Story

Daisy was Dropped off to us at 9 months old after her original owner found himself unable to care for her. Parentage is a white Doberman bred with a regular black Doberman. Daisy is the runt of that litter. Daisy is very affectionate, loves to be pet and enjoys learning new things. We have cared for Daisy for the past 5 years- but as our household changes she is bored. She needs much more exercise than we are able to give her. Daisy would do very well in an area with a lot of land, and the possibility of a job. She enjoys sniffing and chasing. She LOVES to run. Daisy is not food motivated. She has a chicken allergy. She needs supplements or fish oils to keep her hair from falling out. She has dry skin and can develop pressure sores if she doesn’t have adequate soft bedding. She loves to play, knows basic commands, and is crate trained. She’s good with other dogs and cats, although she will chase the cat if it runs- but only because she wants to sniff it.

This adorable little girl and her siblings came in to rescue last winter after they were dumped on a back country road. Their mother was found deceased, so we took the puppies in to try to save them. They were very sick initially but are very healthy now. Blair is a gentle little girl, but dose love to run and play with other dogs. She has done amazing with her house and crate training. She is so deserving of a wonderful home to call her own. She is fostered in East TN, but transportation is included in the adoption fee and provided by Rescue Riders LLC. Chandler loves, LOVES chasing balls and chewing ropes. He is very vocal, whining and barking when he wants attention or needs to go outside/wants to go run the yard. He was kenneled at the shelter for months before coming to rescue, so he is reluctant to crate at his foster home for long periods of time but is sleeping overnight in a crate for practice. He is an anxious chewer and blanket sucker when inside/crated. He prefers to sleep on a dog bed, couch or the floor. Chandler is being trained with boundaries (baby gates) and does not push open doors or push past people. He knows sit and is easy to walk on a leash. He barks at people and things at a distance but does not show aggression. He is tall and at 2 years old, will not get any taller - which is fine since he is above the breed standard of a Doberman and fitting in the category of a Warlock or King size bred Doberman. He is continuing to gain weight/muscle and last weighed 78 lbs. He could be a 95 lb-110 lb dog. >> He will need a family accepting of his initial anxiety - he barks at new things and people (which is unnerving since he's huge) but will give kisses by the 2nd date or meeting, give 48 hours in a new home before he understands. He is working on house training and socializing. He functions with a puppy brain but is very trainable and eager to please. He will jump on people, he will pull at objects in someone's hand. Chandler Goose will require breed experience to adjust to a new home successfully. !!! He has been slowly introduced to other dogs and thriving in group play. He does well with other big dogs males and females; he wants to play and smell, following the lead of other dogs. He would like dog friends and a yard to play. Due to his size and limited social skills, He should not be exercised at a dog park. He was poorly socialized and was not used to strangers and never had dog friends. He was significantly underweight at 54 lbs and barked at strangers. The shelter staff knew the best way to find the 'right' family for their 'Silly Goose' would be through Rescue. Chandler Goose weighed in at 70 lbs during his rescue intake and was still noticeably underweight with poor muscle tone.

Dominic started the summer couch surfing or patio lounging - no microchip, no collar and not recognized by local families. He is guessed to be 4 years old and loves everyone! He gets along with other dogs, other big males and small dogs too. He is crate trained, now neutered, heartworm treated and on prevention. Dominic is black and tan, docked tail and floppy natural Doberman ears. He last weighted in at 68 lbs and enjoys running the yard at this foster home. He is around children and has never met a stranger, quiet and not a good guard or alert dog - Dominic is here for the PARTY, like a college kid, not currently seeking a job just hoping to get along by his good looks and muscles. ...He will chase a cat, obsess over the cat's whereabouts so a home without one might be best. Ms. Dixie Hart is the sweetest dog! She has taken in the dogs around her to give comfort, confidence and guidance. She was found with other dogs in Kerr County roaming an area just before a devastating flood. She trusts people and learned her routines, crating and coming to commands. Dixie was clearly a mama dog who has had a rough life - her ears are uneven and cut off (an attempt at cropped ears) and she has a docked tail. Her coat is course and appears to be a result of poor breeding. She is majority Doberman in her appearance (59 lbs and a bit stocky). Guessed to be 5-6 years old. She is house trained and stays Quietly on a dog bed enjoying the comforts of being a house dog now. She deserves a family to give kisses and keep her heart company.
