Story
Atlas is already neutered and READY TO GO HOME!!Atlas may be named after a titan who carried the weight of the world, but don't worry - this 1.5-year-old, 50 lb Doberman isn't looking for a Hercules. He just needs a kind human to help him navigate the world with patience, snacks, and squeaky toys. When Atlas hits the play yard, he comes in hot - think superhero landing, dramatic flair and all. But don't be fooled by the entrance - it's really Much Ado About Nothing. With a confident, chill, female playmate, he settles into his groove, tossing out play bows and his signature "Doberman teeth clacks" to kick off a good ol' fashioned game of chase. He's like a big, eager puppy learning the ropes of social life. Once he finds his rhythm, he's playful, goofy, and charmingly earnest. Just don't pair him with a bossy or grumpy dog - Atlas prefers his co-stars to be cool, calm, and collected. He's what's known as dog selective, so he'll need slow intros and thoughtful meetups if new dog friends are in the cards. For now, he might shine brightest as your one and only.Atlas is whip-smart, food-motivated, and ready to learn. With clear structure and a gentle hand, he'll reward you with loyalty that could hold up the sky.If you're interested in learning more about him, please reach out to our volunteer matchmakers at wcac.matchmaker@gmail.com with the subject line "Atlas 256026".He is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and already neutered. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times. Primary Color: Black Brown Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 58.5 Age: 1yrs 10mths 3wks

Story
Hi. I’m Copper, a handsome brown/black puppy--they say I might be a Rhodesian ridgeback mix. I was born in the woods to a stray momma around 5/13/25. Mom left us at about 5 weeks old; but a really nice person fed my siblings and got them to a rescue. Sadly, I was in hiding and was missed. By the time they found me and got me to the rescue, I was half the size of my siblings. But with good care and food, I’m now just as big! I’m learning all about nice people, dogs, and even cats. Indoor living is amazing. We play, wrestle, cuddle, go on walks, eat, and sleep. Oh, and potty. I’m working on house training. My foster mom says I’m supposed to potty outside, but I prefer playing. No worries, I’ll get it figured out soon. I am a little shy to new things, but if you take the time to help me learn, I’ll do fine. They say I’m all ready to be adopted. Could it be with you? ***PLEASE NOTE*** This pup has not yet been altered and requires an extra $100 spay/neuter deposit. JCAPL will pay for the procedure at a partner clinic and once completed, the deposit will be refunded to the adopter. However, a non-local adopter is required to pay for the spay/neuter at their own veterinarian by a specific date. After proof of the procedure is provided, $50 of the adoption fee will be refunded with the deposit. *** Are you interested in adopting this dog or another JCAPL pet you have seen? You'll need to start by completing an adoption application, available online at our website: www.jcapl.org. There is no obligation to adopt by completing an application, however, we do recommend submitting an application as soon as you find an animal you are interested in. We review applications in the order they are received. Completed applications can be submitted online, or sent via email to adopt@jcapl.org, or faxed to 919-300-5524. We will contact you as soon as possible once we receive your application. *** Thanks for thinking adoption! ***
