten at this time. Sailor will require pre-registration to general obedience classes with proof sent to AFRP prior to adoption. Sailor is also seeking a foster home! Aria is a really sweet and silly girl. She gets along with other dogs, cats, and children very well. She can be a bit shy at first but once she warms up to you she will give you endless love. She loves to lounge on the couch or on the bed, but also has endless energy to play and train. She’s fully potty trained, knows basic obedience, and knows fun tricks like shake. She hasn’t been spayed yet. She’s a smart dog with some sneaky habits.

He likely has some sort of neuro condition, as he often turns in circles, but he doesn't let it dampen his spirits... he just wants to live out his golden years with a family who is willing to see past his circling and enjoy him as the positive being that he is. He is mellow and enjoys walks and playing with other dogs. He is used to big children; and due to his size and energy; I would not recommend them to a home with small or fragile people. It is unknown how they might be with cats. He gets along fine with our 18 lb dog & other dogs. I would prefer he is adopted by someone with experience with large dogs.
