Story
Hello people, my name is Ruger and I am a very handsome purebred Doberman about 1-year-old, 67 lbs, and I was running down a busy street in San Antonio, Texas wearing a very tight muzzle and a Service Dog vest, dodging traffic, lost and confused, or perhaps dumped and terrified, since nobody ever claimed me. It was a relief when a good samaritan picked me up and was brave enough to remove that muzzle, but I didn't need to be wearing it in the first place. I am a sweet boy and I ended up going to a foster home that has 2 resident Dobermans and a bunch of little foster dogs and I fit right in.
I happen to be very friendly with all humans, men and women, kids and grownups, even strangers. I get along great with other dogs and I understand doggy social etiquette, meaning if another dog wants to be left alone, I pay attention and move along. I love playing fetch and catch, I love dog biscuits and rawhide chews. My foster mom says she is stunned that nobody claimed me because I am loving and affectionate to all my doggy friends and to the children that live here. I would call myself a big ol’ lap dog because if you call me over that's where I will try to be, like a big baby! Once your legs are falling asleep and you ask me to get down, I’ll lay nearby without a fuss. I am very well-behaved! I am fully housebroken, I rarely bark, and I do not dig in your yard or try to jump the fence either. I don't guard my food or my people, I don't have separation anxiety and I don't fear thunderstorms. I love to go for walks and rides in the car, I’m amazing! I would make a terrible guard dog, so if that's what you are looking for, please keep looking. I am just a sweet loveable friendly baby that's looking for a wonderful forever home. I will be moving to Connecticut next week so get your application in. Not to brag, but dogs like me don't come around too often, and I’m sure I will make some family extremely proud to call me their forever dog!
