Story
(DOB 11/18/2019) Freya loves car rides, pup cups, and exploring new trails, and she’s happiest when she’s included as part of the family. With her supermodel-sleek physique and gorgeous chocolate brown coat, she “dresses up beautifully” in vibrant colors like, bright pink, sunny yellow, or light blue outfits look stunning on her. Feel free to let her strut her stuff when you’re out and about! Freya is an incredible Doberman with a big heart, a sharp mind, and energy to spare. Past the crazy puppy phase and still has plenty of puppy sparkle and enthusiasm for life. She loves toys, playtime, and staying active, and she’d be thrilled to be your hiking buddy, trail explorer, or training partner. With her intelligence and drive to please, Freya would absolutely shine in agility, Rally Obedience, or any activity that keeps her both physically and mentally engaged. And true to Doberman form, she’ll happily sneak in cuddles and kisses between adventures. Freya is highly intelligent and eager to learn. She listens very well to commands she already knows and picks up new ones quickly, making her a fantastic match for an experienced owner who understands working breeds. She enjoys having a job to do and thrives with structure, consistency, and continued training. Daily exercise and mental stimulation are musts for this girl, and she’ll reward you with loyalty, focus, and lots of love. In the home, Freya is fully house trained and crates well. She is currently learning to walk more politely on leash and continues to improve with practice. In her yard she will let you know if she hears something out of the ordinary; just part of her being an awesome watchdog. That said, she has loved every person she’s met and is social, affectionate, and confident with humans. Freya currently lives with a cat and does well with close supervision. With other dogs, she can be selective. She has been corrective with dog friends when they cross her boundaries, making it clear when she needs space. Slow introductions, decompression time, and a submissive, respectful canine companion may work well for her. Freya was once a devoted momma, and it’s likely she’s simply done with over-the-top puppy antics and prefers calmer, more polite interactions. Freya is still polishing her food manners and can get a little enthusiastic when food/treats are involved, sometimes forgetting just how big and strong she is. She’s already making progress with training and consistency, and with continued guidance she’ll continue to improve. Because of this, she’d do best in an adult-only home or one with older teens (15+) who understand boundaries around food and can help reinforce calm, polite behavior. She's ready to start her next chapter with you!! So if you are that active, committed home that wants to truly include her in everyday life and if you’re looking for a smart, loyal, adventurous companion with classic Doberman charm, Freya may be your perfect match. As part of Freya’s $300 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet girl, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org. If you wish to adopt Freya, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website: www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2593780##

Story
Atlas is already neutered and READY TO GO HOME!!Atlas may be named after a titan who carried the weight of the world, but don't worry - this 1.5-year-old, 50 lb Doberman isn't looking for a Hercules. He just needs a kind human to help him navigate the world with patience, snacks, and squeaky toys. When Atlas hits the play yard, he comes in hot - think superhero landing, dramatic flair and all. But don't be fooled by the entrance - it's really Much Ado About Nothing. With a confident, chill, female playmate, he settles into his groove, tossing out play bows and his signature "Doberman teeth clacks" to kick off a good ol' fashioned game of chase. He's like a big, eager puppy learning the ropes of social life. Once he finds his rhythm, he's playful, goofy, and charmingly earnest. Just don't pair him with a bossy or grumpy dog - Atlas prefers his co-stars to be cool, calm, and collected. He's what's known as dog selective, so he'll need slow intros and thoughtful meetups if new dog friends are in the cards. For now, he might shine brightest as your one and only.Atlas is whip-smart, food-motivated, and ready to learn. With clear structure and a gentle hand, he'll reward you with loyalty that could hold up the sky.He is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and already neutered. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times. Primary Color: Black Brown Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 54 Age: 2yrs 0mths 1wks

Story
Meet Sable — a 4 year old, 47 lb Doberman/Hound mix with a joyful spirit, a big heart, and a serious love for stuffies. Quick Facts: Name: Sable Breed: Doberman/Hound Mix Age: 4 years old Weight: 47 lbs. House-Trained: Yes Crate-Trained: Not needed Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: No Good with Kids: Yes, best with kids who can handle jumpiness Energy Level: High (playful) Fence Required: Yes About Sable’s Breed: Our best guess is that Sable is a mixed breed of Doberman/Hound mixed breed. Doberman–Hound mixes often blend the athleticism and loyalty of a Doberman with the curiosity and scent&#226&#128&#145driven instincts of a Hound, creating a dog who is smart, energetic, and deeply connected to their people. They tend to be alert, playful, and eager to explore, with a mix of working&#226&#128&#145dog focus and hound&#226&#128&#145dog wanderlust that makes them both engaging and entertaining companions. An ideal home for this mix is one that offers consistent exercise, mental stimulation, and positive training, along with plenty of time spent with their humans. A fenced yard or regular leashed adventures helps satisfy their need to run and sniff, while structure and companionship help them thrive emotionally. With the right balance of activity and affection, they become incredibly loyal, loving family dogs. What to Love about Sable: This sweet girl tries to collect every plush toy in the house, but she’s learning to share and redirect that excitement. When she’s not playing or bouncing with happiness, she’ll happily curl up in your lap for a nap, proving she’s equal parts energetic and affectionate. Sable is 100% potty trained, has great house manners, and doesn’t need a crate — she can be trusted while you’re away. She’s wonderful with other dogs and loves greeting them on her walks, but she’s not a match for cats or small critters due to her prey drive (she takes squirrel patrol very seriously). She’s great with kids, though her enthusiasm and jumpiness may be a bit much for very small children. With her high energy and playful nature, Sable will thrive in a home with a fenced yard where she can run, explore, and burn off steam. She’s easygoing, friendly with everyone she meets, and walks beautifully on a leash. She’d be happiest with an active family who enjoys hikes, playtime, and outdoor adventures — and who doesn’t mind a dog who brings all the stuffies to the party! Sable’s Spectacular Highlights: • 4&#226&#128&#145year&#226&#128&#145old, 47 lb Doberman/Hound mix with a loving, playful, stuffie&#226&#128&#145obsessed personality • High&#226&#128&#145energy girl who thrives with a fenced yard and plenty of playtime • Great with other dogs and loves greeting them on walks • Not suited for cats or small critters due to her prey drive (expert squirrel watcher!) • 100% potty trained and doesn’t need a crate — trustworthy when left alone • Very affectionate and will happily curl up in your lap after playtime • Good with kids, though her excited jumpiness may be too much for very small children • Easygoing, friendly with everyone, and walks beautifully on a leash Sable is a loving, lively, people oriented girl who’s ready to bring joy, fun, and endless cuddles to her forever home! Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. to ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/.
