Honey is a sweet two year old Doberman/husky mix. Sadly, her mommy has a terminal illness and has reached out to us to find Honey the perfect forever home. Honey is spayed, up-to-date on all required vaccines, HW negative and micro chipped. Honey is sweet and affectionate but a little awkward. She just needs a little bit of training to become that perfect dog. Training her mom just hasn’t been up to lately. Honey has one beautiful blue eye and the most adorable ears I’ve ever seen. She weighs about 55 pounds. She would do well with older children that wouldn't be knocked over as well as a good natured doggy sibling. After arriving at the City of Friendswood Animal Control severely underweight and in need of special care, she spent a week recovering and gaining strength. Thanks to the shelter staff, who adored her gentle nature, Dream has already gained 10 lbs and is on her way to full health. Concerned for possible VWD and needing both spay and heartworm treatment, rescue was requested. Dream's blood testing did not reveal a danger, though she was dehydrated and in-heat requiring additional care during her surgeries.

Our Darling Dakota appears to be mostly a Doberman (black with rust markings, docked tail with naturally floppy ears) and identifies as a ‘velcro’ big softie. She appears to have had puppies in her past, being aged by our vet at just 2 years old. Vaccinated, Spayed, Microchipped and on prevention after heartworm treatment - she weighs in at 78 lbs. Chandler loves, LOVES chasing balls and chewing ropes. He is very vocal, whining and barking when he wants attention or needs to go outside/wants to go run the yard. He was kenneled at the shelter for months before coming to rescue, so he is reluctant to crate at his foster home for long periods of time but is sleeping overnight in a crate for practice. He is an anxious chewer and blanket sucker when inside/crated. He prefers to sleep on a dog bed, couch or the floor. Chandler is being trained with boundaries (baby gates) and does not push open doors or push past people. He knows sit and is easy to walk on a leash. He barks at people and things at a distance but does not show aggression. He is tall and at 2 years old, will not get any taller - which is fine since he is above the breed standard of a Doberman and fitting in the category of a Warlock or King size bred Doberman. He is continuing to gain weight/muscle and last weighed 78 lbs. He could be a 95 lb-110 lb dog. >> He will need a family accepting of his initial anxiety - he barks at new things and people (which is unnerving since he's huge) but will give kisses by the 2nd date or meeting, give 48 hours in a new home before he understands. He is working on house training and socializing. He functions with a puppy brain but is very trainable and eager to please. He will jump on people, he will pull at objects in someone's hand. Chandler Goose will require breed experience to adjust to a new home successfully. !!! He has been slowly introduced to other dogs and thriving in group play. He does well with other big dogs males and females; he wants to play and smell, following the lead of other dogs. He would like dog friends and a yard to play. Due to his size and limited social skills, He should not be exercised at a dog park. The shelter staff knew the best way to find the 'right' family for their 'Silly Goose' would be through Rescue. Chandler Goose weighed in at 70 lbs during his rescue intake and was still noticeably underweight with poor muscle tone.

Our mature Doberman, Indy is a calm gentleman and ready for his own Family. Indy came to us in poor health due to neglect; bald and with a mass (removed cyst). His hair is growing back and he loves to RUN trying to restore the Doberman lean muscle physique. Crate trained and house trained, Indy loves dog beds and big fluffy fleece blankets. He may look older but he acts and moves like the young Dobies. Vet aged him at 6-8 years old. With a Quality diet and daily exercise, Indy has years of love to give a family. Due to his age and foster training, Indy could live in a condo or apartment (XL crate) if taken for frequent walks. Indy will lean heavy into anyone who might pet him. He does bark if he needs to go outside or to alert another dog to give him space. Neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm treated and on prevention. Microchipped.
