MEET BLITZ, an 85-lb stunning Doberman male who is waiting for his forever home. Blitz is a large Dobie, almost 2 years old. He is a dark red, almost chocolate color and is magnificent in appearance. Blitz is currently in training in the Los Angeles area to overcome some fears and quirks he has had in the past. He is affectionate with people he knows but in the past was tense and suspicious with strangers, especially if he is in a confined space. He can also be a bit stubborn, though his training is helping tremendously. Blitz gets along great with other dogs-- he has previously lived happily with a female Doberman in his foster home. Because of his size and strength, a home without small children is mandatory. Blitz has high energy and would benefit from having a yard, where he can run and play. Blitz is also hypo-thyroid so is on inexpensive thyroid medication, which will likely be forever. We believe Blitz is of European ancestry and like all Euro-Dobies, he has heavier bones and a larger head than the more petite American Dobies. Blitz is without question a lot of dog! But he is a lot of really good dog. Doberman or large-dog experience is a must for his adoption. Please email for an application.

Rex is our very special sweetheart. In the home, he is an absolute cuddle bug who can be slow to warm up with new people. Once you earn his trust, he is the most loyal little man ever. Rex loves to play tug-of-war and despite being a tripod, he has the stamina to run for a while! He is a bit of an anxious fellow and would do best as an only dog in the house--he has been bit by a large breed dog before and is reactive with most of them.

He is potty trained and understands basic household routines, making him an easy companion in the home. He has a calm and pleasant temperament, is social, and enjoys attention and companionship. He does well with consistent structure and would thrive in a home that can provide regular exercise, engagement, and affection. This decision to rehome him has not been easy. Due to the owner’s health condition, we are no longer able to provide the level of care, activity, and attention he deserves. Our priority is finding a loving and stable home where he can continue to grow, be cared for properly, and live a happy life. Meet Sailor! This gorgeous dobie pup recently came to AFRP with a heartbreaking story. Sailor was found emaciated and tied to a fence, in desperate need of help. Now, she's on the road to a fulfilling life but she's looking for a furever family! Sailor is your typical pup, and would love to find a cozy home to spend her holidays in! She's still young, so she's looking for an active home and would likely do just fine with another playful pup. At this time, it's currently unknown how she may do with cats. Sailor would love to find experienced adult adopters, but may do well with families who have dog-savvy children over the age of ten at this time. Sailor will require pre-registration to general obedience classes with proof sent to AFRP prior to adoption. Sailor is also seeking a foster home! He likely has some sort of neuro condition, as he often turns in circles, but he doesn't let it dampen his spirits... he just wants to live out his golden years with a family who is willing to see past his circling and enjoy him as the positive being that he is.
