I already know sit&#44 down&#44 drop it and sometimes even shake (because I do like to work it!). And yes&#44 I LOVE to fetch tennis balls and bring them right back like a pro. They were instructed to allow me to make the first move to meet them. It took no time for me to go up to them and greet them. My Friends at Wayside say: - I am enrolled in Peace Academy. Peace Academy is a program for dogs to learn advanced skills to manage their energy. I am also a graduate of Waifs with Wisdom, where I learned basic commands and leash walking skills. My adoption comes with a free 30-minute private training session.- I am active boy and would be a great companion for long walks or hikes!- I’m smart and food/treat motivated. - I am eligible for a Slumber Pawty, a 7-10 day in-home trial period. Story
Doug is a very loving outgoing puppy. He knows basic commands like sit, stay, come, heal. He loves to play tug a war and fetch. We are still working on bringing the toy back to us though. He is a very energetic dog and needs somewhere to run. He loves your attention and greets you with lots of love when comming home. He will snuggle on your lab if you let him and loves to nap on anything soft. He is crate trained and stays in a crate overnight in our bedroom, he likes to know someone is near by. He is definitely a people dog! He is potty trained, we utilize the bells on the sliding glass door. He hits the bells and find us when he’s ready to go outside. He is not a fan of the cold and does better with a sweater. He is a chewer, and has learned what he can and can not chew on mostly at this point. He does go in a doggy play pen during the day while we work. He needs more attention than what I’m able to give him and really needs someone who isn’t gone all day.

I found myself at the shelter after my persons health began to decline and he could no longer care for me. It wasnt anyones fault-but Im ready to start my next chapter with someone new.<br/><br/>I can be a little nervous when we first meet&#44 so I appreciate gentle patience and kind voices. Once I get to know you&#44 though&#44 my playful side comes out-and I could chase a tennis ball all day long! (Full disclosure: Im still working on actually catching it... turns out mouth-eye coordination is a skill).<br/><br/>Im reportedly kennel trained and potty trained&#44 and while Im a very good girl&#44 I am also big and strong. Obedience training would be a wonderful way for us to bond while I polish up my manners-not because Im naughty&#44 but because I sometimes forget just how powerful I am!<br/><br/>Id do best in a home with older kids (8+)&#44 an active lifestyle&#44 and Id really love to be your one and only- sometimes dogs make me nervous&#44 and definitely no cats please.
