If you’ve ever wished for a best friend who thinks you are the absolute center of the universe… congratulations, you’ve just found her.
Ellie is a 5-year-old Doberman mix with a heart as big as her adorable 65-pound frame, and trust us, she has no idea she’s not lap-sized. This sweet girl came to us after being found as a stray in Raleigh, having clearly lived a tough life before rescue. Her ears tell part of that story, and she’s recently completed heartworm treatment like the strong, resilient queen she is. Now? She’s ready to leave the past behind and fully embrace her glow-up era: love, safety, and all the belly rubs she can get.
And oh… the belly rubs.
Ellie doesn’t just like them, she lives for them. She will roll over at any moment, just in case there’s even a chance you might oblige. Honestly, it’s her love language.

Ellie absolutely adores other dogs and is always trying to make new friends, she’s just still polishing up her social skills (think: enthusiastic toddler energy). She’s likely cat-friendly too, as she’s been seen calmly ignoring one indoors. With people, she’s a total sweetheart who generally loves everyone, though she may take a minute to warm up in brand new situations.
She walks on a leash with… let’s call it enthusiasm, but she’s eager to learn and would thrive with a family willing to continue her training. She’s currently working on basic manners like not jumping (again, she truly believes she is a tiny lap dog), so a home with older kids or dog-savvy humans would be ideal.

She’s learning—every single day—that people can be kind, safe, and full of love. And now that she knows that? She wants all of it. All the pets. All the cuddles. All the companionship. She’s ready to give her whole heart to someone who will cherish it.
